Franklin's POV
“Franklin… let me speak, please.” Scarlett begged, but I was still silent. I was fuming in pain, feeling stupid for letting my guard down so easily. The stench of satisfied horniness was all over her, and she didn't do it all by herself. She had help, from someone that smelled like lavender oil, or at least used a lot of it. “What do you want to say?” I growled, feeling my head ache intensely. “You should go and be with the person that you have sex with so much that I can't smell anything else off you!” “You're being unfair.” Scarlett muttered. A tear dropped from her eyes, and my heart broke even more. “I… I… I…” I stuttered. “What was I really expecting?” “I am a beast!” I growled, slamming the table. “I can't offer you anything!” “Franklin… please.” “I will probably die in a few months, and none of these would matter.” I muttered, feeling my eyes starting to hurt. It felt like nails were constantly hammering in my eyes, making them hurt badly. “Franklin, I can explain.” Scarlett said with a persuasive tone. “Nothing should be explained.” I said flatly. “You're human, and I'm a beast. I have nothing that you need, and I'm not who you should have in your life, so it makes sense if you ask me.” “So, it doesn't matter that I've been trying so hard to save you?” Scarlett asked. “The point is, I've heard everything you said, and I still can't get past the smell of lavender on your body!” I growled, throwing the table off. It hit one of the lights, and the bulb broke. Scarlett screamed, covering her ears with her hands, looking absolutely petrified. “And I'm so delusional that I don't want anyone else to touch you, talk less of having sex with you!” I growled, standing on my feet as I got angry over what wasn't worth it. “Franklin, please…” Scarlett begged, now crying. “Leave!!” I yelled, but she wouldn't listen. “It just happened.” She defended. “And it's been happening ever since!” I growled, trying to get my mind past it, but it wasn't worth it. “In the end, I'm just a worthless beast that wants to claim someone that's not his.” I growled, turning my back on her. I fumed in peace, trying to block my nose from smelling. I couldn't get past it. I was consistently drawn back by the several possible sights of whoever it was that was getting every piece of her. I felt her hands touch my back, and I turned back in anger, lucky that I didn't hit or injure her. “Franklin, please, let me just get through with this plan to shift you back to your human state.” Scarlett begged. “You think any of that matters now that you're with someone else?!?” I snapped, and she started moving backwards. That was when I realized that I was taking slow thuds closer to her like I was going to kill her. “I've lost everything!! And the only way I've held on to life was you!! The idea of you!” I growled, slamming my hand on another table, and it broke into two. Scarlett was visibly scared now. She was shaking profusely, and I kept walking till her back hit the wall. “I'm trying to get rid of the images that my head is making up, but I can't even stop smelling him all over you!” I growled, hovering over her. She started hitting my chest whilst crying. I didn't move an inch. “Hate me! Hate me now!!” Scarlett yelled. I only looked at her, watching her scream and throw herself at me, punching and hitting me. All of a sudden, she stopped hitting me, and moved back, crying. “Do you hate me?” Scarlett asked out of the blue. I scoffed, shaking my head. I could only try, but I'd be unsuccessful with it. “I don't hate you.” I muttered, looking at her. “I can't hate you. I don't want to.” “In the grand scheme of things, I'm just a nobody that likes the girl way above his pay grade.” I growled, hurting myself the more. Scarlett tried to move closer to me, probably reaching for a hug, but the smell of lavender oil got to me first. “Don't!” I ordered firmly, accompanying it with a growl. “You should go and be with the lavender guy.” I said, feeling my chest hurt. “That's definitely the guy for you.” “You're not going to ask who he is?” She asked, and my skin crawled with disgust and intense anger. “And do what? Hurt myself the more? Kill him? Attack your Academy just to kill him?” I asked, trying to stay sane. “You know what hurts the most ?” I muttered, shaking my head. “You're very happy about it. Your body has always reacted to it well every single time.” “Orion…” She called, and I sent her a death stare. “That's the horror of having your sensation a million times better than everyone else's!” I growled. “I don't want to smell anyone over you!” “I want to sniff you when you're asleep, and smell only you!” I growled, feeling tears prick the corners of my eyes for what could be the second time in my all time history of being a beast. “Franklin…” “Leave!!” I growled. “And never come back.” “Franklin! Don't do that to me.” Scarlett begged, shaking her head. “I'm not doing anything to you! Don't dangle false hope right before me!” I growled, hitting the wall right beside her head. “Don't dangle the hope that I could be human and maybe have a chance with you eventually, don't!” I snapped, hitting the wall again. “Just leave!” I growled, trying to hold back the tears. “Franklin…” “I said leave!!” I roared, shaking the house. She trembled immediately, shaking as she walked out. She dropped a piece of paper on the table, and then ran out. I could hear her cry as she ran out. I wanted to run after her, but I could still smell all of the lavender all over her. My heart thumped against my chest so hard that I could feel my rib cage breaking. I roared, hitting everything I could hit as tears rolled down my eyes. I kicked every piece of furniture my legs could touch, broke every piece of glass my hands could touch. I destroyed the living room, and I still wasn't satisfied. Stupid of me to think that I had a chance with a demi goddess.Scarlett's POV I didn't stop running immediately I left the house. I cried uncontrollably as I ran. I could hear Franklin smashing furniture and several pieces of equipment for a while till my ears couldn't anymore. I never thought… I never expected such to happen. I never knew his senses were so sharp that he could tell me what activities I had involved myself in. I snuck back into the Academy, and I bolted to my room. Thane wasn't in the room, so I had to open up with my key. It took me a while to open it. My eyes were clouded with tears, and I could barely see anything. Franklin had shouted at me, and all I could hear in his voice was pain. It was so loud that it made me want to kill myself for hurting him. I jumped on my bed and covered myself with my blanket, weeping uncontrollably. I could not get his words out of my head. He had said so many things, and every single one of them made sense. It made my chest churn with pain, and it made my whole body ache. “I'm sorry Frank

Scarlett's POV It had been a week since the incident with Franklin. Life was just normal, and I was most times burying my head in books to figure out a cure for Franklin's condition. Alpha Harry had stopped disturbing me, although his gaze would linger, and he would sometimes lick his lips. As for Thane… we had been pretty cool. Our little casual arrangement was perfect. I was getting better at having sex, if there's anything like that. We would make out or have sex in the evening, and I would leave at night to see Franklin. Rose had stopped coming for whatever reason, but I couldn't quite place my hands on it. I never also asked.“So, tomorrow, Lunaris Academy will arrive, and you'll finally introduce me to Michelle.” Zion said, unexpectedly excited about the combined sports fest. I haven't caught a break since he saw her picture on my phone a few days ago.“I already told you that I will.” I said for the millionth time. “You're handsome and nerdy, so you're like halfway through
Scarlett's POV“Is this a usual thing?” I asked as the growls and snarls drew closer. Fear gripped me, but there was nothing I could do. “Sometimes.” Franklin shrugged. “Expecially after full moons, when I leave a litter of dead animals all over the forest, they always try to eliminate me.” “And why do they keep coming back when it has never worked?” I asked.“Because they've actually killed me several times, but they always forget that I can't die. Maybe they're just not intelligent enough.” Franklin said, and that was even more shocking. I stayed rooted in the spot, almost praying that the Earth would open up and swallow me. Franklin slowly turned, and I was hoping that he'd really call it a prank like every other time. “What?” He asked.“They can kill you, and you won't die?” I asked, and he shrugged.“It comes with the curse.” He said, walking round with his huge body. He grabbed a piece of metal, and I could already smell the goriness of what was to happen. “You really don't
Scarlett's POV I followed behind Alpha Harry, cursing under my breath. He closed the door immediately we walked into his office, and then he pinned me against the wall, choking my neck. “Why are you testing me?” He growled, and his eyes darkened. I had to start hitting his hand so he'd realise that I was choking already. Still, he didn't leave me, letting me wriggle under his sturdy arms. He finally left me, and I was all over the ground, wheezing and coughing. I was scratching my neck as my body demanded. I could feel tears pricking against the corners of my eyes, and all I wanted was to wriggle free from his oppression.“You're so angry that you'll kill me because I don't want to fuck you?” I asked, shaking my head in disbelief. “Are you that deprived of love?” “You wouldn't speak to me in that manner, else I'll make your life a living hell.” He growled at me.“No, you wouldn't.” I responded, rubbing my neck gently. “And I really hate being threatened.” I muttered. “You should
Franklin's POV I barely held on to my consciousness after stabbing myself with a sharp stick. I wasn't sure what happened after. The next morning, I checked every part of the forest just to be sure I didn't kill Scarlett. When I was done searching, I lurked close to the Academy, but she didn't show up. Not once did I see her all through the hours I spent there. I eventually gave up, and made my way back to the house. Why did I even think she'd understand anything about me in the first place? Why would she come back after all I had put her through? I could have killed her. “Why didn't she listen to me?!?” I blurted out my thoughts. “If she had just left the numerous times I begged her to, we definitely wouldn't be having this problem.” I hissed, kicking a whole tree to the ground. I looked down at the roots, and it only fell easily because it had been hurt before. I kept pacing round the room, and no matter the amount of things I tried, I couldn't get Scarlett off my mind. She w
