LEO’S POV

I had received an unexpected phone call from Doctor Rachel a few days ago.

"Good day, Doctor Rachel," I greeted over the line.

"Good day, Your Highness," she replied smoothly.

"I hope there is no problem?"

"Of course not. I just wanted to let you know that Ivy is... how do I put it... anxious."

I paused what I was doing, leaning back in my executive leather chair and raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well, you invited her to be your plus-one to a party filled with high-ranking wolves, and it's made her anxious... but she’s also excited."

"Hmm. Do you think it's moving too fast?" I asked, my brow furrowing with concern.

"No, in fact, this will help her...help her step out of her comfort zone," she said with ecstatic vigor over the speaker.

I nodded, realizing she couldn't see me through the phone, and quickly added, "Okay. As long as she is safe."

"Ivy might be scared, but she is willing to try," Rachel explained, her voice bright with optimism. "Ivy wants to close the distance between you two, so she is going to be running little 'experiments' to test her boundaries and get comfortable around you. Cooperate with her. Let her set the pace."

I had been surprised, but overwhelmingly relieved. Hearing that she actually wanted to mend the space between us brought a ray of genuine hope into my chest.

For the past three days, I had essentially turned into her personal errand boy and I loved every second of it. Some of her tasks were completely silly, like reaching high shelves or moving furniture that didn't really need to be moved, while others were just plain cute. But without fail, at the end of every task, she would flush pink and ask me to release my pheromones.

That part was torture.

It was agonizingly hard because every time our eyes locked while my scent filled the air, the soft, hazy look in her eyes made it feel like she was begging me to touch her, to take her right then and there. But I forced my wolf to stay down. I knew it was just her body reacting to my royal aura. She hadn't given me her permission or her heart yet, and I refused to cross that line until she was ready.

I shook my head, trying to clear the vivid memories from my mind so I could focus on the stack of high-court letters sitting on my desk.

A soft, hesitant knock sounded at the door.

My wolf perked up instantly. I knew the sweet, delicate trail of her scent long before the wood creaked open.

I looked up as the heavy oak door opened, revealing Ivy standing in the entryway. I kept completely still, holding my breath as I watched her pause for a second in hesitation, clutching the hem of her lavender dress before stepping inside and quietly shutting the door behind her.

Without saying a word, she walked over to the long leather sofa on the far side of the room and sat down.

My heart hammered against my ribs, but I kept my posture relaxed and welcoming. I didn't want to say or do anything sudden that might startle her or ruin her progress. So, I offered her a soft, warm smile, picked up my pen, and pretended to return to my paperwork.

Every few minutes, I stole quiet glances across the warm, dimly lit room. After a while, she kicked off her slippers, curled her slender legs up, and lay down on the couch. Her dark, curious eyes stayed fixed on me, silently watching every move I made as I signed documents and reviewed border reports.

I lost track of time, signing decrees and going through official pack files while her gentle presence grounded my restless wolf better than anything else in the world. Every quiet breath she took filled the study, soothing the volatile Varian blood in my veins. When I finally finished my last file an hour later, I looked back over at the sofa.

She was fast asleep. Her breathing was deep and even, and her long dark lashes rested peacefully against her flushed cheeks.

A quiet, overwhelming warmth blossomed in my chest. I stood up as quietly as possible, stepped out of the study for a brief moment, and returned with a soft, thick throw blanket. I walked over to the couch, holding my breath so I wouldn't wake her, and gently draped it over her sleeping body, tucking it loosely around her shoulders.

She shifted softly in her sleep, burying her face slightly into the warm fabric with a quiet sigh.

Unable to help myself, I bent down, leaning over her defenseless form to press a soft, lingering kiss onto her smooth forehead. I closed my eyes, breathing in her sweet scent, fighting the instinctual roar of my wolf that begged me to gather her up and pull her into my arms.

Instead of going back to my desk or leaving for my own bedroom, I sat down on the soft rug right beside the couch, leaning my back against the leather frame near her feet. I leaned my head back, watching her peaceful, sleeping face in the quiet moonlight until my own eyes grew heavy, and I finally drifted off to sleep right beside her.

IVY’S POVThe quiet hum of the laptop fan was the only sound echoing through Leo’s spacious study. I sat comfortably on the soft leather sofa, the computer resting on my lap as I casually scrolled through the local news and wolf-community blogs, looking for any updates on high-society fashion for the upcoming Apex Gathering. Then, my finger froze over the trackpad.Right at the top of the trending entertainment page was a high-resolution photograph taken just hours ago inside the Royal Palace lobby. It showed Leo standing in his crisp black suit, looking impossibly broad and handsome, while a strikingly breathtaking woman stood close to him. She was laughing, her manicured hand resting intimately on his forearm, leaning into his space as if she belonged there. The glaring headline above the photo read:"High-Society Lovebirds Reunite? Lady Celeste and Crown Prince Leo Spotted Sharing an Intimate Moment Ahead of the Apex Gathering!"A sudden, sharp wave of heat flared deep in my chest.

LEO’S POVThe east sunroom was draped in golden afternoon light, filtering through sprawling floor-to-ceiling glass archways. Steam rose lazily from a delicate porcelain tea set resting on a glass table. My mother, Queen Eleanor, sat in a velvet high-backed chair, her spine straight as a blade, her silver-threaded hair pinned into a flawless royal crown braid."Sit, Leo," she commanded softly, not bothering to lift her eyes from the silk tapestry she was embroidering.I didn't sit. I stood near the archway, resting one hand inside my coat pocket, feeling the small, velvet box containing Ivy's sapphire pendant against my palm. "Sir Desmond said you summoned me, Mother. I have a long drive back to my estate."Queen Eleanor set down her needle and finally looked up. Her cold, sharp amber eyes, so similar to my own scanned my face, searching for any sign of tiredness."I received word from the High Council this morning," she began, her tone measured, every word calculated. "Alpha Marcus A

LEO’S POV"He has lost his damned mind," I growled, slamming my palm down onto the heavy mahogany desk. The mahogany rattled under the force of my Alpha aura, sending a tremble through the glass bottle resting on the tray beside me.Beta Sam and my Delta, Mark, stood across from me in the sunlit study, both holding rigid, defensive postures."What gives Marcus Ashworth the absolute guts to demand her return?" I continued, my voice dangerously low, vibrating with a dark, suffocating rage. "After what they did to her? If I didn’t arrive on time she may have died. He threw her away like trash, and now he dares to send a formal high-court summons demanding his 'rogue ward' back for pack questioning?""Leo, He’s playing a game," Sam said calmly, though his jaw was tightly set. "Marcus is a ruthless political snake. He knows pack law gives an Alpha leverage over unbonded pack members. He knows it is enough to stir up trouble in the High Council. He wants something.""Or someone is pulling h

LEO’S POV"I have a meeting at the high palace today, my love," I said, setting my teacup down on the small plate. "I will leave soon, and I probably will not be back until late tonight."Across the table, Ivy stopped eating. Her dark eyes grew big, and a tiny, cute pout formed on her soft lips. The sad look on her face filled my chest with warm love.I could not help but laugh softly. She was so sweet."Do not worry, I will come back as fast as I can," I promised, giving her a gentle look.I turned to the butler standing by the door. "Tell the driver to bring the car to the front right now.""Yes, Your Highness," the butler bowed and left quickly.I finished my food, wiped my mouth with a napkin, and stood up. Ivy watched me as I walked around the table. I leaned down, held her soft cheek, and kissed her sweet lips. She gasped softly against my mouth, her sweet scent of strawberries filling the air around me.I wanted so badly to cancel my meetings and stay with her, but I forced mys

IVY’S POV"One, two, three. One, two, three," Doctor Rachel counted, clapping her hands to the slow sound of the metronome on the table. "Keep your back straight, Ivy! Keep your head up and relax your shoulders!"Sweat was wet on the back of my neck as I tried not to trip over my long dress. My maid, Lucy, was playing the role of my dance partner, holding her hands out to pretend she was a big Alpha man. Every time I stepped forward, I accidentally stepped on Lucy’s toe."I am so sorry, Lucy!" I squeaked, stopping immediately and hiding my face in my hands."Oh, please do not worry, Lady Ivy!" Lucy laughed, smoothing down her apron. "My feet have seen much worse than your soft shoes, I promise."Doctor Rachel put down her paper board and walked over, handing me a cool, wet towel. "Take a deep breath, Ivy. Your whole body is stiff as a board. Royal dancing is not supposed to be a hard march. It should look easy, like you are floating across the floor on a cloud.""It does not feel like

  • Carrying the Alpha’s Child: Her Wolf Awakens    Chapter Twenty-Two

IVY’S POVI didn’t know the movie I chose was this erotic.Leo was sitting a little distance away from me on the large living room couch. Since the movie started, he had not said a single word. I had read the quick synopsis earlier and picked what was supposed to be a funny action film, but I certainly didn't expect it to have any explicit scenes. I desperately hoped it wouldn't last long.I tried focusing on the screen, but I felt my face instantly heat up as I watched the male lead lift the female character into his arms and carry her aggressively toward the bed.I turned to look at Leo, only to find that he was already looking at me.My cheeks burned fiercely, and I quickly turned away, staring back at the screen. I gasped in shock as the male character began removing her clothes right there. This was getting so much worse.A low, deep chuckle echoed beside me."You didn’t know when you chose the movie, right?" Leo asked, his voice filled with amusement.I buried my face in my hand
