Thane's POV
It had been a day since we chased Seth to a journey of no return. Lincoln was really happy about it. He was literally always beaming with joy just from the talk of it. I've had no sleep since it happened. I heard an unusual growl that just assured me that nothing could be right about that forest. His short scream worsened it for me. “Fuck, what have I done?” I muttered to myself. “When did you start speaking to yourself?” Lincoln scoffed, tapping me. I shook my head, remembering that I was in the lunchroom, not my room. “Look man, whatever is eating you up, you should talk about it.” Lincoln hissed. “Don't go looking like you're half scared of the world.” “We were right about what we did, right?” I asked, feeling my chest tighten. “Thane, it was just some easy operation, don't stress over it.” Lincoln hissed. “For all we know, the bastard could be having all the fun in the woods.” “He called me his mate, and I think that's a valid reason.” I divulged, trying to justify my actions. “Shit man! You should have said something.” Lincoln hissed. “I should have killed that bastard myself.” I silently fiddled with my food while he spoke. “Look man, you made the wise call.” Lincoln assured me. “He'd have probably raped you in the ass or something.” “Now, eat your food and don't have me thinking that you're in love with the guy we just sent to his death.” Lincoln chuckled, playfully hitting my shoulder. “Whatever man.” I chuckled, forcing myself to lighten up. A day passed, and Seth still hadn't come back. I wasn't expecting him to just show up, but I wanted any sort of news about him. The guilt of what could have happened to him gave me no breathing space. The morning came real quick, and I spent some time talking to Rose, convincing her to come over again, despite the chaos happening in Lunaris academy. There was a gentle knock on my door, and from the scent, I could tell that it was the registrar. I looked around, and set the things that had to be set before hurriedly opening the door. “Good day sir?” I greeted, and he smiled at me. “Can I come in?” He asked, and I respectfully left his path for him to walk in. I rolled my eyes as he walked behind me. It's now time for me to tell the lies I had practised so well. “I was told that Seth missed his classes yesterday?” He asked, and I shrugged. “Have you seen him around?” “Erm… he hasn't been home for two nights and a day now.” I shrugged. “And I apologize that I didn't say anything,” “It's just that I don't really mind staying all alone.” I chuckled nervously, but the registrar just nodded. “You know, I never really knew him until I saw him when he arrived.” The registrar said, like there was anything I could do about it. “His mother complains about him being a party freak, so I guess that's where he's been.” “I'll address this when he's back, but for now, please keep it a secret.” He begged, and I assured him of being able to trust me. The day was a blur. I spent most of my time with the boys, and also with Alpha Harry. I could barely focus as all my mind was on the boy I had probably killed. I could not get my head in the right space, although I went through my daily routine with ease. Perfection in the sight of a particular set of people was no longer a burden. “So, is Rose coming tonight?” Lincoln asked, sitting on my bed. “Yeah.” I chuckled, setting the room in order, since Rose was a neatness freak. “Don't make so much noise.” Lincoln scoffed. “Upside of this whole mess is that I don't have to put a sock on the door knob any longer.” I said, and Lincoln smirked. “I'm glad you're now seeing what I've always wanted you to see.” There was a knock on the door, and before I could even take a sniff, Lincoln was all over it already . “What's Mr Harry doing by your room at this time?” He asked, and I shrugged. Lincoln’s eyebrows furrowed closely, and his eyes were squinted just to prove a point. “I guess I'm about to find out.” I said. “Well, that's my cue to leave.” Lincoln added. I opened the door, and he left just as Mr Harry walked in. “Thane, sorry to disturb you.” He said with one hand in his pocket. He was holding a file, and his gaze was fixed on me . “You aren't disturbing me.” I said, closing the door behind. “Is there any problem?” “There is, but it's the kind that you'd like.” He assured me. I could already tell that it was more work from the way he was beaming about it. “What's it sir?” I asked, and he eventually stretched out his hand with the file in it. I accepted it gently, and started going through the pages while he spoke. “In there, is something I'd like you to work on.” He said. “It's a dead case, and everything you need is right there.” It was literally a case file, like he wanted me to become an investigator all of a sudden. “Find out who killed Luke, and come to me when it's done.” “Do I have a time frame?” I asked. “No, take as much time as you need.” He said, and I nodded, taking a huge gulp of water. Mr Harry left my room, but before I could close the door, another hand had already held it. “Who the fuck is that?!” I growled, yanking the door open. On the other end was someone so insignificant that I was very sure I hadn't ever seen him. “My name is Zion, and I know what you did with Seth.” He said, and my heart skipped a beat. My chest tightened, and my head ached. Fear gripped me, but I tried to keep a straight face. “What the fuck are you talking about?” I asked, trying to dismiss him. “I have a video recording of y'all threatening him, and I swear that if he's not in school by morning, the video will be out, and you evil bastards will pay for what you've done.” Zion snapped. “What video are you talking about?” I scoffed nervously. “Let me see it.” “No.” He snapped. “And if you think you can beat me into deleting it, you should know that I've also sent it to someone else that'll upload it if anything happens to me.” “What are you saying?” I chuckled nervously. “I have nothing to do with whatever madness you're talking about, and…” “You have till morning.” Zion cut me off, and walked away from me. The door closed, and the room began to run out of air. It felt like the room was closing in on me. I shook my head several times just to breathe properly, but it felt like everything was against me. I cleaned off sweat off my face several times, still thinking of what to do. Alpha's in training have been pulled out for doing less. In all these, one thing was evident. I have to find Seth, and I have to find him tonight.Scarlett's POV I hurriedly changed into fresh clothes when I got to the room. I got another of Michelle's waist trainers to hold my boobs down. There was a knock on the door, followed by Zion’s gentle voice. “Can I come in?” He asked.“Wait a minute.” I said, breathing really hard and fast. I stood in front of a mirror, and I smiled. I had transitioned back to being a boy.“Come in!” I said, and the door creaked open. Zion threw his bag on the bed, and the books fell out. “A small penis?! Seriously?!” I hissed. “Was that the best you could come up with?”“Look, I'm sorry, that was the only thing that came to mind. I swear.” He muttered, looking at me. “That's more stigma and more trolls.” I sighed.“Oh, don't worry.” He shrugged. “Most of the guys have normal sized dicks, so it shouldn't be a problem.” “If you say so then.” I shrugged. “But you called mine small!”“We're lucky that your wolf is huge, and it's not so easy to distinguish He muttered and I sighed. “Your wolf is bea
Thane's POV It all felt weird. For the first time in a very long time, I was angry at myself about how badly I treated someone, so much that it made me sad. I stared at Seth for a while before I slept off, wondering about the things he must have gone through over the two nights he had spent in what was supposedly an evil forest. What concerned me the most was how he managed to come back alive and unscathed when others never came back. By the time I woke up, he was still asleep. I had several messages from Rose. I had cancelled out of the blue last night. I sent apology messages to her. I went through my normal morning routine of going to the gym for workouts, and when I was done with that, I had my bath and began my day properly.“I checked the previous paper you turned in, and it was superb.” Mr Harry nodded with a straight face. I tried hiding the smile that lurked beneath my face, but I wasn't doing a good job. Mr Harry raised a brow and scoffed. “Thank you, sir.” I responded,
Scarlett's POV I was woken by my ringing phone. It vibrated really hard, and it almost threw me off my bed. It was Michelle on the phone. I hurriedly cleaned my eyes, and rushed into the toilet since Thane was still asleep. I closed the door in a way that I'd easily sense a move from Thane. I sat on the toilet, making sure I was postured right. Michelle called not long after again. “Hi baby.” I muttered. “Girl , don't fucking baby me!” Michelle snapped. “Where the fuck have you been for two days?! I want to drag your hair so bad!” “Relax.” I whispered, hoping I wasn't loud. “I was kidnapped!” “What?!” “And I think I have two mates now, and one is a beast.” I whispered again, making sure Thane was still asleep. “Girl, spill now!” Michelle ordered, and I told her everything that had happened.I barely left out any detail, to the point of their looks. “Damn… that's crazy.” Michelle sighed. “I thought you were having so much fun without me. I was close to telling your parents so
Scarlett’s POVZion and I ran, although we didn't hear Franklin coming for us. The howls and roars had died down by the time we got very far away from the house. I made sure to mark my path by clawing several trees around. It was pretty dark, and the moon was our only source of light. It was doing a very good job, considering that it was just a quarter moon. “What was that?” Zion asked, breathing really fast. He bent over, supporting his weight by holding his knee . “Erm… a mountain lion, I guess.” I said, also breathing hard as I marked the last tree. “That's one hell of a big mountain lion then,” Zion said, breathing slowly now, and recovering slowly, “because that sound doesn't come from anything ordinary.”“I've spent two days in this forest, and I know that there's nothing ordinary about this place.” I sighed, leaving the tree since I was done marking it. It was the only one I properly marked. I only slashed the barks of the others.“Why have you been marking the trees?” Zion
Scarlett's POV I sat on the giant bed, looking around. I wasn't crying any longer. I barely even cried for 15 minutes. The aesthetics of this room almost convinced me that the other room that was creepy wasn't a part of the house. The bed was a King's size bed. It'd comfortably take twice Franklin's size. The walls were blue with several acrylic paintings all over. However Franklin discovered this place, it has something to do with a very rich family. I could not do anything for hours until Franklin's steps were closer to my room. He knocked so gently that one would have thought he was human. By the time I rushed to open the door, he was gone, but there was a plate of chicken wings and a book. My stomach gurgled at the sight of it, and it made me realize how hungry I was the whole time. I hurriedly took the food in with the book. It was a novel about a fallen war lord trying to find love. I was kept company by the tale of the bittersweet love story between Tariq and Alicia. I s
Scarlett's POVFranklin's gaze didn't stray from mine , and neither did mine stray from his. It was like we were both searching for answers in each other's eyes. I swallowed hard, taking in the knowledge that I had two mates. One is a jerk, and one is a beast. Who could be so unlucky in the world to have such a terrible combination? I could tell that he was thinking about something, but I couldn't say what exactly he was thinking about. I coughed, and he shifted back, giving me space since it was clearly needed. It was not until then that I realized that I was barely breathing the whole time. I held my throat close and tried to calm myself down, but nothing worked. I was, in a way, stuck with him.“You can reject me.” Franklin said with a sincere and calm tone, although it still reverberated through the room and shook me. “No hard feelings.” He shrugged, raising the table he had overturned. “And what will become of me?” I asked, and he shrugged again. “Maybe I'll finally do what y
