Deeper into the city I was starting to get used to the different sights and smells and sticking closer to Icaan. It helped if I could smell him more than anything else.

The city was mostly made of a red sandstone, the dust coming up from the streets also helping to deaden the smells of Frentin as they walked past. It made buildings that looked beautiful from afar, especially under the hot sun of the planet, but they looked less pristine up close. A lot of buildings had crumbling corners and sometimes even walls.

It was clear that the city had seen better days, but here and there a building was fresh and new, the sandstone corners sharp and well defined and the walls smooth, freshly cut hues woven through the walls.
