Chapter Nine

Jake's POV:

Before I could have thought much, the gates opened and a car came out. It was Eric in the car.

He saw me and got out of the car.

“Hello, what’s up?” He asked.

“Eric. Is Elena inside?” I asked him.

“No, she left a few minutes ago for college,” Eric said.

“Okay, thanks,” I said.

“Hey, what’s going on?” He asked, stopping me from leaving.

“Nothing is going on,” I replied.

“You just asked me about my sister, dude.” He said.

“I... did but it’s nothing important. You should think about becoming a lawyer with this nosy attitude of yours.” I said, putting my car in reverse gear and speeding away.

He just stared at my car with his mouth agape.

I arrived at Elena’s college and felt stupid because I had no idea in which class she was.

Should I ask just a random student? I asked myself.

That’s a very stupid idea. My brain said.

I should just wait here and maybe she will see me and then come to me.

It was more than an hour already and I was still waiting for her.
