Chapter six

The debate finally came, there were thirty states and all the states that partake were invited. Destiny stood on the podium in all her glory, she was very neat and beautiful, her long hair was neatly maid and smelling well. 

       Her white shirt was well looked and attractive, her white socks and shoes were well polished. She held her notebook and pen in her hand. They were asked to take their seat while the moderator gave the instructions. 

       "Today's competition is between thirty states that register for the debate. Our topic for today is "Should a rapist abusers go unpunished?" The state will be sub divided into two, which would involve fifteen candidates each, fifteen candidates are to support and fifteen candidates are to against. After all representatives were participated we are going to fix out the winner which will be a single person from each side. After fixing them out, then, the two sides will compete among themselves. We are tossing the coin now on who to support or against. Group A are to support while group B are to against " 

         The debate began with arguments from both sides, having practiced by Destiny, she was bold enough to step forward. She came out five times likewise others and finally she was fixed out as the leader of her group, a leader was fixed out from other groups too.

         After a five minutes break they were called back to the stage. Group B leader was the first person to talk and after that, destiny came out to support the motion, she opened her mouth to speak. 

       "I stand on the existing protocol, I, Destiny Faith, was the reason why a rapist should never go unpunished ; I was born nowhere to be traced on the street. I was born in poverty and am still battling with poverty. Was this a cause or faith? , this was my anthem everyday, this question was bordering my mind until I asked her on day "where are we originated from" my mother narrated everything to me. My grandfather was a very popular business man, having several car's and a company. But on a sadden day, he had a car accident and left my mother at a teenage age. My mothers aunt promised to take care of her and she did until one incident happened. An armed robber visited my mothers house requesting money but they offered them nothing. Instead of fighting my mothers aunt, they dance the anger back on my mom, my mom was raped which leads to my birth. My mothers aunty began to maltreat my mom, all to abort my pregnancy but my mother insisted and stood on her word. After a lot of frustration, she ran away with my pregnancy and finally gave birth to me on the street with pain and tears. My mother lose her aunty's love because of rape.  

       My mother's experience is the reason why I can ask you boldly, based on my story, should a rapist go unpunished? " She went back to her seat with uncontrollably tears. Her group mate and others went to her to wipe her tears. 

      At the end, before the judge could announce the winner, the crowd helped them in the announcement of group A while Destiny belongs too, "And the debate of the year is Destiny Faith". The audience went wild in excitement. While Destiny goes to the podium to receive her award and prize. This was the first award she has ever won in her life and she was so happy with it.
