Chapter 3: Illegal Race

I woke up with a headache, I took some ibuprofen and drank a bottle of water.

As I make it to the bathroom, to use the bathroom and brush my hair and teeth.

I go to my closet and grab an outfit, return to the bathroom and change.

I grab my black straight leggings, black crop, leather jacket, and my boots. I quickly do my hair and makeup.

I grab the laundry and take it to the laundry room to do it, I need the extra sheets.

As soon as the laundry is done I take it back to my room.

As soon as I get back my phone "pings".

I grab it and see it's a reminder, and look at the time.

"Shit, I have to get ready for today", I said out loud.

I was still in my head after everything that happened at the club last night.

Suddenly, I hear a loud "Bang bang Bang".

I ran over and opened the door and there stood Tate and Skye.

Tate and Skye asked if I was hungry before we went to the street race tonight.

We always go to dinner before every race it is traditional.

As we sit down for dinner, Tate flirts with the waiter.

Skye asked me, " What was going on with you last night?".

I told her, "I think that someone was watching us"!

She looked at me so confused.

Then I replied "that I wasn't sure from where".

She then said " are you sure"? I said, " I'm not sure, it was just a feeling that I couldn't overcome".

Then as soon as the waiter was out of sight.

Tate decided to enter the conversation, "so what are we talking about"? Tate asked.

Skye replied " we were talking about, last night"!

Then as we sat there I told them about the dream I had last night too. They both looked at me and said " we need to know who this is because it sounds like fun".

We finally get our food, it looks so delicious.

We dig into the food, I start thinking about last night and laugh it off to myself.

We pay for the food and begin to leave.

As we make it outside I turn to the girls.

We begin to laugh because we know what is happening tonight.

My ex is going to be racing tonight, so I'm I.

I am going to borrow Tate's car for the race because my bike isn't for this race otherwise I would when.

My ex hated that I rode a bike.

But nothing is hotter than a girl who can ride a bike.

Tate looked at me and said, " Do me a favor don't wreck my baby, please"! I said, " don't worry I got this I'm going to make him pay"! We started giggling, and got in the car.

We get there and get out of the car.

I start walking up to our other friends, they do not go to our college. We met under other circumstances, we went to a party a couple of years ago and that's where I met my ex and he introduced us to them. They set up the races every weekend.

They kind of made me the queen of the club.

So, I race for my crew.

There are a lot of different crews that show up.

After my ex and I broke up he joined a new crew of course.

Sure you guessed it for another girl that he was sleeping with behind my back.

He wanted me to be a girl I wasn't.

We hadn't even graduated college and he was asking me to be his wife.

I knew he was cheating on me, but he had no clue. I can't give up this life it's so exciting.

A few months ago he came to my dorm and tried to beg me to take him back.

Of course that comes with giving up who I am and I like me.

Tate and Skye start pulling me to go dance before the race starts, once again another tradition.

It helps let off some steam.

Before I get behind the wheel.

This is the first race that I have been able to go to in a few weekends. I get to race against that asshole, his shitty car is a piece of shit compared to Tate's car.

After a shot of vodka, a little more dancing with my girlies.

The race is going to be starting soon.

The race coordinator comes up to tell us how it is going to go.

Finn comes over to me and says, " you ready to be beat by the best thing you ever had".

I whispered a little loudly on purpose, " Are you ready to beat a girl, who's better than you".

He smiled and rolled his eyes, then walked away.

See this race is important tonight, tonight is going to show who is the best crew.

We get into the cars and start soon.

I get into the car and my first opponent pulls up, I kick his ass.

Then the ex has his race, he races the other not so good loser.

Then it's our turn, I get into the car and wait.

He pulls up next to me and winks at me and smiles.

I can't wait to wipe that stupid smile off his dumb face.

He turned to me again and said, "I win we go out again and I will give up a five second head start because you're a girl".

How funny he thinks he is, I think he was too busy with his tongue deep in that bitches mouth to watch me kick the first idiots ass.

So, I replied to him, " that's cute, that you think you're going to beat me".

The gun goes off. "Bang".

So, in the next five seconds I look at the mirror and fix my lipstick. Turn to him give him a wink then blow him an air kiss.

He said, "What are you doing? I gave you five seconds".

I turned to him and said, "I know I am using them well".

And we are off he cuts me off like the little bitch he is.

As we reach the first bend.

I finally get around him and blow another kiss as I fly by him, so cute that he can beat me.

I see the frustration in his eyes as he tries so hard.

As I get to the second bend he starts ramming into the back of Tate's car.

What an asshole, so I place my foot down even harder.

I kick his ass, I look at Tate and tell her," I will pay to fix your car". Tate looked at me and said, " No, that asshole is going to pay for it". She goes over and starts yelling at him.

The next thing I knew he turned his back and turned to swing at her. Out of nowhere I see a man's arm come out of nowhere and grab it. Then I see my ex on the ground as a punch is landed on his face.

Skye looked at me, we ran over and grabbed Tate and got the hell out over there as quickly as possible.

Tate starts driving again.

She turns to us and says, "Did you see that asshole"?

I turned to Tate and said," We are just lucky that guy was there". Skye replied," Who the hell was that?".

I look out the window, in my own head trying to figure it out.

He looked at me, right before he punched my ex in the face. Something seemed familiar but I couldn't place his face.

We arrived at the dorms, then went to our rooms.

I laid in bed, thought to myself that we were really lucky he was there.

But his face, those dark eyes, the way his hair fell on his face.

I could sense danger in his eyes, and I will admit that it was kind of sexy.

That night I got ready for bed laid back down, and fell asleep thinking of him.
