LOGINScarlett’s POV
I woke up to being alone in the room. Honestly, I was very happy to be alone. Thane turned out to be rude, although he's insanely handsome, but he also seems troubled, so maybe there's some hope there for him. I took a walk round the room, trying to see if there was anything new from Lunaris academy. As expected, Arya had already put a search warrant for me. My pictures were all over the Internet, and everyone's definitely trying to find me like I'm some lost child, when in reality, I wanted to get away from them. I stared at my phone, hating the way it tingled as I really wanted to get to Michelle to see what's up. I had my bath, and hurriedly changed, tying my breasts down although it wasn't so difficult. I was done in the bathroom and I was on my way to comb my hair when Thane walked in. He stopped at the door, and he looked at me for quite a while. The scent he had on his body was almost making me feel weird. I have never felt this way for anyone, it's like I'm drawn to him and the wolf inside me wants to do something but is being held down. Thane walked past me to his bed. He grabbed his towel, and unbuttoned his shirt. He was sweaty, most likely from an intense workout session. “Erm… I think we got off on the wrong foot, Thane.” I managed to say, just wanting to make peace. I am a female in the world of men, this is definitely not safe for me. “I definitely do not want to cause any trouble, and I'd stay out of your way if I have to.” “Well, that's good, because…” He turned to look at me with his bare chest, and I completely lost my mind. The sight of his abs got me completely silent and thirsty. I did not hear anything else that he said, until he walked past me again. Oh My God!! I don't think I can keep this act for long, because if all the boys have sexy abs, I'd end up begging for them. I checked Seth's major, and surprisingly, we were doing the same. Coincidence has never worked so well for me until now. I pulled out the map for my classes, and I left before Thane came out. Classes were mostly boring, and thankfully, I've not had to rip apart or shift in front of anyone. I hadn't clearly considered all these things. I was trying to get lunch in the cafeteria when I bumped into a weird guy. I almost fell but he held my hand just before I could hit the ground. He was a lot shorter than I am, about 5’7, and he was wearing glasses. His black hair laid lazily around his face as he pulled me up. “You're a girl.” He whispered to me, and I coughed, unable to move again. “Huh?” I muttered, hoping that I was the one that didn't hear right, hoping that I was the one that missed what he was actually talking about. “You're a girl.” He repeated audaciously. “I'm not.” I lied, keeping a straight face although I was flustered. “You'll have to prove that to me.” He stated, very intent on proving what he had just said. I scoffed, hissing at him. “I might have just resumed, but I'll have no problem kicking your ass.” I growled. “I am not a girl!” “Prove it to me!” He yelled, drawing a little bit of attention. “By stripping naked?!” I snapped at him. “I have a much bigger cock than 95% of the guys here, just leave me alone.” I tried walking out, but he caught me by my arm and pulled me back instantly. “I'll scream for everyone to come around if you don't tell me the truth now.” He growled. He was so close to me, that I could feel his breath on my face. “Should I get you guys a room or what's going on here?” Someone asked, moving close to us. The one holding me tilted his head and raised his eyebrow as if to start a countdown. I yanked my arm free of his hold, trying to be tough. “Every…” He shouted , and I was barely able to cover his mouth before people caught on to what was happening. I pulled him outside, sprinting a little just to get away from everyone quickly. “What do you want?!” I asked, panting hard. “No one else can know this.” He looked at me without saying a word. I wondered why he enjoyed watching me panic. “Look, I don't really care why you're here or how, I just want a friend.” He said, and I was taken aback even more. “Seriously?!” I hissed, rolling my eyes, unable to deny my gender anymore. “You started all that drama just to get a friend?” “When you've been here for as long as I have, the end will always justify the means.” He shrugged, and I hissed again. “What?!” I yelled at him. “Look, I've been an orphan all my life, living with my aunt that doesn't give two fucks about me.” He said. He looked very desperate which was supposed to be a very red flag. “I've always been the odd and weird one in every gathering, and making friends have been harder than anything.” “So yeah, I'm desperate.” He muttered. I didn't speak. I just kept looking at him, unsure of what to do. I could resonate with most of what he had said. “Truce?” He shrugged, stretching out his right hand. I looked at it, considering the offer of a friendship. “Fuck it.” I muttered to myself, taking his hand. He smiled, obviously happy with himself. “Let's get some food.” He muttered, leading the way. “And I'll also show you around here.” “How did you figure that out?” I asked, breathing really hard. If I could be made on first contact with someone, what will happen when everyone starts noticing whatever he notices? “You're eyebrows. Your scent is off, but the main reason was when I hit you.” He said, looking at me. “Erm… your…” “My fucking goddamned lemons!” I said, not sure if I was excited that they weren't actually so small, or I was angry that I was made because I hit someone. “I'd have overlooked these things, anyone would, I just tend to give more attention to details, and that's all.” He said, and I nodded at him. “By the way, my name is Scarlett, but you should call me Seth.” I smiled. “I'm Zion, the weird guy that no one makes friends with.” He said. “Well, you now have a friend, and there's no way I'm leaving your ass all alone.” I told him every single thing about what had happened to me and how I was handling it. He's a very attentive listener, and he was pretty non judgemental about it. “That's a lot. I hate my aunt also, so we're kinda in the same shoes.” He said, and I chuckled. “By the way, the boys here are so freaking hot.” I said, and he laughed. “Too bad you can't hookup with any of them if you're keeping the guy cover you have right now.” Zion joked. Then, I caught a very terrible headache. It was like my head was splitting from the inside out. It took everything in me not to slam the table or scream, because the last thing I want right now is attention. “Are you okay?” Zion asked, whispering to me. “I don't think so.” I growled, slamming the table because the headache was sending me. “I think your mom is using black magic to find you.” He said, and the possibility of that crept under my skin whilst my nostrils also took another route. “I also think my mate is in the area. He's somewhere. I can smell him. I'm drawn to him.” I growled, fighting all these feelings at once. I grabbed Zion’s arm as the headache got worse. It was as if someone was trying to access my memories, but I wasn't allowing them. The more they tried, the harder I fought. And the harder I fought, the greater the headache I felt. “Your body is burning up already!” Zion said, sounding traumatised. “I should get help.” “No! Don't!” I snapped, letting my claws out. I was feeling like I'd shift if care wasn't taken. I had been pushed to the edge, and I might just lose control. All of a sudden, the headache disappeared, and my body came back to normal. I could breathe properly, and I wheezed really loudly, coughing up terribly also. It took a while for me to calm down, unsure if my cover had been blown or not. I tried eating a piece of the steak on my plate when the scent came again. My mate is somewhere here!LAST CHAPTER. SCARLETT'S POV It had been a month since I lost everything. Thirty long days and nights that felt like years. A month since everything that mattered to me was ripped out of my hands. My heart still felt empty, like someone had reached inside and plunged it out. I had lost my child. Our child. The only piece of hope I had been clinging to during all the chaos. I miscarried after the Battle of Castmere. One moment I was screaming Franklin’s name, watching him fall, and the next moment there was blood running down my legs. My own voice still echoed in my head, the panicked cry, the feeling of my hands shaking, trying to stop the bleeding while the world burned around me. I lost our baby, and I almost lost him too. Now I sit by the edge of the bed every day, staring out through the window. The sky moved on without me. People passed by below. Life outside the walls went on like nothing had happened. But inside me, it was quiet, dead, like a burned-out shell. Nothing had c
Scarlett's POV Tenebris approached me with so much calm, like he was trying to savour his prey before pouncing on me. Zion’s death shook me to the core. Although he got evil when I never expected, it didn't make him less of the man that I knew at the beginning. My knees immediately became weak, and I couldn't even try to escape. Escaping would be like the dumbest thing to do at this point, because there's nowhere for me to escape to. Drayton had been knocked out, and Tenebris was approaching with a smirk on his face. Michelle was screaming, shaking Zion and begging him to wake up. Tears flowed freely down my eyes as it all happened around me. There was nothing to be happy about. Too many people have died because of me. Too many people have died because the Demon King wants revenge for a death that happened thousands of years ago. I was not so deep in thoughts, until I realized that Tenebris was standing in front of me, hovering over me. “Hello, moon lady.” He said, smilin
Zion’s POV“Ah… I really never saw this coming.” Tenebris growled. “One of my kind betraying me?”“You banished me, remember?” I shot back at him, holding the spear like my life depended on it. I never really mastered the use of spears, but from the way he paced back, he must have a deep fear of this one, and it should be enough to keep him away. “You were banished. That makes sense.” He growled. “Now, leave my way with that thing, and I'll let you back into the fold, and increase your rank too.” “Sorry, but it's kinda late for that already.” I growled. “I want to spill your blood badly.” “You have a better chance of getting into the Demon realm without my approval than landing one slight hit on me.” He mocked me. “I guess we'll see then.” I smirked, holding the spear that I had gotten through sweat and blood. Extracting its ore was difficult, but the King of the East seemed very keen in helping. He eventually told me that the moon goddess had appeared to him in a dream, commandi
Drayton’s POV I held my sword tight as we charged at Tenebris who had now completely taken over Franklin's body. His eyes were nothing but black pits, his smile cruel, and the storm itself seemed to bow to him. Every step he took echoed loudly like it was not an open space with enough people around, and for the first time in years, I felt fear coil in my chest. The ten royal guards rushed forward first with their aswords drawn. Their faces showed no hesitation. They were the finest of my warriors, handpicked to guard the kingdom at the cost of their lives if needed.Tenebris didn’t even flinch. He stood with his sword low, almost lazily, waiting for them. It looked like he was about to have dessert before dinner. The first guard reached him with a fast and heavy strike. Tenebris tilted his head, almost bored, then lifted his sword in an effortless motion. The clash rang through the hall like thunder. A heartbeat later, Tenebris slid his sword across the guard’s chest. The man gaspe
Scarlett's POV I was staring at Franklin, but it didn't look like him. He looked like he had become nonexistent in a body that was supposedly his. He looked lost, tired, and angry. His eyeballs had gone totally black. There was not even a single white part. His cloth had turned white, and although he killed every single person outside the gates, there was not a stain of blood on his cloth. He had a vicious smirk on his face that made him scarier. The way he held his sword showed that he only had one intention; to kill. “What do you want?” I asked.“You of course, baby girl.” He said with a smirk that made my skin crawl with fear. The dragon turned to look at me, shaking his head.“Don't speak to him. Let's not allow any horrible energy.” He said, and I just shrugged. Michelle and Thane flanked me on both sides. Thane was the only one holding a sword. Michelle on the other hand held a gun, while I was defenseless. They were treating me like a child that didn't know his way. “Tene
Tenebris’ POV“Where's my horse?” I asked, feeling intense anger. I had enough time.“We have prepared one for you, but wouldn't you rather prefer a horse?” North asked , and I shrugged.“I asked for a horse, don't play on my intelligence by suggesting anything else.” I growled, and he hurriedly nodded. “I'll take you outside to where it is.” Timber said, walking past me. I turned my back, and I walked with him to where the horse was. I could feel heaviness around the place, but I wasn't so sure about it. I touched the horse, and its eyes turned black. I caressed its back, and that was when I was sure that there were people lurking around with intentions to harm me. “Come out of hiding now!” I snapped, and Timber moved back against the wall. About fifteen soldiers with void in their eyes stepped forward out of nowhere. I scoffed at the sight of them.“Something to test my skills with.” I scoffed, holding the sword as they came at me. The first one came at me, faster than any norm
