KADEN’S POV

I sighed as I looked over the paperwork strewn across my desk. As I reviewed the budgets for the upcoming quarter, a knock sounded at my office door.

"Come in," I called, glad for a brief distraction.

My secretary Janice poked her head in. "Sorry to bother you Mr. Lodge, but there's a Bianca Ramirez here to see you. She doesn't have an appointment but insists on seeing you."

I frowned. Bianca was the last person I expected to walk through my door. "Did she say what she wants?"

Janice shook her head. "No, just that it's important. What would you like me to tell her?"

I pinched the bridge of my nose. Much as I wanted to avoid Bianca, turning her away without hearing her out didn't feel right. "Send her in, but try to reschedule my next meeting if possible."

Janice nodded and withdrew, closing the door behind her. I took a sip of lukewarm coffee and prepared myself for the encounter. A minute later, the door swung open once more.
