This is getting crazy

Chapter four 

Zaria’s POV

“Zaria” I heard someone called I turned back and saw Jean she walked down to me, "Am sorry." she said quickly. “I should have stood with you in class yesterday.”

I glanced at her.

Her voice was soft, and I could see she meant it. With what have know she's was not the type to fight. She avoided trouble. 

So I didn’t blame her. “It’s fine,” I said calmly.

She still looked guilty. “Selena and her girls… they are dangerous, I need you to stay away from them.”

I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and started walking slowly.

“I don’t care,” I said.

Jean stopped walking immediately, she turned to look at me like I had said something crazy.

“What do you mean you don’t care?” she asked. “Zaria, do you know what they can do? Especially Selena? 

I stopped walking, for a moment, I just looked at her then I smiled slowly. I opened my bag and pulled something, pepper spray 

I held it up like it was nothing important.

“Look at this,” I said calmly. “If anyone tries me today, I will deal with them.”

Jean’s eyes widened, she quickly rushed closer and grabbed my arm.

“Zaria, no!” she said in panic. “You need to be careful, Selena might make her father withdraw your admission from this college!”

I gently removed her hand from my arm. “And do I look like I care?” I asked.

Jean froze.

I continued walking, she followed me quickly.

“Please, I’m begging you,” she said again. “Just avoid them. Just stay away from trouble.”

I didn’t answer her, because I already made up my mind, I was not going to run from anyone.

As we walked deeper into the campus, students started arriving in groups. The college was already alive with noise.

Then suddenly, the sound of a car engine filled the air.

Everyone paused. Even Jean stopped walking.

A black luxury car drove slowly into the compound, It was shiny, expensive, and loud in a silent way, students immediately stepped aside.

Whispers started everywhere. “Is that Alpha Kai?” I heard one said 

“Oh my Gosh…” another girl added 

Girls began to gather near the pathway like they had been waiting for him.

The car stopped. A driver quickly stepped out and opened the door.

The moment the door opened, the atmosphere changed.

A tall guy stepped out. He wore a simple dark outfit, but the way he carried himself made everything around him feel smaller.

He didn’t even look around, he just walked forward like everyone already belonged beneath him.

And the girls? They reacted immediately. “he’s so handsome,” one girl said excitedly.

“I wish I was his chosen mate,” another one added quickly.

“I would die just for him to look at me,” someone else whispered.

I frowned slightly. “What is wrong with these people?” I muttered.

Jean leaned closer to me, her voice shaking a little.

“That’s him,” she said.

I turned to her. “Who?”

“That’s Alpha Kai.” she replied 

For a second, I didn’t react, then I looked again.

Alpha Kai. So that was him, the same guy I bumped into yesterday no I mean the one who bumped into me, I thought in my head. 

"That's the same arrogant, cold guy who looked at me like I was supposed to bow huh." I said 

Jean grabbed my hand lightly.

“Zaria…” she said slowly. “You made a mistake yesterday. You fought two royals. Maybe… maybe we should just go and apologize.”

I turned sharply to look at her.

“What?” I asked.

She nodded quickly. “Yes. It’s better we beg him before things get worse.”

I stared at her for a moment.Then I pulled my hand away. “I will never do that,” I said firmly.

Jean looked shocked.

I continued, my voice stronger now.

“He was the one who bumped into me first. I didn’t start anything.”

Jean sighed deeply.

“But Zaria—”

“I don’t care who he is,” I cut in. “Alpha or not. Royal or not. I will not bow to someone just because of a title.”

Jean looked like she wanted to cry, but I didn’t care.

Because deep down, I meant every word.

“And also, what is he doing in college when his mate has stopped giving birth?” I said.

Jean blinked at me like she didn’t understand what I was saying. 

“I heard that he came back to college because of something important.” she replied quickly.

“Whatever." I said and I rolled my eyes and kept walking.

After the lecture ended, it was already break time. Jean whispered into my ear, “Zaria, let’s leave the class now.”

I didn’t answer her. I knew it was because of Selena and her girls. “I won’t go anywhere,” I said.

She gently dragged me, and I had no choice but to follow her.

We walked to the cafeteria for break time. The place looks like no life live in there, It only only two students in.

"Let go out we come back later." Jean said to me like a whisper and dragged me gently. 

But I never listened I removed my hand gently, she has no choice than to follow me. 

But as soon as I stepped in—

“Ouch!” I bumped into someone, my shoulder hit hard, and I stumbled slightly.

“Not again,” I whispered under my breath.

The tray in the person’s hand shook, and food spilled onto the floor.

My eyes widened immediately, I looked up slowly and my heart paused. It was him again Alpha Kai.

He stood still, looking down at the food that had fallen from his hand. His expression changed slowly, becoming darker.

My stomach dropped. “Am sorry,” I said quickly.

Before he could say anything, I turned and ran out of the hall.

I didn’t wait, I didn’t look back, for the very first time in my life I got scared. 

Behind me, I heard Jean’s voice.

“Please, she is sorry! She didn’t mean for that to happen!” she called out, trying to explain.

But I didn’t stop. I kept running until I got outside the building.

The air felt cooler there. Quieter. But my heart was not calm.

I stopped near a wall and placed my hand on my chest, breathing heavily.

“What is wrong with me?” I asked myself. I noticed my wolf got weak again and it happened the first time I bumped into him 

I closed my eyes for a moment . “I need to stay far away from him,,” I said to no one in particular.
