Chapter 126

Ryder's POV

I was mad at myself, Kaid was mad at me and it was understandable. The way I handled the situation was poor but I didn't expect it that particular moment when she just rejected her mate, so it was safe to say that it kinda caught me by surprise.

Kaid rolled his eyes, “That's the worst excuse you have come up with so far." He said. “Let me know when you come up with more." Sarcasm rolling off each of his words.

Ignoring him, I pulled a jacket from my closet, ready to be on the move again. Tailing Luna Clarissa wasn't so hard, she hasn't left the house in hours and neither has Alpha Tyler. So Caleb offered to watch them both and let me know when she was on the move…which he did five minutes ago.

“Why the fuck are you not here yet?" His angry voice came again.

“I'm almost there, calm the fuck down." I fired back. Tailing someone has to be the least interesting part of the job after paper–

“Allie…” I called, my face scrunching up in surprise…mor

Finally! Allie and Ryder. Those two have stressed me enough! And poor Kaia! Does she even get a break?

Chapter 127 Kaia's POV I was still not over the fact that my picture was taken without my knowledge and somehow, it was sitting on my bed. The girls were trying their best to comfort me, assuring me that nothing was going to happen. Dylan moved closer to where we were sitting, his hands in his pocket, his eyes blank. “Caleb is getting the warriors ready." He announced and I frowned. “Warriors? Why?" “It's just to be careful." He explained. “We don't want to be caught by surprise. Not that we think they're going to come or anything.” He added. I know he was trying to make me feel better but it wasn't working. My hand wrapped itself around my stomach, fear setting in. Several thoughts running through my head. "What if they actually come? What would happen to my pup?” "Let's just call Kieran, you'll feel better if he's here.” Allie suggested. And as if he could hear our conversation, the phone rang and his name was displayed boldly on the screen…he was the only one I call.

Chapter 128 Kieran's POV We arrived at the Pack a few hours later…about five or six hours. The warriors on patrol didn't hesitate to let us in once they saw who it was and we went straight to Dylan's house, with the aid of one of the warriors since we had no idea where he lived. Pack members quickly surrounded us the moment the car stopped and it took all the self control I had and repeated reminders about why we were here from King for me to not turn back and teach them one or two lessons for the hell they put Kaia through. “Alpha." The woman, who I guessed was Dylan's mom, greeted, bowing her head. I could see the slight resemblance between herself and Dylan…their eyes. If she was surprised by my presence, she was doing a great job hiding it as she opened the door widely to let me in. “Can I get you something to drink, Alpha?” "Let's cut out the drama, shall we?” I started, not in the mood for any pleasantries. "You know why I'm here, so let's get to it." Bei

Chapter 129 Kaia's POV I woke up with a start, causing my head to start aching me with how fast I stood up. But Kieran was by my side in an instant, holding me up and helping me sit properly. The first thing that came to mind was the fact that I was in a different room and it looked familiar…Allie's room. The incident that led to me fainting came rushing back and fear gripped me, hoping it was some sort of nightmare and that it didn't really happen. “Dylan…where's Dylan?” I asked, moving to stand up from the bed, ignoring the pain that shot through me. "He cannot die…he was trying to save me." I cried. “Bella," Kieran called, trying to hold me in place but I pushed his hand away and hurt flashed through his eyes, “Take me to Dylan, I can heal him." I sobbed. I could feel Lylah's presence, although she wasn't saying anything. “Why were both of them not answering me? Did he really die?” My entire body felt weak I wasn't sure if the moon goddess was to blame in this

Chapter 130 Kaia's POV “Let me get this straight," I began, my eyes darting to Dylan on the bed and back to the siblings, who just told me what has to be the most insane tale I've heard in all of my existence and as weird as it sounded, the proof was right in front of me. “I have the ability to form a shield if I'm in danger?" I asked, and the siblings nodded. “It was so cool…shocking and confusing at first, but you kinda get used to it.” Allie said, smiling widely. I turned to Kieran because for someone who was thrown against the wall just the previous day, she was sounding way too cheerful for my confused self, who was trying to make sense of everything they told me. Apparently, seeing Dylan get hurt somehow triggered my protective side which caused me to release the shield. And it wasn't just any shield, as the moment it came upon them, it began to heal them as well, which was one of reasons Dylan was alive. "Do you think the moon goddess is using me as an experime

Chapter 131Kaia's POV Kieran shifted uncomfortably as she came closer and with each step that she took, I tried to make myself smaller into the chair but that did nothing to ease the dread I felt just looking at the woman who singularly made my life miserable. Lylah was also pacing around in my head. “Why would Kieran bring her here?" She asked me. The look on the guys face told me they knew about her being here. I felt Kieran reach for my hand but I pulled it away, betrayed that knowing fully well what she did to me, he still let her into the Pack. “It’s not what you think, Bella.” He said through our mindlink. I snorted, standing up. “You have an explanation for why this woman is here? Beautiful!” I exclaimed and without waiting for whatever his explanation was going to be, I stormed out of the room. "Bella–" But I was already gone, storming past Katherine, Dylan's mom as I went. Kieran's footsteps were behind me. “Come on Bella, listen to me.” He called, as h

Chapter 132 Felix’s POV “They knew we were coming…they fucking knew we were coming!” I growled. I had been so certain Kieran wasn't in the Pack when we got there, but when he showed up halfway, it confirmed the fact that he knew something was up. Instead of catching them by surprise, it was the other way around but there was no way I was going to give up. We were already there and she was going to come back with me no matter what. “We lost a lot of men, Boss." My second in command, who was nursing a bruise of his own said. “No doubt they were expecting us. Do you think we have a mole among us?" He asked. A mole? My men knew better than to betray me. And if by mistake there was, they had better die in the fight because by the time I was done with them, they'd be praying for death. For a few seconds, the thought of Nessa going behind me crossed my mind but that girl hated them more than I did, so I pushed the thoughts away. Another thing that made this mission unsuccessful,

Chapter 133 Aiden's POV Dylan was fucking with me! He was pushing me to the wall. Sleeping in the dungeon for what he did, was the best punishment he could ask for, but that seemed to only fuel his motivation to disobey me after I clearly gave an order. “Do you want us to bring him back?" Derek, my Gamma asked, his eyes fixed on me as he waited for my instruction. I shook my head. Unlike the last time when he disappeared without a trace, his whereabouts now wasn't a secret. The thought that he might be carrying out the end of the deal crossed my mind, where he would give me all the information I needed. But that didn't seem like the Dylan I grew up with. His new found relationship with Kaia was amusing. Before now, he didn't hide how much he hated his mom moving on and marrying her dad. But now, he was acting like a saint. “Alpha," one of my warriors called through the mindlink, the urgency in his voice jerking me out of my thoughts and back to the present. “Wh

Chapter 134Kieran's POV Kaia was still finding it hard coming to terms with the fact that the woman she knew all her life, who she mourned after her death wasn't her real mother and I couldn't blame her…no one could. Even though she argued that that was the only mother she had, it was obvious from her eyes how much she wanted to know about her birth parents. And looking for information without knowing where to start from was harder than it looked. The witch Katherine spoke about was delayed and that was the only clue we had. The records about the prophecy was something the Elders kept and bringing them into it when we weren't certain about anything was like a ticking bomb waiting to explode. For some reason, they held their peace about Kaia's position but I didn't put it past them to blow things out of proportion. “But we need answers!" King reminded me. “We do, but we also need to make sure our mate can handle whatever comes with it." He nodded, just as the door

Chapter 150 Allie's POV There was a permanent grin on my face, not even the scumbag of Kaia's adopted father could ruin it. How one person could be that shameless was beyond me. It was barely over a week since Katherine had been with us and instead of being worried, he was already finding ways to replace her. He was worse than a pig which sleeps around. I decided to take a look around the Pack where Kaia grew up in even though she didn't have the best time. “The Pack looks cursed." Rhea mocked. “I wouldn't be surprised if it is. The moon goddess does like playing games." Pack members who were outside had their eyes on me, as they murmured to each other, asking who I was and what I was looking for but nobody spoke up. I stopped in my tracks when I realized I didn't tell Ryder anything and I didn't put it past him to be panicking if he didn't find me once he was done. So I decided to go back before I was tempted to treat all of them a lesson for being idiots. “We

Chapter 149 Ryder's POV With the new information on ground, Kieran wanted to catch two birds with one stone. So all hands were on deck to make sure that this plan was a success. But he had a separate mission for me. Nora had mentioned that after Luna Kaia was born, a locket was worn around her neck so that when she grew up, she would have an idea about her identity but obviously, she didn't see it which means it was still somewhere in her former Pack and her Dad…adopted father would have an idea about it. We knew almost everything about her identity, but it was the last and probably the only thing Luna Kaia received from her biological father, so I was going to get it back and probably put some sense into him. “How many days are you going to spend there?" Allie asked, pouting as she watched me get ready to leave. “I should be back at the latest tomorrow…I don't think I'm going to survive more than a day without you.” She grinned widely, "how about I come along? Chapter 148 Dylan's POV I was in shock as I continued staring at the girl…Nora. The way she put herself in front of me was making my wolf go crazy. My mind was no longer on what was being discussed in the room, all I wanted was to talk to her…alone, to confirm I wasn't imagining things. “Keep your eyes on her," Alpha Kieran commanded, bringing me back to the present. “I need to talk to Ryder about something." Nodding slightly, I led her out of the office and immediately we were out, she hastened her footsteps, trying to get away, but I was fast, grabbing her arms and the sparks which I had thought was a fragment of my imagination earlier, shot through me again. I could tell she felt it too. “What was that?" She feigned a confused look, “what was what?" She asked, snatching her arm out of my hand. I let out a frustrated sigh, my wolf wanted to take control but that would be a mistake on my part. He was far from being patient and the girl in front of me needed a whole

Chapter 147 Kaia's POV The door opened and Dylan entered with a familiar face standing beside him…Nora! I haven't seen her as much since I ran away and was brought back. She had her head facing the ground and Dylan…well, he looked like him, just a little tense. “You know her?" Dylan asked, not masking his shock. I nodded, “she works in the kitchen." I replied. “What did you do to her? She looks like she wants to disappear." Kieran snorted as he sat upright, his arms around me loosening. “You found something?” He asked, clearly not interested in small talk. Dylan nodded and stepped forward, stretching a phone to Kieran. "She was talking to her mom about Luna Kaia, and there are pictures of her on the phone.” He said. “I think it might be connected to the attack." He added, his voice low as he spoke and he looked away from her. My eyes widened, my jaw dropped as I looked at the girland I found it hard to believe, considering how many times she defended me in the presence

Chapter 146 Dylan's POV No matter how many times I repeated it to myself that I was acting under a spell, it didn't help the guilt I felt, especially when I saw the bruises on Alpha Kieran's body. No doubt he didn't fight back which made everything worse. “You're here again." Allie said, “you're stealing my thinking spot and I don't think I like it." She added, coming to sit beside me on the bench. The pavilion was her favorite spot and because it was mostly secluded, it became mine too. “Thinking spot, huh? What else do you have to think about? You're the happiest I've seen you." Her smile widened, “I am happy…but it doesn't mean I can't come here to think." She said. “A lot of things have happened the past few days and even weeks, I just want things to go back to how they used to be." I nodded, understanding what she was talking about. Her mom was currently sitting in the dungeon and she didn't want to hear anything about her. “I thought things were going well with

Chapter 145 Kieran's POV I turned back to Gerald, now, even more determined as I couldn't wait to find out what Kaia wanted to tell me. “I'm listening." I said, referring to the question I asked him. “All I know is that the Alpha of their Pack knew something he shouldn't and in order to silence him, rogues were sent to their Pack, catching them unaware." He said, “but I had nothing to do with it." He insisted. “By their Alpha, you mean Alpha Marcus?" Caleb asked. My brows furrowed, everyone knew he was the Alpha and there was no need dwelling on that. But Gerald shook his head, “Alpha Marcus is the twin brother of the real Alpha." He said, “Alpha Matthew is the elder twin which makes him the rightful heir to the throne." I messaged my temple gently, if this was true, we were years away from finding Kaia's biological parents. I wanted to ask how he knew all of this, something even my Dad as an Alpha didn't know…or probably because I didn't ask. Caleb had suddenly go

Chapter 144 Kieran's POV Apart from the things we found after rummaging through the house we found out belonged to Gerald and his mate after they were banished from the Pack, we haven't found anything new. And the location of Gerald's mate and the son, whose name was Felix was yet to be determined, but we now have names we were working on, instead of just wild guesses. It was confirmed that this Felix guy was born earlier than I was, which would suggest that the reason he was dead set on attacking the Pack was because he thinks that for whatever reason, he was supposed to be the Alpha of the Pack. “I mean, out of all the things I knew was wrong with your mom, cheating on your dad is next level.” King said. "You do know they're your parents too, right?” "Nah, I'll pass. But I'm glad he did the right thing.” My Dad’s rejection came as a surprise to me, it was the last thing I expected him to do. And no doubt, the rejection was weighing on both of them, but my

Lylah asked me, and my eyes widened. “Fuck!" I cursed, “What if that's the reason she's been staying away because she's planning this?" I replied, asking a question of my own. I stood up, with a sense of urgency, causing Katherine to look up at me. “What's wrong? Is everything okay with Dylan?" She asked. The worry in her voice made me forget for a brief moment why I stood up. Of course she was worried about her son. She knew that no matter what she said, Dylan still would've offered to be the bait. “He's fine." I told her. It hasn't been long s

There was no way that could've happened without my knowledge considering we found each other really early but the resemblance between the boy and Kieran was uncanny. Even after the evidence, I managed to convince myself that something else was at play but the past few weeks, her sudden disappearance left me questioning if I was protecting myself and pretending not to see what was happening. But spells? She has gone too far this time. Even a blind person could see how much both Kieran and Kaia cared for each other. Her position was never a problem…neither was it for me, as long as she made Kieran happy, I was fine. If Clarissa had been an ordinary wolf, I still would've taken her as my Luna without a second thought. But for some reason, it didn't sit well with Clarissa and she was my
