Isabella's POV

I felt my head spinning around as whatever she said was too hard to swallow.

"Wh-What?" Christian stammered, looking at his sister narrow-eyed. "Where is the proof then?"

Betty turned to look at me with a faint smile on her face. "Well, Maria-" Stop calling me Maria. "-have you ever seen any childhood photos of you? Have your parents ever shown them to you?" Betty questioned and Christian and I exchanged glances before I turned to her, answering.

"Uh.. recently after a heated arguement, my mom told me that I was adopted from an orphanage."

"There you go." she said, waving her hands in the air. "She didn't exactly tell you the truth. But she didn't lie eith-"

"Why didn't she tell me that she adopted me from hospital? Why did she say I was an orphan?" I asked and Betty shrugged.

"How would I know that? You have to ask your mom about that yourself. " she told. "but to be frank with you.. your mom too was involved in the crime so maybe she didn't want to entirely disc
