Chapter 59

My face is pressed to the window the entire home. I realize how much I’ve missed home when we pull into the driveway.

It has become some sort of sanctuary for me, a place where I can have peace and love. Drew helps me out of the car, holding my hand as he leads me to the door.

The minute he opens the door Jenny comes running towards me, like she has been waiting the entire time. She hugs my waist like her life depends on it. I put my hand around her shoulders and keep her close to me.

“Are you alright mummy?” she asks softly, gazing at me with her round cute eyes.

I push her hair away from her face. “I’m alright princess, did you miss me?”
