Chapter 17: Someone is intrigued

"But perhaps I will not. I will do with her how I see fit, Tia. Do not mend in my business." Adrian continued and I released a small breath I was holding. The danger wasn't over but at least I could breathe again.

Everybody had food on their plates and wine in their glasses and I eyed the wine with interest. It will just be wine, right? Maybe it was something else. Maybe it was blood. I narrowed my eyes at the glass as if it would tell me if I just looked hard enough. "This is wine, right?" I asked Adrian. The rest stopped eating and looked at us with shocked expressions.

Did I do something wrong again? I didn't call him My King, but was I supposed to call him that at every word directed his way? I went over the conversation with Guela. I should really ask if she could write them down as inspirational quotes. I could hang them up in places like the shower so I had time to read them through. Maybe I could decorate them nicely or make a song out of them.
