KING DAWN’S POV
Luna obviously ran away from both me and Shin; I haven’t seen her since I saw the both of them getting out of the basement, where Shin was keeping his women hidden in his cells. I’ve known the three of them for years, and Shin was the least dangerous one, while his brother, Nero, was the only one frightening.I have no idea since when the tables have been turned. Shin seemed like he no longer cared whether someone got hurt; he’d even be the one to torture his own pack members, even if they were women. And judging by the rumors I’ve heard, he couldn’t care less if those women died since he was cursed to have no mate to begin with."With the way that you’re treating Luna, you’re just going to scare the hell out of her. She would never welcome you in that state," I seriously said to Shin, as if my words would even get to his brain. For all I know, he’d rather pretend not to listen to me since he’s that thick-heLUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV The wolf that was supposed to be the dominant one ended up dead in my hands. Right after firing my gun, which he believed I wouldn’t do, all of his blood that came out of his head splashed through my entire face. A sticky sensation of fluid continuously dripped from the temple of my head down to my chin. My hands literally shook, not due to fear but because of the overflowing excitement that I received from successfully taking the life of that wolf. I didn’t expect that I’d actually be able to shoot; I thought I was only bluffing. I had that much self-doubt, and yet I did it. The rest of the wolves inside the basement growled when they saw their leader’s body quickly falling to the ground with both of his hands still raised in the same position. They ganged up on me one at a time, so it wasn’t that difficult for me to keep on shooting them until almost half of them were piled up on
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV A sticky hand held one of my legs as I was about to go out of the basement. In an attempt to kick it away, I caught a glimpse of a woman’s hair. "Lizzy?" I uttered her name before I bent down to grab both of her arms for me to carry. "Lend me your assistance out here for a while, Dawn." I ordered him at the same time that I lent him Lizzy’s right arm, which he carefully wrapped around his shoulders. "Is she a friend of yours?" Dawn asked along the way out, and I simply shook my head as a response, which made him curious. "If she isn’t, then why are we helping her?" I breathed in heavily. "Lizzy is just someone I recently knew from the dormitory. She might be friends with Yuki, so my conscience wouldn’t allow me to just leave her behind there. There’s no guarantee that the wolves are totally lifeless now; they might have been pretending to be dead," I answered him. "You’re hiding som
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV Pitch black. All of what surrounded me was replaced with a dark hue. I could no longer see any other color after what occurred to Lizzy. I thought that Alpha Shin would stop there, but he didn’t. My mind has been going berserk. I could imagine the entire scenery of Alpha Shin suffering from my own hands. But someone was telling me—stopping me from doing anything that I might regret in the end. “When would you stop killing, Shin? I’m pretty sure that all those other Shamans helplessly died because of you as well. Is that how much you refuse to let the virus be cured in your pack?” I asked the Alpha. “I’m not as cruel as you think, Luna.” Shin let go of Lizzy, which urged me to quickly catch her before she fell to the ground. My hands, which touched her nape and forearms, sensed the amount of overflowing heat circulating in her veins. I glanced at Lizzy’s face, trying to find any sign
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV Out of all the people that gathered here, Dawn was the only one I could think of, even though Shin was in the midst of transferring Lizzy's blood to me. My entire world spun when he finally lost his composure—Dawn aggressively pulled Shin away by his collar, then kicked his knees with his brute force. I couldn't stand straight; it was like my vision was impaired. I tried to hold onto something, but my hands only managed to catch the air. Everything turned red at the same time that I sensed my nails and teeth getting sharp. "N-no…" I whispered to myself, afraid of what I might cause if I'm unable to control myself and lose consciousness while I'm in here. I immediately turned the other way, which Nero blocked. "You're craving for blood, right?" he asked. My eyes failed me. I seriously thought that it was the beta who was in front of me who questioned me, but realizations quickly hit
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV Alpha Shin came to visit me the other day, and to our surprise, he apologized. It must've bothered him that much for him to lower his pride. If a simple apology had turned back time, then I would've forgiven him that easily. But I didn't allow him to take me for granted for the second time. I can't be tricked by his fruitful words anymore, especially now that I have finally awakened my wolf. My wolf, who yearned for my mate, Jerome, whom I haven't seen for so long. "Are you sure you're going back there?" Dawn questioned me with such concern in his eyes. I gently wiped my face with a clean cloth in front of the mirror before I brushed my hair, completely ignoring the king's question, knowing that he would try everything he could to stop me from going. The beige dress I wore reached just below my knee; it was directly given to me by Butler Zen this morning. King Da
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV Eman has been trying to say the same thing over and over again: that I should leave King Dawn's side and never obey any of his words. I couldn't comprehend what's been driving him to say those things to me, but I'm sure that he must have his own reasons. He kept on repeating his statements that all led to one thing—betrayal. "Did you have a misunderstanding with King Dawn before?" I questioned him before he could've said anything else. He placed his hands in his pocket, casually walking out of the abandoned building, which I followed. Since there wasn't much light around this area, I could barely see where we were. I depended on my ears to determine where Eman went. "The truth would soon unveil, Luna. Just don't forget that I warned you today. If you can't avoid him a hundred percent, then just be cautious of whatever the King would plan out for the upcoming war,
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV My hands trembled when I thought of Dawn, Shin, and Nero, completely dominating the Blood Moon Pack where my adoptive parents live. I shouldn't be worrying about them now that I've cut ties with Mr. Asterbelle, but I still have a faint sense of affection for them for raising me after they claimed me from the orphanage. Since if it weren't for them, I would've still been eating the flesh of my friends. I couldn't think straight; my mind was stuck in a haze. "Dawn has yet to reveal his real identity, Luna. As a token of apology, at least let me tell you this: you shouldn't trust him for the sake of your mentality. But if you're prepared to experience betrayal by those you had faith in, then do as you please." Althea walked to stand in front of me, which made each and every breath that I took feel massive. Her red eyes looked down upon me with such ferocity, the same ones that I've see
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV I struggled to stand back up when my back smacked to the ground full of flesh as soon as my wings got burned by Althea's flames. My muscles didn't stop having cramps while the rest of my body was aching. I could feel that I was on the verge of death, and yet, it seemed that the moon goddess wouldn't allow me to just die at this point. "W-why won't you kill me now that I'm vulnerable?" I asked her, my voice stuttering. Althea bent one of her knees, and then she placed the glowing stone above my forehead. "I was just testing you, Luna. I never planned to kill you. How can I take the life of my son's mate?" she responded as she assisted me in rising on my own two feet. I made sure that the stone wouldn't fall from my forehead, so I picked it up and gripped it tightly. "Can I ask you one thing about Jerome?" I seriously uttered, and she nodded to let me continue what I wanted to say. "I
