IRA'S POV
I barely slept through the night.
I spent most of the time wondering if I should take the wolfsbane. During my time as a slave, I used to find them in the woods, where I'd grind them to powder and infuse it in my food.
Or I'd get them from the slave market, paying my way through, getting little quantities to keep up my ruse. However, this time, I was sceptical about taking it.
Partially because there was no way I could dilute them in my food with Dexter and his servants around. Neither could I chomp it down in its raw state.
Not to mention, I had training with Dexter, which meant I needed all the strength I could muster and didn't need anything making me weaker than I already was.
When Dexter knocked on my door, I was wide awake with a myriad of thoughts. I got up the bed and walked to the door with conflicting emotions.
I pulled the door open, and my eyes widened at the sight before me.
"Mia?" My tone communicated my
IRAI walked down the road with my head buried in my class plan.My legs felt sore from running, and I had over an hour before the next class. I looked through the school map in the schedule plan, looking for somewhere I could spend my time without distraction.I soon decided on the library and found my way into the large structure in the middle of the academy. I walked inside with my head bowed and my legs on the verge of giving out.Maybe I should have accepted the drugs from before, I thought, deciding against it. That ship had sailed."ID?" A voice snapped at me in front of the library, stopping me from getting through the wooden barrier.I stopped in my steps, realizing I didn't have an ID with me."Billie Cornrow," a voice suddenly said behind me, slapping an ID on the front desk. "She's with me."The man looked between us, as though deciding what to do. "Fine," he muttered, raising the platform and handing us tags.
IRA'S POV"I'm sorry," I immediately apologized. "I got lost."I met the harsh gaze of a man who wore a black, flowing gown, with his hair packed in a bun and a grotesque expression on his face as he looked over me.Whoever this man was, he didn't look pleased by my apology. He turned to the others with a commanding aura around him."Can someone tell us the only rule I have for this class?""No lateness," the others chorused without missing a beat. The man turned to me with an even angrier look, sizing me up with his eyes. "I will excuse you because this is your first time in my class."But I will not condone such acts in the future," he warned, letting his words hang in the air for a second before finally speaking. "Go ahead and introduce yourself."I swallowed, stepping forward as I faced the others who stood in the large, sparse land. It didn't take long before I sighted Billie, who stood at the far end of the corner, aliena
EROSMy wolf raged within me as I waited for her.Our mate. It's been three days. Three days since I saw her making out with Dexter. Three days of constant torture from my wolf.He wanted to see her. He wanted to mate with her. He wanted to have her with him at all times. It was insane just how obsessed and hard to control my wolf was becoming since Ira's disappearance. As though it wasn't already difficult controlling my hybrid wolf.I stood at the curtains of the Alpha's house built in the Academy, looking through the window for signs of their coming.I discharged Elias for the day and finished my business with Elder Nightingale, who somehow failed to acquire fresh DNA from Ira as we earlier discussed.I hoped we could catch a glimpse of just what it was about her that made me feel off, but there was no such thing. Somehow, Ira managed to escape the clinic, evading the process.A part of me wondered if it was all a coi
IRABillie and I went our separate ways after our conversation in the bathroom.I walked down the hallway with Billie's words pounding in my heart."I didn't see or hear from her again."Her words recycled in my mind as I headed towards my room. Her wolf took the brunt of it. My legs shook as more thoughts flooded my mind. She wasn't born without a wolf. She was perfectly in sync with her wolf - until she tried to kill herself and her wolf took the fall.Cold shivers went down my spine and Khanos' warnings returned to me.Your body can't handle it...Don't take it...Don't do it...I didn't listen. My heart thrummed in my chest as her warnings grew louder with every step.I felt the hollowness within me expand with every second.Did I cause this?I thought, hands trembling.Did I somehow manage to...I couldn't handle the thought of it. I couldn't handle the thought of...My stomach tightened with unease as I reached out to Khanos for the nth time. And got nothing. Not a word. Not a p
IRA"Not really," I said to the young girl who immediately took a seat beside me.I didn't speak a word to her, and instead focused on my meal, desperate to get out of the hall and find Mia before it got too dark."My name is Billie," the young girl said to me with her head buried in her food.I skipped a beat to swallow my food before finally speaking. "I am Ira," I responded, not really in the mood for chitchat."I saw you earlier today," she said, grabbing my attention. "At the gate," she clarified, and my mouth formed an oh shape."Welcome to the werewolf academy," Billie said with a small smile. "It's my third year here."I didn't know what to say, so I listened to her. "I don't think you'd sit at this table if you knew the history behind it.""What?""It's the losers' table," she said in a small voice, almost a whisper. "I've been sitting at this table for the last three years alone."I blinked in confusion at her words. "What is that?""What?""Losers' table," I gritted. "What
IRAMrs. Rowlings took me around the Golden House dormitory, showing me the bathroom, laundry unit, as well as the kitchen.Apparently, they lived in a pretty communal way, which was made to facilitate unity among the people. Mrs. Rowlings listed a lot more rules as she gave me a tour around the facility."Your supplies will be sent to your room," Mrs. Rowlings said in parting. "Dinner is at seven and classes begin tomorrow. No excuses."Mrs. Rowlings left before I could point out the fact I had nothing. I guess she'll find out soon enough. I walked into the dormitory, my stomach growling in hunger.Dinner was a good hour away and my body was in need of dire rest. I walked down the hallway, which was a bit dark. It seemed like the lights had gone out on my side of the hallway.I needed to get that fixed as soon as I found out how I was to survive here. I took a step further, and that was when I heard noises. My heart skipped a beat, and I warily approached what was supposed to be my r
