Eli’s POV
I had no damn journalist, and the elder council was crawling up my ass insisting I fix up the omega houses! I wanted to know who called them, but while they were hanging around my damn house, I couldn’t actually grab omegas one by one to find out anything! Besides all that, I was still healing after my fight with Leah. A fight that made me look bad in front of my damn warriors. Since she rejected me, I no longer felt the need to be near her, but I still had the problem of an heir to deal with and, since my mate clearly wasn’t producing one, there was only one option.
Leah was going to carry my child whether she wanted to or not! I will find a way.
Sebastian’s POV
Emily didn’t even have to say it! My senses were tingling as we walked into the house.
“Nathaniel!” I growled, protectively stepping in front of Leah. Th
Leah’s POV My breath caught in the back of my throat as my hand felt his muscles tightening underneath my touch. It felt as if my entire body had been electrified. Every nerve ending took in as much information as it could. I had never felt this pull toward anybody. Not even Sebastian the first time we were here. Our lips touched and I could have sworn I heard the angels sing “HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!” Right there at that very perfect moment, I knew I had made the right decision. I knew that Sebastian was the mate I was always meant to be with. My body was tingling all over and we were still in our clothes, which made me wonder how intense it would get once we were completely naked. Sebastian started to leave burning hot kisses down the side of my jaw and although my human mind was screaming for me to stop him, I couldn’t. I knew where he was aiming for and I wanted him. I wanted him to mark me. I wanted the world to know that I was his and he was mine. His fingers fumbled slightly wi
Leah’s POVEverything between us was absolutely perfect … Until we sat down to have breakfast. It was as if some switch flipped in Sebastian and he looked a little uncomfortable. He didn’t just look it! I could feel it through our bond. He would look at me for less than a split second and then look at his food. As if he wanted to say something but couldn’t bring himself to do it. What the hell happened between saying good morning and sitting down for breakfast that he would be acting this damn strange?“Is everything okay?” I decided to just ask since assumption always seemed to be the mother of all fuckups! He glanced at me again and then sighed, putting down his fork and leaning back into the chair.“Are you …” He hesitated. “I mean, last night happened really fast. Are you happy?” He blushed bright red and I burst out laughing, which m
Eli’s POV We walked into the nightclub in the city and I could smell all the different scents from all the different creatures. It was so strange to see them all mingling and having fun as if they were from the same damn species! It was disgusting! “I’m here to see Nathaniel,” I told the huge bulky guard keeping watch over the VIP entrance. I was sure he was just there because he was all brawn and no damn brain. When he finished paging through his little list of people, he frowned at me. “And you are?” He sighed as if I was wasting his time! “Eli.” I frowned. “Eli Blackwood. I have an appointment and you are going to make me late!” I was getting impatient. I didn’t want to be here of all places, but if I was going to get to my goal, I needed to do that. “Ah, there you are. Nathaniel will be right with you.” He unclipped the red rope and showed me to a table. “Stay here. Don’t wander off!” He growled softly and walked away. What the fuck was up with that guy? As if I would wander a
Sebastian’s POV Feeling the vampire venom running through my veins, it felt as if my body was being torn apart cell by cell. Vampire venom fighting werewolf venom as the DNA clashed and I howled out in pain fighting against the restraints that were holding me down. I agreed to this, but I didn’t realize it would hurt this much! I woke up breathing fast and my heart was pounding as I sat up in bed. Sweat was running down the side of my face while I tried to calm my breathing. “Sebastian?” Leah’s concerned voice calmed me instantly as I pulled her into my arms. “It was just a nightmare. I’m sorry to wake you.” I forced my breathing to calm down and lay back with Leah in my arms, but I couldn’t fall asleep after the memory of what happened to me rushed so rudely into my dreams. That memory can only mean one thing. The vampires were moving. The question was what the hell were they up to? My mind drifted to Leah in my arms for the hundredth time during this incredibly boring alliance me
Leah’s POV I just had to be careful about which projects to pick. I didn’t want Sebastian to think that I was trying too hard. I needed to find the projects that she started, but also ones that weren’t that sentimental and like her babies or something. I didn’t want anyone to feel offended and wondered if I should even try that. I hadn’t been here long enough in both lifetimes to really know what would make a difference in this pack’s lives. “Hey, what are you up to?” Emily appeared, leaning against my doorframe, and gave me such a fright that I jumped, slamming the book shut in the process. Carl seemed impressed, but he made sure I wouldn’t show the book to anybody else. Not even Sebastian. It really was Luna’s secret diary. “Oh, uhm …” I jumped out of my chair and walked over to her so she wouldn’t pay too much attention to the book. “I’ve just been looking for some books on the pack's history of mating ceremonies.” My cheeks turned bright red. I knew the subject would definitely
Leah’s POV It really was going to be the event of the social season! I laughed as I went through some of the arrangements with Emily, but we all deserved a little happiness and this mating ceremony was going to be the thing to do. I could look at those projects a little later since this seemed to be at the top of the priority list. Emily had so many ideas that I almost wondered if she didn’t wish it was her wedding day we were planning or something. I mean, which girl wouldn’t love to have the perfect fairy tale mating ceremony big enough to look like a human wedding?! We spent all day, every day making plans for the next week and poor Sebastian looked so bored sitting through food tastings and flower presentations that I finally gave him a day off when we went tablecloth shopping. Yeah, it really was a lot, but at the end of the day, it was all going to be worth it. In the evenings, I made sure to thank Sebastian properly for his bank card and his patience throughout this entire th
Eli’s POV I had no other choice but to call my mate to come and pick me up. I had no idea where the hell I was. I was feeling seriously weird, and all I could think about was getting back home. I needed a shower and a clean change of clothes and I needed to figure out what the hell happened to me. The last thing I remembered was that bastard telling me he wanted to show me something, a stinging sensation in my neck and then I blacked out. I remember him telling me I’m a hybrid. I still couldn’t believe what he told me. Flashes of incredible pain shot through my body while I waited. I considered going inside to have a drink while I waited, but I could just imagine her face if she found me inside the club. Knowing my mate, she would immediately think I was here for the wrong reasons. Choosing a mate had its disadvantages. That bastard’s men thought it was funny to drop me off right here. In front of a strip club, in the middle of the city where I couldn’t figure out one single damn scen
Leah’s POV “There is no use in blaming yourself.” Sebastian’s voice drifted through the mind link. “If you ran, Eli would have kept coming after you.” He was right … That made me wonder how often he heard my thoughts. “Often enough,” He smiled at me as he walked through the front door. “We need to talk about you and your previous life.” He mind linked me and I looked around wondering who else heard it! “Just me.” His arm slipped around my waist and he pulled me closer, breathing in my scent as he nuzzled his nose into my neck. “Thank the goddess.” I sighed, feeling myself calm down. I closed my eyes and just stayed in the moment for a second. “Why didn’t you tell me you heard my thoughts?” I asked him through the mind link and our eyes made contact. “I didn’t want you to think I was invading your privacy. At first, I thought I was imagining what I heard, but you think about your past life a lot, and then I heard you thinking about two lifetimes with all of us in it. What happened?”
