FAZER LOGINABEL "I will inform the King that the Princess of Silvermere bought the slave as a gift for her father," Sir Bowman says, bowing in front of the young future alpha queen of Silvermere. She is enticingly beautiful just as the stories say. But why is she buying me? There are more stronger slaves she could have picked. "We would have loved to clean him up for you if you weren't in such a hurry to-" "Is that the actual illegitimate Prince?" she cuts off the guard, her powerful but mesmerizing voice resonating with authority. "Yes your highness. This is the b*st*rd son of his majesty's banished wife," Sir Bowman affirms, stepping aside to give the lady an unobstructed view. * * * * * In the kingdom of Edrath, strength is everything. Abel Everhart has none—or so he’s been told since the day he was cast out of his father's palace and branded a human slave. But when the powerful Crown of Elowen awakens for the first time in centuries, it doesn't choose a werewolf warrior. It chooses Abel. He expected to die a slave, serving the very brothers who stole his birthright. He never expected to be bought by Rowena of Silvermere, the most lethal and mesmerizing Alpha Queen in the realm. Rowena doesn't do charity. She doesn't save "damsels in distress," and she certainly doesn't care for King Roderick’s bloodline. But when the ancient Crown of Elowen points it's magic toward a man in shackles, Rowena makes her cunning move. She buys Abel as her rightful property. To others he is just her plaything, but to her he is the key to a a Crown meant to rule Kings.
Ver maisABEL EVERHART'S POV My mother's eyes widen when she notices me. She gapes for a long moment, looking uncertain who it is. I wouldn't blame her, I was only five when she was banished. How would she recognize me?Still she stares, clearly curious. "Abel . . . your Majesty," she mumbles in low tone. "Yes mother, it's me," I say."Oh Lord! Yes . . . look at you!" she exclaims, marching forward and dragging my sister with her. "You have grown so tall . . . and more Good-looking than any man. Is all I have heard true?" She stands on her toes to wrap her hands around my shoulders. I hug her back. "Mother you should . . . ask permission to hug him. He is a royal," my sister cautions. "It's alright, honey. This is your brother, the one I have been telling you about. He is not like other royals," mother dismisses. "Come on, hug him," she urges, stepping back and pushing her daughter forward. The girl is hesitant. So I step closer and hug her. She smiles as she leans her head on my chest.
"He is alive. I just wanted to know for sure that you knew him," her Majesty reveals. I sigh in relief. At least not all of my friends are dead. "You should get to the bathroom and clean up the filth of the dungeons. You're still my consort," she orders. I am back to that too. Uncertain if her sweet attention is real or pretense once again. I get of the bed and walk to the bathroom. I too wanted to feel a little less filthy. I spent days sleeping on a cold, dirty floor. I bath and rub fine oils on my skin, except on the skin of my back which stings. I return to the bed, a towel wrapped around my waist. I start to make my way towards the closet but she stops me, orders that I lay on the bed without the night robes. She gets some oils from the closet and rubs on the red marks on my back. Even now, my body foolishly finds her touch quite lulling. * * * * * * *ABEL EVERHART'S POV I get off the bed and notice the presence of two maids in the room. One cleaning the floor, the othe
ABEL EVERHART'S POV The servants and the guards hurry out as soon as her Majesty steps into the room. Her expression is stern, but it shifts to that of concern as soon as she strides closer. I don't even know what to say to her. I no longer know what is true or false anymore. Her fingers touch my chin tilts my head up, forcing me to look at her face. "You're looking better. More food will bring life back to your eyes," she says as if nothing happened. "I thought you wanted me hungry and dead. You just changed your mind?" She lets go of my chin and brushes hair back from my face. "I wasn't in my right mind. Did you know that the old Oracle was Cara's mother?" What?! That cannot be. We never talked about Cara's family, but she would have let me know if her mother was that dark Oracle. On the other hand, she seemed to know a lot about magic items and how the crown works. Where else would she have gotten such knowledge. If that were the case, then she might have been seeking the
