DARLENE

“This city has changed a whole lot!”

I exclaim as we drive past the city centre towards a leafy suburbs in the outskirts of the city.

Geoffrey's driver is on the wheel and Sandra is seated in the passenger seat. Geoffrey and I take the back seat and his arms don't seem to let my body go.

All I do is to lean on him, relishing all the memories of the time we had together a over a year ago.

“You've lost a lot of weight love. You haven't been feeding well!”

He observes.

“What's there to be fed on behind those steel doors?”

I chuckle, making Sandra chuckle as well.

Doesn't  it feel great to be in the arms of someone you love? Someone you've been thinking about all through, wondering why he abandoned you while you needed him most, not knowing that he is lying in a hospital bed  somewhere fighting for his dear life!
