LOGINChapter 2 : Wanted by the Alpha
Madeline
Nothing beats the saying “Everything happens for a reason.”
Back then, I regretted everything that had happened.I regret throwing myself on his bed, with my legs open, but now, the story has changed.
Sometimes mistakes do turn into blessings. And here's mine.
In just six years, my life changed drastically, into a miserable one to the most perfect life one could ever ask for. From being a poor low orphan, whose parents were killed as traitors, to producing a three different life out of you, that becomes your family and calls you mother daily with laughter that brightens your day and makes you forget everything you've ever been true.
Not only did I become a mother to three beautiful babies, two boys and a girl, but I also trained myself, and became one of the best doctors in the human world. As if that wasn't enough, the moon goddess blessed me with the best human husband I could ever ask for.
“Mommy! Wake up. You promised pancakes today.” the soft, tiny voice which I would recognise even in a coma echoed in, snapping me out of my thoughts and indicating it's a new day.
Matthew, my first son jumped on the bed, he was the most stubborn but also the most lovely among them. He looks so much like his father, and every time I look at him, I remember his father. My childhood best friend who I haven't heard from, for the past six years.
I wonder if he's still alive or probably dead, either way, I don't care.
I am glad he's out of my life and I was able to move on from the past.
“Matthew, give your mother a break,” Mason, his twin, scolded with his small serious voice, making me giggle. “She worked late last night.”
“Who cares?” Matthew rolled his eyes in annoyance. “She promised.”
Then, a soft giggle echoed from the corner of the bed. It was Mia. My baby girl. The youngest, and the only girl, but she had the power to melt me with her smile.
I close my eyes, pretending to be tired just to hear her giggle more. I love the sound of her giggling, she crawling to my body and her hands grabbing my hair, I just love it all.
“Mommy, pancakes.” she whispered, crawling and grabbing my hair like I had expected.
“Okay, okay, fine.” I sat up finally, looking at the three beautiful faces staring at me with so much love.
“But if only you'll help me mix the floor.” They didn't protest or grumpy, they seem excited to do it
“Yah!” they chorused, running towards the kitchen like a little army while I followed them.
“Come take your bath, kids, you wouldn't want to be late for school,” a gentle, soft voice that always wakes the butterfly in my stomach rolled into my ears, making me blush.
The man you see right there, whose voice just echoed in, is my husband. William.
A kind hearted soul which was sent to me as a compensation by the moon goddess.
Six years ago, when I left the moon crest pack to the human world, I Found out I was pregnant as a result of the one night stand I had with Rowan that night.
Fortunately, I was carrying not one but three beautiful life inside of me. Two boys and one girl. After I gave birth and the triplets were one year plus, I went back to school and along the line, I met William. My husband, who fell for me at first sight. His love even grew stronger for me when he realized I was a single mother to three beautiful children, he promised to take care of them as his own and we got married under a year of dating.
So since then, he's been taking care of Rowan children as his own and even till now.
I couldn't count my blessings without him. William was my Piller, he's totally my God in human form.
“ Morning, my queen,” he whispered, running his hands over my hair before kissing my cheeks.
“Morning,” I replied with a soft smile.
Then, he bent down to hug the kids.
“ Let's leave mommy to make the pancakes, I will get you all ready for school.”
What exactly would I do without him? My sweet husband.
After breakfast, I dropped the kids at school and headed to the hospital where I worked. Everyone at the hospital loves me, my colleague, and my patient.
At first, I thought life in the human world would be hard, but fortunately, it wasn't. It was so much easier than the pack life. where I always felt below everyone else and I never regret leaving the moon crest pack to the human world.
Here in the human world, everyone is equal and you don't need to have a rank before you can be respected.

After a long stressful day, I finally got into the car, normally, I would have been home before 7pm, but today, I happened to work late, and checking the time, it was already 9pm.
Fuck! The last patient had come in at 7pm, just when I was about to leave, his case seemed to be rare, and I was the only one who could treat him. That's why I was known as one of the best doctors.
So by the time I was done, time had already passed 8pm. I'm sure by now, my husband and the kids are freaking out right now, coupled with the fact that I wasn't able to take his call, even up till now. He was still calling.
I stretched out my hands to where I kept my phone as it buzzed for the third time.
Fear creeps its way around my body, shocking me, the moment my eyes detect a figure, standing in the middle of the road. Instantly, I halted my car and quickly got up to check what it was.
I knew it wasn't safe to check, but what if someone needed my help?
The figure stood there, not moving. Eager to see what it was, I leaned closer only to see a big grey wolf, lying on the road.
No, this was a sign. Something wasn't right.
Quickly, I retraced my steps slowly, trying not to draw the attention of the wolf, but unfortunately, it was too late as I could feel the scent of other wolves, their eyes watching me.
Within a few seconds, they appeared from the shadows and stood in front of me. They were four in number, all in wolf form.
“It seems she's the one.” The middle one said. “Yes, she has her smell.” The other one added. I could hear their voices, not out loud, but in my head, like whispers carried by the wind.
My voice felt dry and frightened, but I forced out the words.
“What do you want? Who are you?”
“We are not here to harm you,” one answered . Alpha Rowan requests your presence.”
At the mention of his name, my stomach dropped, butterflies that I thought had died years ago suddenly came out alive again.
What does he need me for? After all these years? Or does he know about the triplets? Our children?
Chapter 42Madeline’s POVI dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom, splashing cold water on my face. The image of his glowing eyes still haunted me. Something was wrong, deeply wrong, and I could feel it in my bones.Downstairs, the house was silent. The triplets had already left for school; William had driven them before I woke up. I was grateful for the quiet, but also uneasy. The stillness made my mind restless.I sat at the kitchen table, staring at my untouched cup of tea. My phone buzzed beside me—it was a message from Rowan.“Stay alert. Don’t go anywhere alone today. And keep the kids inside after school.”No greeting, no explanation. Just that.I bit my lip, rereading the message over and over. My fingers trembled as I typed back:“What’s going on? Why were you at my house last night?”He didn’t reply.I exhaled shakily, placing the phone down. If Rowan was warning me, then whatever danger was coming had to be close.Still, I went to the hospital because I couldn’t j
Chapter 41When I arrived at the hospital, everything looked normal on the surface. Nurses were already moving about, the smell of antiseptic filled the air, and faint murmurs echoed from the hallways. But deep down, I knew something was wrong. I could feel it.“Good morning, ma’am,” my assistant greeted as soon as I stepped into my office.“Morning,” I replied flatly, dropping my bag on the table. “How’s the patient in Ward Seven?”“She’s stable,” the assistant said carefully, though her tone hinted she wasn’t entirely sure. “But… she asked to see you again.”I let out a quiet sigh, removing my white coat from the chair and putting it on. “Alright. I’ll go.”Walking down the hallway, I could feel the tension growing stronger. My wolf stirred inside me uneasily, warning me that this wasn’t a simple case. When I pushed the ward door open, Autumn was sitting up in bed, her hair neatly brushed this time, her expression calm. She smiled. “Doctor Madeline.”Her voice carried an odd warmth,
Chapter 40The sound of the rain outside mixed with the quiet sobs that escaped from Madeline’s lips. She sat on the edge of the bed, her fingers clenched tightly around the small pendant Rowan had once given her. It glowed faintly in her palm, like a reminder of a bond she was trying so hard to forget. She lifted her eyes when the door creaked open and William stepped in. His expression was calm, but his eyes carried exhaustion. He had been out for most of the day, trying to sort out the papers for their relocation.“Are you okay?” he asked gently, dropping his briefcase on the chair.Madeline nodded, but her silence told another story. She couldn’t bring herself to look at him for long. Not when guilt weighed so heavily on her.“You have barely touched your dinner,” he said, walking closer. “Is it still the headache?”She shook her head slowly. “No. I’m fine. Just… tired.”William sighed and sat beside her. “You’ve been saying that a lot lately, Maddie. Talk to me. Did something hap
Chapter 39 Three weeks passed quietly after Madeline and her family settled in the small town near the river. The air there was different—soft and peaceful, far from the heavy tension of the werewolf world. The sound of children laughing in the garden filled their mornings, and the scent of wildflowers carried through their open windows.Madeline had begun to believe that maybe, just maybe, peace was possible.Every morning she helped the triplets get ready for school. Ethan and Ella always argued about whose shoes were cleaner, while Evan complained that his breakfast was too hot. William watched them all with a tired smile as he tied his tie for work.Madeline stood by the doorway, her heart full as she looked at her family. This was what she had always dreamed of—a normal life without blood, fights, or orders. Just love.“Mom, can I take the blue lunch box today?” Ella asked.Madeline smiled and handed it over. “Only if you promise not to lose it this time.”Ella nodded eagerly an
Chapter 38 The night air was cold and heavy as Rowan returned to his packhouse. Every step he took felt slower than the last. His wolf was restless inside him, clawing to be let out, but he fought to keep control. He had done what he thought was right by letting Madeline go, yet nothing about it felt right. It felt like something had been ripped out of him. When he entered his room, the silence was unbearable. The scent of Madeline still lingered faintly on his bed sheets. He sat on the edge of the bed and pressed his palm against his chest as pain tore through him. It was not physical pain. It was deeper. It was the pain of a bond breaking. His wolf howled inside him, resisting it, refusing to let go of their mate. Rowan clenched his jaw and forced a deep breath. “Calm down,” he whispered to himself. “She made her choice.”But his wolf did not listen. He could feel the animal in him trembling with rage and sorrow. His hands shook as his eyes glowed gold. He stood up and punched the
Chapter 37The next morning, Rowan stood in his office, staring at a map spread across the desk. Red marks covered the paper, circling several human towns. He had sent his best scouts to search for William and the triplets, but so far, there was no trace of them. His patience was wearing thin. Every passing day without them felt like fire in his chest. He wanted to see his children, to prove that they were his, and to make Madeline understand that she belonged by his side. When his beta, Connor, entered the room, Rowan’s eyes lifted sharply. “Tell me you have news,” he said.Connor nodded slightly. “We might have found something. One of our trackers caught the scent of wolves near the southern border. A woman and three children were spotted traveling with a man who fits William’s description.”Rowan’s hand tightened into a fist. “Where?”“Near the human village close to the river,” Connor replied. “They were moving at night, keeping to the woods. It looks like they’re trying to reach
