Chapter 17

I was talking to Emily for hours, it felt like we had never been apart.

She told me about how she spends more time with my mum because her own was always focused on her brother.

I told her about how my former friend had rejected me and how I had ended up meeting Sebastian.

I mentioned how my wolf had shown up late and all the things we had both missed in each other's lives.

The conversation with Emily was so natural, not forced at all. I loved that we could talk so freely with each other.

I didn't talk that much with my brother, just the usual "How have you been" question. I guess we weren't that close or maybe he partially blames me for causing Dad's death.

Before they left for their pack the next day, I went to arrange the room they would sleep in. After dinner, I said goodnight and went to meet Sebastian in the room.

"I don't need to ask if you're happy to see them," Sebastian said. "I can see how you've been smiling all day."

"You ignored the part where I was crying, right?
