CHAPTER 2 - FATHER AND MOTHER

"My name!? What is my name?"

" 'Rubia Mary Albert Charleston' that is your name dear is everything all right...? "

Now -

The next day I opened my eyes hoping that all that happened was a dream and that I was not dead. Hoping that I would wake up in a hospital room.

But unfortunately, it wasn't so.

A maid enters the room. *

"Good morning miss." Said the maid as she bowed down

"Right... Could you please guide me by telling me my daily schedule...?" asked Sarah hoping to ease the tension in the room

"Y-yes Miss... Normally as soon as you get up you have your bath, change your clothes, and join the master and Madam for a meal."

"All right, Then I'll be in your care then!" said Sarah as she smiled gently at the maid

Sarah's Pov –

The maid was somewhat shocked well I can't blame her cause Rubia treated maids poorly There isn't much mentioned about Rubia in the novel but the novel does mention about her ill-treating the maids and the female lead...

While changing her clothes. *

"What is your name?" asked Sarah to the maid

"M-my name is Sandra, My Lady.”

"Alright, Sandra thank you."

"Yes, my lady."

Sandra's POV-

I had heard the rumour that said my lady had lost her memories. When I heard of it, I felt a sense of relief since the lady used to vent out her anger on us most of the time. But after seeing how the lady has treated me today is it all right to say that she has changed...?

Sarah's POV-

By now she must be questioning herself whether I have really changed or if I am putting on an act.

I can't say that she will hold no doubt because the maids in the Dukedom were almost terrified of Rubia.

Sarah enters the Dining room and takes her seat. *

"Are you alright, Dear?" asked the Duchess

"Yes, Mom I am fine." answered Sarah

"Mom...? You called me mom...?"

Sarah's Pov -

Isn't that how daughters are to address their mothers? But, then again... I'm in a world where aristocracy exists. I suppose I am to address her as 'mother'. That must be how Rubia addressed her.

"Am I to address you as mother...? " said Sarah as she put down her fork

"No, dear I'm just so happy that you finally called me mom and not mother."

"All right mom. Where is dad...?"

"Your father had meeting with the emperor last week so he has gone to report the condition of the west lands to the emperor."

"If he heard you call him dad just now, He would without a doubt start crying...!"

Sarah's Pov -

The emperor. According to the novel, it seemed to be as if the emperor displayed a kind and innocent face in public, but he was quite sharp and befitting of the title emperor...As expected of the Male Leads Father I guess but I hated the guy because he was the one who issued death by the guillotine to the villainess Rubia who poisoned the innocent female lead Catherine...

And about the family of Rubia I remember that the duke wished for a daughter while the Duchess wished for a son.

The couple was blessed with a son a year after their marriage and were later blessed with a daughter three years after the firstborn child.

"Do I have a brother, Mum...?" asked Sarah

"Yes, dear. Your brother wished to come back to the duchy immediately after hearing that you collapsed but Henry asked of him to not do anything reckless.”

"Where does my brother study...?"

"He studies at the royal academy."

"I see."

Sarah's Pov -

The royal academy. If I remember right, the male lead of the novel 'Fredrick Nicholson Lloyd Kennedy' who is as well as the crown Prince of the Kennedy Empire, studied there before met the female lead.

"You referred to an ‘incident’. Could you tell me more about this incident...?" asked Sarah

"Yes, dear. But first eat your breakfast and restore the energy you lost. We can talk about the incident in the study once your father arrives." answered the Duchess

"Yes."
