LOGINThe ceremony hasn’t even started Yet, something had caught his wolf’s attention. He slowly scanned the crowd again. His eyes moved from one person to another still nothing.
Kael clenched his gloved hand. For twenty-five years, his wolf had never reacted like this. So why now? He didn’t know the answer but deep inside, something told him that whatever had awakened his wolf was somewhere inside this room.
Kael sat on his throne as the ceremony began, his eyes moving around the hall. There was different kingdoms gathered in the room, nobles, guards and servants all trying to look calm infront of him.
Lucian stood beside him quietly pointing at some of the important delegates.
“The Silver Kingdom is there” he whispered.
Kael only nodded.
“The Red Moon Kingdom came with their council and the Ivory Kingdom delegation is also here.”
Kael’s eyes moved towards the Ivory Kingdom. He noticed Adrian first, standing confidently beside his family. The young man looked comfortable, like he wasn’t even bothered by the presence of the king and higher nobles.
Kael’s eyes moved away from him and then stopped on the woman standing beside them. She was dressed in an ivory gown. Kael didn’t know why he noticed her. There was nothing special about what she was doing. She wasn’t trying to get attention or looking around like the other nobles. Instead she looked annoyed, like something was bothering her. What caught his attention most was that she wasn’t afraid nor was She trying to avoid looking at him.
Seraphina wasn’t moving away from him either, this made Kael frown slightly. Why wasn’t she afraid? Almost everyone in the room knew who he was and what his touch could do, Yet she stood there like he was just another person. Kael found himself looking at her longer than he should and Lucian noticed it.
“You seem to be interested in someone” he said quietly.
Kael turned his eyes towards him. “I’m not.”
“I didn’t say who.” Lucian smirked.
Kael ignored him, then returned His eyes to the woman again. As if she could feel his heavy gaze, she suddenly raised her head. As their eyes met, Kael became still. She didn’t look away immediately. For a few seconds they just looked at each other. He saw no fear in her eyes only curiosity. Kael didn’t understand why that bothered him. He finally looked away asking himself.
Why was he even paying attention to her? He didn’t know her. Before he could think about it more, a loud crash came from somewhere behind the gathering. Everyone turned at once. The guards moved quickly towards the sound, People began whispering and moving around. Kael stood from his throne.
“What happened?”
One of the guards hurried towards the disturbance. Kael’s eyes moved around the hall again.
The ceremony had suddenly become chaotic, when he looked back towards the place where the woman had been standing. She was gone.
DON’T TOUCH THE KING.Seraphina tried to stop herself from falling but her foot slipped again.“Ah!”Her body moved backwards and she quickly reached for the first thing her hand could find. A hand. A strong hand caught hers before she could hit the floor. For a second Seraphina felt relieved, Then she noticed the silence. Everything had suddenly become quiet, too quiet. She slowly looked down. Her eyes widened. As she saw that her hand was holding Kael’s hand but not his gloved hand. His bare hand.Seraphina froze, She didn’t understand why everyone around them had suddenly stopped moving. Kael was staring down at their joined hands. His expression had completely changed. He looked shocked, No, not just shocked. He looked like he had seen something that shouldn’t be possible. Someone gasped loudly from behind them.“Let go of the King!”Seraphina looked around in confusion. Why were they shouting? She quickly tried to pull her hand away but Kael released her first. She stumbled back
THE SECRET (Seraphina Pov)Seraphina still didn’t understand why the entire room had suddenly become restless with people moving around, nobles whispering among themselves while the guards hurried towards the other side of the hall. She looked towards her father, but he wasn’t where he has been sitting before.“Father?” She couldn’t see him.Seraphina moved a little closer to where her family had been sitting, looking around the crowd. She saw some familiar faces but not her father. Then she noticed Adrian, He was standing a few feet away, speaking with one of the nobles as if nothing had happened. Seraphina frowned, of course adrian was always calm when something wasn’t directly affecting him.She then walked towards him.“Adrian.”He turned when he heard her voice.“Where have you been?”Seraphina stared at him with anger. “I was looking for my father.”“He is with the others.”“Where?”Adrian looked towards the crowd. “I don’t know.”Seraphina sighed. “You don’t know?”“Seraphina,

CHAPTER 3THE CROWN’S BURDEN (Kael Pov)Kael stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the black coat around his body. The Grand Peace Ceremony was starting soon and the palace was already filled with people from different kingdoms. He didn't like ceremonies. There was always too many people around him, too many eyes watching his every movement and too many people trying not to get too close. His eyes moved down to his hands. The black leather gloves covered his hands completely as He pulled one of them slightly, making sure it was properly worn.He didn’t know why he always checked them or Maybe because he knew what could happen if they ever came off.A knock came from the door.“Come in”Lucian his Beta, walked inside, holding a scroll in his hands.“The guests have arrived” he said.Kael turned away from the mirror. “Everything ready?”“Yes, the guards are already in their positions. Prologue Everyone in the Lycan kingdom knew one great rule, never touch the king.Kael Draven stepped out of his chambers, walking majestically towards the throne room. His movement was calm, measured and worthy of a king. As he turned into the grand hallway the maids scattered around the corners, the guards separated forming a large space for him to pass. The palace servants lowered their heads, no one daring to look up at the king.No one wanted to risk getting touched by him, even if it was a little brush. King Kael walked through the door which was opened widely for him then sat on his throne. His comrade came before him with a scroll, bowed before he began reading the content to him.A servant hurriedly walked across the throne room carrying a sliver tray. He noticed her because he had to, keeping distance between people was the only way he could protect them.“Careful” one of the guards warned
