Chapter 21 Business

The time has finally come. The big day is here, my first day at Paul’s Enterprise Publishing. I’m in an Uber ride on my way to work, as I’m in the car. I look around and see the reflection of the California sun through the window.

I think I’m here.

“You look very professional. Do you work here?” The driver asks.

“Yes, indeed. Today is my first day. Fingers crossed the day goes as planned.” I say.

As I enter the building, I can see Victoria waiting for me. She’s my supervisor apparently, but honestly, she’s like the sweetest woman I’ve ever met.

“Carolina! Great, you're here early. It’s nice to finally meet you in person. We’re honored to have you work here with us.”

“Thank you. It’s truly a wonderful opportunity. I couldn't have given it up, I’m truly honored to work with you and be a part of this incredible company.” I say.

“Love the enthusiasm. You’re just perfect for this position! So let me show you around.” She says.

She walks me over to the elevator and takes me straight up
