Chapter Thirty-Seven
She had no idea what she was doing, and Trina had resolved to not think of it too deeply, lest she lose whatever courage she had built up over the last few hours. Some things only came to you out of a necessity, some actions were motivated by feelings, rather than logical thinking.
This was one of those actions.
She charged through the palace, most of the occupants clearing the way for her, only because they knew her to be the witch. She caught the look of surprise on the features of some of Alejandro's men. It was an expected reaction; she wasn't seen on palace grounds, she always stayed put in her little hut outside of town.

The squirrel sat by the bush, oblivious to the two pairs of amber eyes trained on it. The forest was mostly silent, none of its inhabitants wanting to make too much noise, just so they wouldn’t startle their target.
