I smiled when I heard Aron's voice. I turned around and looked at him. His gaze was calm and curious.

I wrapped my hands around his neck and answered,

"You abandoned me. I called you, but you didn't pick up."

He tilted his head, smirking at me. "I wanted to see if you could handle yourself if you got lost here."

I was surprised to hear him. "Did you think I was going to panic?"

He did not respond, which made his answer clear to me. I removed my hands from his neck and muttered,

"Come on, Alpha. I am twenty, not five."

I back away, turning to face the lake. But he grabbed my hand. I looked at him.

"Let's go."

"Where?" I asked with a surprised look.

I became sad that he was talking about going back to the pack house. We had not even enjoyed the journey completely.

"Somewhere I selected for us," he replied.

I saw him moving away from the lake in another direction. I was taken aback when he went into the woods near the lake.
