Chapter 16
Alex found himself on his side staring at Amanda as she slept. She looked so peaceful in her sleep and innocent, he smiled, happy at the thought that she was at least happy in Dreamland. She was the strongest young lady he had ever met, with everything she had gone through he has never not seen her smile in a day, she didn't have it all, but she was satisfied with the little.
He sighed rolling into his back and staring up at the ceiling. He knew why she didn't want to be his girlfriend yet, she needed to find her path, solve the past, then move on with the future. People would surely call him crazy, in fact, he would call 'him' crazy, falling in love with the same woman who stole from you the first time she met you, who is still currently stealing from other people.
He wondered what she went through the two years on the street before Jason and Jacob took her in, how she survived, the things she does now is as result of what she had to do back then.
