Clementine

In the world where social hierarchy exists, there’s an 8 year old girl who lives in an orphanage and works for money. She has golden hair, and rainbowed eyes. Her eyes can change depending on how she feels. If she’s angry, her eyes will turn to red, if she’s sad, her eyes will turn to blue, but her normal eye colour is golden brown.

“Clementine!” the head of the orphanage shouted to her. She quickly runs towards the room next to her, then asks the head.

“How may I be of help to you, my lady?” she asked, while looking at the floor. The headmaster of the orphanage’s name is Baroness Christie Blair of the Blair Family. She’s married to the Baron of Blair, who’s close to the 3rd son of the late Emperor, Emperor Julius.

“Did you really clean this room?!” she asked Clementine.

“I did, lady Christie,” she replied.

“Clean this room again, and if I saw another speck of dust in here,  you will receive another punishment, understand?” the Baroness shouted as she threw the rag on Clementine’s face, then left the room.

“I understand, my lady,” she replied as her eyes changed into a mix of blue and red. She felt sad because her life will still be the same as she grows older, but she’s also angry because the Baroness did not care about the children in the orphanage and used the money that the Grand Duke of Whistleton has been sending to support the orphanage in his territory.

Grand Duke of Whistleton is the Duke who rules over the northern part of the empire. It is a cold land where they experience the long term winter season and short term summer season. The Grand Duke is also the knight of the current Emperor, Emperor Clyde Westernia, who had 2 childrens, Prince Noah Westernia and Prince Benjamin Westernia.

Clementine left the room as it was already cleaned in the first place. There is no dust that can be seen there and there’s no dust to sniff. Her eyes came back to its golden brown colour.

“Clementine, where are you going?” one of the children in the orphanage asked her as she was seen heading towards the gate of the orphanage.

“I’m going to buy a few things,” she replied.

“But we are not allowed to go outside,” her friend said.

“Don’t worry, I’m just going to find a few things,” Clementine replied while smiling.

“But if the headmaster caught you, she’ll punish you again,” her friend worriedly said. Clementine held her hand, then smiled warmly at her.

“I’m already used to it, so please don’t mind me and do your job or else you would be punished,” Clementine said.

“Okay, but please be back before the madam comes back,” she said. Clementine nodded, then waved her goodbye.

Clementine walked in the snowy weather of the north and walked through the alleyway a few metres away from the centre fountain. She looked around before knocking 3 times at the door. It opened, then revealed a big man with a strong aura and physical body.

“Who are you?” the man asked, but instead of answering him, she just walked past him and entered the door.

“I asked who you are?” the man asked as he grabbed Clementine’s left shoulder.

“Hey old man… I think your subordinate wanted to die today,” Clementine calmly said while looking at the man on the counter of a pub.

“Release her,” the man on the counter said.

“But she entered this pub even though she’s just a kid,” the man replied.

“Release her or else I will slice your neck,” the red haired man said while he’s pointing his dagger on the man holding Clementine’s arm while riding it’s back. The man who’s holding Clementine’s arm awhile ago, let her go.

“Dash, lower your dagger,” I said.

“Hey Queen, long time no see,” Dash replied as he hopped down and hid his dagger.

“Did I not mention that you shouldn’t just raise your weapon to our subordinate and be reasonable, Dash” she said while looking at him emotionlessly, then walked towards the man at the pub’s counter.

“I will go upstairs and I will listen to your report, Pi,” she said to the man at the counter of the pub.

“Yes, Queen,” he replied, then Clementine and Dash went towards the office upstairs. Clementine sat on the working table of the office while Dash stood next to her like a little knight.

Dash and Clementine are of the same age and they were friends together with Wolf. They met when they were 3 years old. At that time, Clementine was just roaming around the village of the northern territory, and met the two, Dash and Wolf who were kidnapped for some ransom. She uses her power unknowingly and saves the 2 and from then on forward, they become friends.

“Where’s Wolf?” she asked as she looked at the documents on the table.

“He’s currently taking the last mission that you sent,” he replied as Clementine sealed the paper.

“I did not send him to any mission as he still can’t control his power,” Clementine said.

Dash was about to speak, but someone knocked at the door. Dash walked towards the door and took a little peek at the door before closing it again.

“It’s Pi, should I let him in?” Dash asked Clementine.

“Let him in,” she replied, then Dash opened the door and Pi came in.

“Greeting to you, Queen,” he greeted her as he bowed down.

“No need to bow down on me, but what are you going to report?” she asked.

“The Grand Duke of Whistleton requests our guild to investigate the orphanage that you’re in,” he said and that made Clementine stop her from what she’s doing.

“When did he request such a thing?” she asked.

“He sent it through letters, the letter is on your second drawer to the right,”  Clementine opened the drawer and read the contents of it.

“He’s not just requesting to investigate the orphanage, but also to meet the master of this guild,” she said, then gave the paper to Dash to burn the paper.

“But those who are working for us only told me that I am the master, why would he suspect that I am not the master?” Pi said.

“I don’t know… Dash, investigate it thoroughly… you have the position that we need here to find his motives… I hope for your kind cooperation and Pi, send someone to follow Wolf… it’s still not yet his time for such a dangerous mission, you know that he can’t fully control his power yet,” Clementine ordered.

“I will, queen,” he replied. Clementine stood up.

“Where are you going?” Pi asked.

“To the orphanage,” she casually replied.

“Why don’t you leave that place and stay here in our hide-out?” Dash asked.

“I will… the day after tomorrow,” she replied, then exited the pub.

While she’s walking in the alleyway, she feels that someone is following her, that’s why she took another turn and tried to lose that someone who’s following her. She jumped on the roof, then she saw the one who’s following her. She jumped down and almost knocked the man out. She’s holding a dagger while pointing it towards the person in a cloak.

“Who are you? Who sent you here?” she asked, but instead of answering her, she was just thrown to the ground and the man used a small cloth to cover her mouth and nose, then Clementine lost consciousness.

“Where do you think you’re planning to go with our boss?” Dash asked the cloaked man. The cloaked man jumped off the roof without answering Dash’s question. Dash sent an emergency signal to Pi through the use of their guild’s bird, then Dash followed the cloaked man. As he followed him, the cloaked man jumped off the roof to the ground, but when Dash followed him, they were gone already.

“Who’s that person and what’s his motives?” Dash asked himself, then went back to their guild. When he got back, he met Pi who was about to get out and search for Clementine.

“Who kidnapped our boss?!” Pi asked Dash.

“I wasn’t able to see his face because it’s being covered by the cloak’s hood, but his sword’s crest is familiar,” Dash replied while thinking of the crest.

“Only the noble knights can use a sword with a crest,” Pi said.

“I know, but the question is, who kidnapped Clementine, what’s their motives and how did they know that she’s the real master of our guild?” Dash expressed.

“Everyone, find the boss at all cost, we will wait for everyone’s news in finding her until we get some information on who kidnapped her,” Dash ordered their subordinate.

“I will take charge of the guild until we find her… I hope that she will be fine,” Dash said. Even though he’s speaking firmly, he’s still worried about her friend.

“Pi, contact Wolf and tell him to come back, but do not inform him of what happened here or he will lose control over his power,” Dash ordered.

“Right away,” Pi replied, then started to prepare for an audience with Wolf.
