Xavier:

Charlotte's words shattered my heart into pieces and left me devastated.

A part of me felt she was just speaking out of anger, but another part felt she was telling the truth.

I thought of the right words to say to her, but the minute I opened my mouth, I just couldn’t speak.

“I need to go get some fresh air,” I simply said, walking towards the door.

She clearly needs some time alone, and so do I.

I walked out of the room and met with one of the staff in the hallway.

“How may I help you, sir?” One of them asked.

“I need you to point me to the bar,” I answered.

“It’s right behind the reception,” Another one of them responded.

“Thank you,” I muttered, walking away.

Charlotte telling me she wanted nothing to do with me was not the only thing on my mind that worried me.

My father had once told me he originated from the same werewolf lineage as Ethan which means Charlotte bloodline is shone with mine.

This also meant she was as strong as I thought and only needed to t

  • Comeback Of The Rejected Luna    CHAPTER 49

Charlotte As Xavier drove us to the cemetery, I couldn’t help but think about my life all over again. First I was a badly treated daughter from a family I was sure didn’t love me. Next, I was the girl that murdered her sister, from being accused of murder, to being made to marry an heartless alpha who constantly belittled me, crushed my self esteem and visibly hated me. Few months in, I was thrown out of Ashton’s pack by the same sister I was accused of murdering. I became a girl that roamed about in the woods for hours before Xavier finally came to my rescue. Since Xavier rescued me from the wood, it has been from one thing to another also. From finding out I was adopted to trying to find my parents to discovering that Xavier and I were from the same lineage. As I thought about all these, I fought back hot tears as I didn’t want Xavier to see me crying again. “Are you okay?” Xavier asked me with his eyes fixed on the road. I nodded. I knew if I attempted to open my mou

Xavier Charlotte’s expression instantly changed after I finished speaking. “I need to go get ready for bed so we can leave early tomorrow ,” She said as she stood up and went into the shower. I watched as she walked away , and I knew, of course, that she did not feel the best way about her situation right now. “Or was it the conversation about Ashton that pissed her off?” I asked myself. I shook my head, “ I don’t think this is about Ashton” If it was about Ashton, I don’t think she would worry this much. Also, I already told her that I will take care of Ashton and protect her from him so she has nothing to worry about. After thinking about it for a few more seconds, I got up and laid back in bed too. The next morning, the sound of charlotte packing woke me up very early in the morning. I wondered if she got any sleep at all as I watched her pack her bags. She turned swiftly to look at me and I had to close my eyes again, pretending to still be asleep. As I closed

Charlotte: Seeing Xavier like this really breaks my heart especially because I know I am the cause of his pain. There was just no space for him in my heart; all I feel right now is anger. After we succee in taking revenge on Lydia and Ashton, I was finally going to leave him alone. He deserves better. I watched as he slept so peacefully, but soon snapped out of it. “I’m sorry, Xavier,” I whispered to him, then gently covered him with a blanket. Afterward, I resumed checking my mother’s belongings, but there was nothing more to see. I gently packed the items back in the box and placed them in the wardrobe. I then tried to close the wardrobe but remembered I had to see my mother’s grave the next day. All the dresses I brought on the trip didn’t seem good enough. They were either too flashy or too dull. I contemplated going to the nearest store to find what to wear, but the hotel was about an hour to town, which meant I would have to leave Xavier alone for two hours. “I have to

Charlotte: “Are you sure that’s him?” I asked, seeing how confused and startled Xavier was. “Of course,” Xavier replied. “This is a picture of him and his beta.” “The old lady did mention that my mother was impregnated by a beta, must be your father’s beta,” I said. The realization that my father and Xavier’s father belonged to the same pack was a profound one. “Today is filled with surprises,” I muttered, continuing to go through my mother’s things while Xavier stared at the picture in disbelief. There was a small necklace with my mother’s initials in the box. This was the first item in the box that excited me. I gently picked it up and turned towards the mirror in the room. I then wore it around my neck and felt a sense of peace. “Now you will always be with me, mother,” I muttered, trying hard so fight my tears. I was determined not to cry anymore and only focused on what’s next, now that I know the truth. “I know where your father might be,” Xavier said. Hearing him sa

Charlotte: Finding out my father didn't want me was one thing, but finding out that my mother, the only person who might have truly loved me, was dead is another. Xavier tried to calm me down by holding my hands, but I was just too upset. I had no idea what I expected to find out about my real parents, but this was way worse. A dead mother who suffered till death and an evil father was just so unexpected. “We should leave if we want to get home early,” I whispered to Xavier. As much as I enjoyed hearing stories about my mother, I could not stand to hear how much she suffered anymore. Xavier nodded his head in agreement, and after we both thanked the old lady for her help, Xavier offered her some money, but she refused. Instead, she walked closer to me and looked me straight in the eye. “Your mother loved you a lot, Lila. She was so strong and brought you to this world despite the many challenges she faced,” She stated. I was moved to tears by her words, but composed myself.

Charlotte “Alice,” the old man called, but there was no answer. “Alice,” The man called again. “Can you hear me at all?” He asked her. But Alice wouldn’t respond, she just kept moving very close to me and looking at me intensely like she had seen me somewhere before. I got so worried and Xavier even tried to move closer to where I was, and stood in front of me blocking the woman from seeing me but she wouldn’t stop. “Wait, Are my eyes deceiving me?” The woman finally said again, breaking the silence. I looked at the old man that brought us here and he looked just as confused. “Alice, what are you talking about? I brought these people to you so you could help them and now ——“ “Wait, Lila, Is this you?” Alice said again, pointing at me. At this point, I began to get so scared. “Who is this woman and why does she keep calling me Lila?” I asked myself. “Lila!” She called again, pissing me off. “Good day ma, My name is not Lila. I am charlotte.” I said firmly. “No,

Xavier We left Sophia’s office and immediately got in the car. I studied the address for a bit and then I began driving. After about 30 minutes of driving, it seemed like I was lost as I wasn’t getting any closer to any residential area. I tried to use a digital map but the signal was bad so I gave up. “Let’s just go back to the orphanage if you don’t get the place,” Charlotte said, breaking the awkward silence in the car. I didn’t say any more words and I just continued driving, hoping that I would find the place soon or even find someone that can help us with a clear description of the place. I stole a quick glance at Charlotte and noticed she looked a bit irritated. “Don’t worry, I’ll find the place soon.” I assured her and she just nodded without saying anything. After another 5 minutes of driving away from where we parked, I saw an old man who looked like he was taking a walk. I quickly stopped the car and heaved a sigh of relief. I was grateful we finally found

Xavier: Sleeping next to Charlotte didn’t seem like a good idea after the way she acted out. She seemed cranky, and all I wanted was to give her some space, but thanks to some receptionist mixing things up, I could not. “Over here,” one of the staff who helped us with our luggage said, pointing towards the door with the room number on it. “Let me,” I said to Charlotte, stretching my hands towards her. She handed the key to the room to me, and I opened up the door, but as I walked in, I was shocked by the arrangements in the room. There was a queen-sized bed in the middle of the room, which was decorated with rose petals. There were also white candles placed around each corner in glasses. “Enjoy your honeymoon,” One of the staff said, placing our luggage beside me before walking out. “I’m really sorry about this, I will sleep on the couch,” I muttered to Charlotte, who didn’t seem sad about the situation we were in. “Don’t be sorry, the decoration is really pretty,” She repli
