Shana and my dad had introduced me to the elders. They decided it would be best if I moved in with them and went through invasive training. I’d been with them for three months now and my training was almost complete. I'd learned how to hone my skills and control my power, but I still hadn’t been taught how to track Chase. The elders wanted to leave that skill till last, because they were worried that I would quit my training once I’d learned how to find him and bring him home. Seeing Jesse's vulnerability bought us so much closer as a couple. I wasn’t embarrassed by it and it didn’t feel weird to me. I understood how he felt. I’d managed to fall asleep somehow. How I did with all that anxiety and embarrassment running through me, I don’t know. When I finally awoke the sun was rising in the sky. I could smell the morning dew and hear the birds chattering outside. Their songs were sweet, some what enthusiastic and it bought a smile to my face. But the smile was short lived.
