Valen

The night was quiet when my men came into the tent. Their faces looked serious, and I knew they had news.

“Alpha,” one of them said, bowing his head, “we found her.”

I leaned back in my chair. “Flora?”

“Yes,” he nodded quickly. “She often walks alone near the river behind Leo’s camp. The guards there are few. It’s the perfect place. If you give the order, we can take her easily.”

My heart beat faster. Finally. After all this time, a chance. We had to make sure to utilise it properly

I rubbed my chin. If I bring Flora back, I can use her to settle the chaos in my pack. The elders will respect her, the wolves will calm down. It could save everything I have been working for.

But before I could answer, a sharp voice came from the corner.

“What did you just say?”

It was Bailey. She had come in without me noticing. Her eyes were wide, her lips pressed tight.

“Nothing for you to worry about,” I said, waving a hand.

Her steps were quick as she came closer. “Don’t lie to me, Valen. Did

sleep that night. My thoughts kept circling around Flora. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her face when she rejected me earlier. The way her eyes had turned cold, the way her voice sounded firm. “She doesn’t trust me anymore,” I whispered to myself as I lay in bed. “But I need her. Not just for myself… but for the pack too.” The pack was broken in many ways. People doubted me. Some of the elders questioned my choices. And the rogues… they were still a problem. Flora was strong, and the people respected her even if she didn’t see it. If she stood beside me again, things could change. But how could I make her believe me? How could I make her see that I was serious this time? I sat up, running a hand through my hair. “I will not give up,” I said to myself. “I let her go once, but not again. I will win her back. I must.” The next morning, I walked through the pack grounds, pretending to greet people, but my mind was still on her. Every corner I turned, I expected to see her. Every

Third Person’s PerspectiveValen stood outside Flora’s door for a long time. His hand was raised as if he wanted to knock, but he kept pulling it back. He looked tense, like someone fighting with himself. Finally, he took a deep breath and knocked twice.Inside, Flora was sitting by the small table, she had expected to be kept in some dungeon, but she recognised this place all too well, and surprisingly she wasn’t even scared. She had been sewing a torn sleeve, one that was lying by a corner and she picked it up to keep herself busy, but her mind was still on the strange fear she had felt in the slave quarters hours before. She looked up at the sound of the knock. Her hands stilled. That knock… I know it. Why is he here? Stupid question, he kidnapped her… what did she expect She stood slowly and opened the door.“Valen,” she said flatly. He gave a small, awkward smile. “Flora. Can I come in?” Why was he acting like a ‘good person’“I would hand it to you Valen, you kidnap someone and

FloraThree weeks later I carried the small basket of bread in my hands as I walked into the part of the pack that people hardly ever visited. The handle of the basket cut a little into my fingers, but I did not mind. I had chosen to come here myself, even though most people warned me not to waste time in this place. This part of the pack was different from the rest. Very different. The houses here were not really houses. They were broken sheds, with holes in the roofs and walls. Some walls were so weak that one push could make them fall. The ground was muddy, uneven, and smelled damp, as if it had not been dry in years. The air was heavy, filled with the odor of sickness, sweat, and sadness.People here were thin. Too thin. Their faces were hollow, their ribs could be seen under their skin. Their clothes were torn, dirty, and sometimes barely covered them. They were the slaves of the pack, the forgotten ones. Most pack members ignored them. Some even pretended they did not exist. To
