LUIS's POV

As soon as we got away from Enzo’s clan grounds, Claire, who supported me, walked a few miles before finding a spot to place me down. She propped me down by a large tree trunk and I grunted from the pain that coursed through my body.

Without saying a word, she cast a healing spell all over me. Green light flickered and settled all around me. The relief I had felt earlier was back again, and this time, it felt more soothing. I exhaled and let the myself relax as the healing took place.

Claire got up from the floor, straightened her gown and began to walk away from me.

“Where are you going?” I grunted as I shifted forward.

Claire turned back and her eyes were still as cold as ever.

“I am going to scout the area, just in case they followed us here,” she said plainly, not a single emotion in her voice.
