Charming My Ex-Boyfriend

Sarah’s POV

The alarm went off indicating that I should wake up for my last exam this semester. It’s my senior year in college. I’ve waited so long for this semester to end it was a tough one. I got up from bed, took a shower and put on my clothes and I am ready for my last exam. I took my car keys, notes to revise from and headed to the college. I went straight to the hall that the exam is held in. After the exam has finished, I went to the cafeteria with Noah and Penny my two best friends.

“When are you going back to Turkey?” Noah asked. Yes, I am from Turkey actually from a very wealthy family in Turkey and 3 years ago I came here to Harvard to study Computer Engineering. “My flight is tomorrow morning” I said. “Are you excited to return?” Penny then asked. It’s been 3 years since I returned to Turkey and this mid-year vacation my grandfather decided that I have to come back and enough with my “lame” excuses as he would say and that he and all of my family missed. To be completely honest I still haven’t totally forgiven him for what he did 3 years ago but he apologized many times through these past years so I decided to call it off after all he did what he did for my own good. “Honestly I don’t know” I replied. “Why because you’re going to see him again?” Noah then asked. “No, but a lot has happened since I was there and I think I am not ready to face it” I said. Yes, I am not ready to face HIM after what happened between us 3 years ago and certainly, I wasn’t ready to answer all of his questions. “But at some point, you have to do it you know” Penny said while drinking her juice. “So, take it as if fate has decided for you when are you going to face it” she continued. “Well, enough talking about Turkey. What are we going to do tonight?” I asked trying to change the subject. “Absolutely nothing. Go home sleep and then wake up and watch TV” Penny answered. “What?? No. We have to celebrate we have finally finished this semester” I said. “I think Sarah is right we have to celebrate” Noah agreed. “No, you guys go and celebrate or whatever I am good” Penny said. That is our relationship me and Noah are the party animals we and Penny is the introvert. “You’re lame.” I said pouting. “Hey Sarah” a guy I recognize his name was Jake said. “Hi” I answered. “Do you have plans for tonight?” he asked. Here we go again. Since I entered college all the guys in this college have been asking me out and I have to come up with any excuse in order to not go out with them. “Actually, I have to pack today as I am travelling tomorrow morning” which wasn’t a complete lie. “Oh, too bad I wanted to go out with you tonight” he said with a sad face. “Sorry” I said with a faint smile and he went back to his table. “He’s hot” Penny said. “I don’t care” I said while looking at my phone. “Seriously, why do you reject all of these guys?” Noah asked. “Why do you reject all of the girls that are throwing themselves at you?” I answered with a question although I know the answer. Noah since he was young, he loved only one girl which is his ex-girlfriend, Mira. They grew up with each other as their parents were the best of friends and when Noah came to Harvard it was all the long-distance drama as she was still in high school. Noah wanted Mira to come to Harvard too and she got accepted but that wasn’t what she really wanted and when Noah knew that he decided to break up with her so as for her to make the right choice. Although it’s been a year, but Noah still loves her. “You know the answer to this question” he answered. “But what I don’t understand why you don’t want to go out with these guys? Do you still love him?” he asked. Do I still love him? “Hell no it’s ancient history” I answered immediately. “You’re a terrible liar” Penny said. “I am not lying it’s the truth. I don’t love him anymore” yes I don’t love him anymore. Penny narrowed her eyes saying “Okay”. After finishing at the cafeteria, I headed home in order to get ready for tonight. When I was almost ready, I heard my phone ring revealing the caller ID to be my mother. “Hi mom” I said as I answered my phone. “Well, hello dear. How was your exam today?” mom asked. “Great” I answered her questions. “Did you pack or not yet?” she asked. Typical mom she has to check for every detail. “No, I am going out tonight and when I return, I am going to pack” I answered. “Okay dear. When is your flight tomorrow?” she asked. “10 am”

“Do you want me to wake you up?” seriously? How old am I 9?? “No mom I think my alarm is functioning properly” I said. “Oh, here comes your filthy tongue” she said. “Mom I have to go. I’ll call you tomorrow. Bye” and just like that I hung up.

After going to Peter’s party, I returned home at 2 in the morning completely exhausted from the night. It was fun but I have to pack my things as I have to be at the airport by 8. I started packing while I was packing, I found my red dress. The RED DRESS. I didn’t know I brought it here with me I thought I left back in Turkey. This dress was his favorite, he gave it to me on my 17^th birthday. I packed the dress and when I finished packing it was 3 in the morning. I set my alarm on 6 am and went to bed wondering what will happen when I return back tomorrow? Will I even see him? What is his life like now? Is there someone in his life now? I drifted to sleep while thinking what will the next 2 months be like.
