AURELIA

~<>~

Despite being back in the apartment, I still didn’t feel at peace. Yes, I was happy to have my son with me, hale and healthy. It gladdens my heart to see Kyle and Katie playing together again.

I was happy my daughter didn’t have to worry and my son didn't have to deal with trauma.

But a lot doesn’t seem right.

There was a void in the depth of my soul.

“Are you yearning to kill Larisa?” Inara asked, trying to understand the void in our soul.

She could feel it as well.

“I do but that’s not all. I have tons of questions, Inara.” I responded, confusion oozing off my pores.

Fortunately, Hazel entered the bedroom, saving me from myself as she uttered, “So when do we start packing?”

“Packing?” I asked, blinking my confusion away.

“Packing to go home, Aurelia. We have to return, right?” Hazel clarified.

I nodded quickly, “Yes, of course. We are going home. Jessica needs to be buried properly and in her homeland.”

Mentioning Jessica stirred buried emotions in both Hazel

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   119: Prove My Worth?

DAVIEN~~Truly, Jarrett’s crimes weren’t severe enough to get him a death sentence, and as much as that killed me to admit—because I wanted him dead—I had to. After all, he didn’t commit any crime, aside from the part where he contacted the banished witches. All he did was plot and scheme. While that could get him punished, it wouldn’t get him killed. My joy knew no bounds when Jarrett announced with his own mouth, “I would rather die than become their prisoner!”However, it was short-lived when Alpha King Raiden decided to ignore him and pass a fair judgment.“All Alphas and Lunas that were involved in this scheme are hereby out of office with immediate effect. Their authorities have been stripped, and they will be transported to the Royal prison back in Dark Moon Pack.”The King continued, his voice loud and commanding, “For the Betas and Gammas who went behind their Alphas and Lunas’ backs to join hands with Jarrett, you will be transported to the Royal Prison to serve your time

Princess Katie Anne~~I understood that my mom was greatly disturbed, but who would have thought she would throw that question to the crowd, especially to the people of Black Fur?The witches were banned because they were bad for the realm, so why on earth would she even consider bringing them back?“Because the witches won’t stop trying to come back to this realm, Katie,” Zuri answered that question and went on to explain herself by saying, “The human realm wasn’t designed for them. That place is killing them, so they keep trying to get back to this realm even if it means turning us against ourselves.”Then Zoe chimed in, “True. First, they got Tristan’s parents, then Larisa and Tristan, and now they have managed to get their claws into Jarrett as well. We have to break the cycle if we want true peace.”I didn’t think it was fair to blame the witches for the actions of the greedy people Zoe just mentioned, but the outburst from the crowd stopped me from countering my wolves.“What

DAVIEN~~The arrival of the King and Queen in the arena had everyone standing and bowing—everyone but Katie and me. Perks of being part of the royal family. The tension around the arena thickened, the foul smell of fear and anxiety invading my nostrils as the King and Queen went to settle down together with the council and other Alphas and Lunas in the realm.“Auntie Suzy is here!” Katie breathed happily when she saw Susanna. “She must be here to represent Grandma Mia Lu.”Mia Lu happened to be one of the oldest members of the council, and her absence didn’t seem like good news to me. Within a second, Katie realized that as well, and the smile on her face fell. Her eyes darted to me before they shifted to her parents, her silent question shining brightly in those orbs.“Grandma Mia has been sick. That’s why Auntie Suzy is here.” Elora announced suddenly.Obviously, she had read Katie’s mind again, but this time, my mate couldn’t rebuke her. Instead, she pulled her sister closer, as

  • Chasing His Betrayed Luna   116: Jarrett's Blood

Princess Katie Anne~~Even though it’s been many hours since Jarrett was looked up, I was still in shock. I mean, it happened so fast, and the fact that Jarrett was getting involved with the banished witches in the human realm made me feel uneasy.Or maybe it was because my mom has been gloomy since Elora exposed Jarrett’s secret, even before Luna Cynthia could.I hate seeing my mom worried or in pain, especially when I wasn’t the cause of it. It would be a different story if she were worried about me not talking to her or in pain because I wouldn’t listen to her.But this story was about a past she had fought so hard to keep in the past and overcome.“They will be fine, Kat.” My mate’s solemn voice echoed in my head, forcing me to look in his direction as he added, “We will all be fine.”He could tell I was worried about my parents, as I wouldn’t want to see them unraveling, just like he was worried about us because we were navigating a dangerous path that might blow up in our fac

DAVIEN~~“You’re my hero.”Clearly, Elora didn’t understand the situation. Although she was a smart girl, she was still too young to comprehend the shift in the atmosphere fully. Or maybe she just didn’t care as she walked up to me and hugged me. But that wasn’t the case for Alpha King Raiden. Heck, that wasn’t the case for Luna Queen Aurelia, who was just reminded of a past that nearly claimed her current life. Perhaps his mate’s discomfort got to him, or he was purely acting on his own emotions. Alpha King Raiden lashed out, “You have just a minute to explain yourself, Jarrett.” The tension in the guest apartment's living room grew palpably thick. Clearly, things had escalated unexpectedly, and the duel of Alphas was now the least of Jarrett’s concerns.“I would never reach out to the witches in the human world, King Raiden. I know better than to do that after what happened the last time.” Jarrett quickly uttered those words, trying desperately to convince the King and Queen,

Princess Katie Anne~~“I trust my son to make me proud.”Those were my dad’s words, and their effect on Davien brought a smile to my face. I could feel the heavy burden on my mate’s heart fading away as he listened to my parents and felt what parental love should feel like.Although my parents and I had spoken about the battle of Alphas through the mind link while Jarrett awaited a response, I didn't have to convince them or plead with them to take Davien's side. They did that willingly, even though they could be accused of being biased by Alpha Jarrett. While my eyes found Davien’s twinkling ones, Alpha Jarrett quickly blurted, “You can’t take sides even before the duel, My King, and neither can you, Queen Aurelia. There are rules.”He sounded like a broken record if I was being honest, and my mom did hesitate to say to him, “The rules cease to exist the second you decided to go behind our backs and lobby for support to take the throne instead of coming forward legally. Oh, you for
