Chapter 5: Text Messages

It's Sunday morning, so I decided to go for a jog.

I needed to get out and think.

I get up and get some work outwear, grabbing a matching set from the closet.

I grabbed my wallet, phone, and keys.

Go out to the park and take a minute to stare out at the pond.

Start to control my breathing, then begin the jog around the pond. The pond is pretty big, I usually take a couple laps.

As soon as I am done with my jog, I go to my favorite food truck and order a snack.

I also get a bottle of water, especially.

I go and sit on a park bench, to watch the couples walking about. After I get done I go back to the dorm.

As I arrived at the dorm I went inside.

I would usually do school work for Monday but we are on break.

We have two weeks of break, so I grab a notebook.

I start to write down all the things I would like to do for the next two weeks, before school starts back up.

I know I would like to go to the club, and maybe do some more races. So, I grab my phone and text my crew what races we have coming up. Then I texted my girlies and asked if they wanted to go to the club.

As I wait for anyone to answer my text, I realize I need to get a shower.

So, I get up and get some clothes, then go to the shower.

Once I get out, my phone pings.

I go to look at it, in hopes someone responded to my text. But instead I see it's I*******m, I have a like on one of my cars I posted.

I don't know the profile name, so out of curiosity I click on it.

The person has a lot of car posts too.

I see one picture of a person standing in the sunset.

The picture is hard to make out because the person is a black figure, the sun is playing on the figure.

From what I can see he looks fine as hell.

There was a bang at the door, I jumped out of my skin and accidentally hit the heart icon.

At the time I didn't notice I did it, I just put my phone down.

I ran to the door and there stood Tate and Skye.

"What's up girls?" I asked.

Skye shook her head.

Tate looked at me and showed me the text I sent her.

"Oh, yeah you guys want to go out tonight or not." I said.

We walked into my room Tate said, "Sure, but are you sure yesterday you were talking about how you felt uneasy about going to the club again".

She and Skye had a look of confusion.

"I mean, after last night I think it might have been Finn.

They looked at me confused.

Then I explained, "He wants me back again.

" Tate said, "Shit, are you serious?".

I looked at her and rolled my eyes.

Skye said, "I'm sure that's all he wants, especially after he almost hit Tate".

I looked at them and said, " I'm not going to let him ruin things again."

So, we got ready for another night of partying.

We got into Skye's car because thanks to Finn Tate's car is in the shop.

Skye has a Camaro, it's pretty fast not my kind of car. I would prefer a McLaren Speedtail, blue or black that would be sweet.

That's one of the reasons I did these races so I can afford the car of my dream.

We arrived at the club, you can hear the music outside of the place. It's even more crowded than the other night.

We got past the bouncers headed in.

As soon as we are inside, the music is playing another of our favorite songs "Boy Toy".

We head to the dance floor and start dancing. As soon as the song is over we get some drinks.

After a while of dancing, I have to use the bathroom.

So, I told my girlfriends they asked if I wanted them to come with me. I told them, "No, I will be right back just to have fun".

As I was heading to the bathroom, there was a line.

So I wait, I see the guy the other night walk in.

I say out loud, "Oh, Shit."

I look around finally it's my turn to get in the bathroom I run in really quick.

After using the bathroom, I walked out of the stall.

I walk to the mirror and check my makeup.

Then I stare at myself for a few minutes and calm down before I go back out there.

I stepped out of the bathroom door, and walked into a hard wall it felt like. I looked up slowly, it wasn't a wall but the man that I had only seen for a few minutes.

We make eye contact, his hands are on my sides because I almost fell when I walked into him.

We stare at each other for what felt like an eternity. I finally said, "Sorry, excuse me." He kept staring.

He finally said, "My bad, I just didn't want you to fall." he let go of my sides.

I replied, "It's okay, I should've watched where I was going!".

We started laughing, I looked at him.

Then, I finally asked, "Would you like to come and dance with my friends and I".

He told me, "I don't think that's a good idea."

I said, "Okay, it was nice to meet you".

He walked away.

I returned to my friends, but of course Skye was sitting at the bar talking to the bartender.

Tate was flirting with a guy in a booth.

I was left on the dance floor not sure what to do.

So I looked around, I thought about looking for the guy but thought I'm not going to find him in the crazy ass crowd.

So, I decided to dance by myself, as another one of my favorite songs came on.

I started dancing to "My Oh My" by Camila Cabello, as I was dancing I felt my hands on my waist.

I reach up and place my hands around the person's neck and keep dancing.

I turned around and it was who I'd wanted it to be.

The whole room disappeared once our eyes met.

I looked at the bar and saw Skye and Tate staring at us.

After the dance he leaned down and said, " I have to go!".

Skye and Tate came over and looked at me and asked, "Who was that?".

I told them, "I have no idea".

We decided to leave because Tate was really drunk.

We got outside, it was cold as shit so we ran to the car.

Skye and I get Tate in the car, then we get in.

We get to the dorms, I help Skye to get Tate to her room.

I tell Skye goodnight and head to my room.

I get into my room, ping my phone and go off, as I reach for it.

I hear another ping ping, I get it out and see who it is.

Two texts and an I*******m notification, first text is from my ex Finn another from Skye.

The notification on I*******m was from the profile that liked my photo except this time was an actual picture of a guy.

It wasn't like in my photos, but an dm.

In the dm said, "I had fun tonight!".

I sit on my bed and smile really big.

I decided to reply, "I did too!", then sent a smiling face.

I go to my texts and see what the hell my ex sent, he said,"Baby girl, let's get back together I miss you!".

I can't believe him so I decided to reply with,"Get it in your head we are not getting back together".

So, I go to my other text after I block my ex.

I went to Skye's text and she sent me a picture of myself and a mystery man.

I sent her a text back, saying,"hahaha, he sent me a DM!".

I got dressed for bed, brushed my teeth washed my face and climbed in bed.
