Emma was sold for the sake of peace, however, it was just a plan to calm the masses. It was a sham to cover the fact that she was a prisoner of the man that destroyed her country. "I want to make a deal, release me, and you will have the most incredible treasure that ever existed in this land." "Never, wife." "Why? Don't you want to make your wish come true?" He smiled, "I already have the most incredible treasure in the world and my greatest wish is also by my side." "What? What is that?" He looked at her tenderly and whispered into her ear, "You." Chapter 1

Chapter 1. Emma

"Emma Monde, do you take His Highness, Duke Liam Kobach to be your husband, to honor him, to cherish him, and to respect him from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?”

Silence filled the temple. Only a breath of expectation invaded the ears and hearts of the crowd. However, the beautiful woman in the white long wedding dress didn’t answer.

Several seconds later, the poor old priest cleared his throat as almost a thousand sweat tiny drops fell from his wrinkled forehead.

"Miss… Miss Monde?" The priest insisted in a low voice, but enough for her to hear. The book he was holding almost fell from the shaking pressure of the groom's piercing stare. "Miss..."

"Sigh..." The clear and soft breath of the beautiful bride echoed to mesmerize the church walls. The sound came like a warm breeze that was being forced out, but never lost its elegance and dignity. "Yes, I do."

That was it, those three words sealed her future.

"Now I pronounce you, husband and wife. You shall be happy for the rest of your days."

The old man almost shook Emma's hands to thank her for answering before a storm exploited. The fury of the groom almost provoked thunder in the sky, damaging the temple roof.

Then, as if scripted, the crowd's loud applause emerged a second later; the cheers couldn't wait to fill the temple and the outside plaza, announcing the origin of the new couple. After all, that little moment was of incredible precedence and marked the end of an era for two Kingdoms.

The King had even announced that the celebrations will last a week, and that day will be considered a national festivity to commemorate the end of the war.

However, even if the cheers and joy of the crowd could easily spread to even the crabbiest person. There were two beings that weren't willing to take part in any of that happiness: the groom and the bride on the altar.

Emma Monde, the beautiful bride on the top of the stairs, was not the only one experiencing a repulsive feeling growing deep in her throat. The man beside her was also repudiating the whole event, but his cold face was carefully trained to never show any expression.

However, Emma knew he was about to explode too. Her alluring golden eyes couldn’t help but look at her fragile hand that was squeezed painfully by the man beside her.

She knew both of them were forced into that marriage. The supposed peace treaty was a complete facade, a decoy to distract the masses from the truth. The Kingdom of Luriem was defeated cruelly and completely, and the only way to stay alive as an independent nation was to concede many lands and positions to Avalor. Thousands of rewards, potions, magic spells and scrolls and even a wife. A beautiful wife for the hero of the war.

Unfortunately for Emma, she was the chosen one. A wedding was forced between the two nations to show the goodwill of both countries. They were told that she was the Duke’s first love, and for her, he was willing to bring peace to the tired hearts of the citizens from both Kingdoms. What a scam, Emma thought.

"Can you let go?" Emma whispered to the man beside her. Her white veil was still concealing her face, but her words were loud enough for him to hear.

The wide sleeve of her dress covered the tight grip on her hand as they walked, it was painful enough to make her frown and sweat, but she couldn’t shove him away. For the sake of appearances, she should stay calm.

'Is he trying to break my hand?'

She felt as if he was looking to fracture her tiny and fragile hand. The pain was making her walk slower, but the man didn't seem to mind it…

"No," He whispered back, but in a cold and angry tone. He gripped her even harder.

'He is doing this on purpose!'

She knew he was furious, but he was not the only one unsatisfied with the marriage. After all, she was taken hostage by her own parents and shoved into the carriage without an inch of mercy, nor an explanation. They only wished her good luck.

Her Kingdom suddenly decided that she was the perfect sacrifice for their country. Even the King of Luriem selected her personally from among a group of more outstanding noble girls than her. What a great honor, they chanted, when the carriage passed the roads of the capital. They congratulated her, they called her heroine, their savior. It came as a big joke to her ears.

The only thing she could think of at that time was to escape. There were many Princesses in the Palace, why would they choose some lowly Count's daughter? Of course, she didn't want to be the sacrificial lamb.

But, as always, her luck was never good. Her parents somehow guessed her motives and plans. Poor Emma, she was trapped on her way out of their castle. A few seconds later, they made her go to the Kingdom of Avalor with magical chains around her ankles, completely sealing her powers. Now she was like a mere human without any magic. Empty and weak.

Without her magic, she didn't have any choice but to comply and go through the wedding ceremony.

The moment she arrived at the temple, some servant girls changed her into an impressive long white wedding dress with pearls and gems adorning it. It looked so magnificent and shiny that for a moment she was dazed with her mouth wide open. She thought she would make many go blind that day. Even the maids couldn't stop giving her compliments with glittering eyes.

However, his rightful husband didn't uncover the veil during the ceremony, and he never took a look at her before and after saying his vows. He only grabbed her hand in a freakin tight grip and pulled her to walk beside him.

"Let go," she whispered again, struggling for her delicate hand to survive. 'This fucking hurts like hell!'

She thought that since both of them were forced to go through that stupid wedding charade, they would at least agree to cooperate and treat each other with respect and dignity; without the need of any discourtesy, but it seems that the man declared his position from the start. He hated her and will make her life a living hell.

The damn Duke had taken her hand as requested by the crowd and pulled her to walk with him all the hallway to the entrance. The carriage was already waiting for them, the same as the rest of the commoners outside the temple.

"Let go now!" She said with a louder voice, but the damn man didn't respond. Instead, he kept walking, almost pulling her with tyrannical strength. It was already difficult to walk in that dress, and now that idiot wasn't making it any easier for her.

Emma was so tempted to use her magic and send him flying to the wall. Unfortunately, she didn't have her magic and that man was not someone she could easily defeat even with her powers back.

After all, he was not only the younger brother of the King, but also the mighty general who led his soldiers into a fierce war to crush Luriems to the ground. He was the famous Liam Kobach.

Their worst and long-term enemy, and now she had to live with that man. The one who hated the luriems the most and had no qualms to show his discontent with the whole peace treaty thing. If not for his loyalty to his brother, he would destroy the whole Luriem Kingdom.

"Can you let go, please?" Emma spoke with a forced smile again, but the man didn't bother to see her. They kept walking to the entrance of the temple. The guests applauded them the whole way.

However, a vein on her forehead was about to explode. At the same time, she was trying hard to control her legs from kicking him and pushing him to the grounds. Even if she was powerless, she still had her hands and feet.

"No," Liam answered back. “Walk faster.”

"Let go, you are hurting me," she whispered, but her anger was about to burst.

"No."

She had it, 'if he wants to play dirty from the start, don't blame me for it.'

"Enough!" She stopped walking and the claps ended. He stopped too.

Silence emerged as a bad premonition, a strange calm mixed with expectation echoed inside the hall.

Emma smiled mischievously.

'You asked for it, you idiot Duke.'

Chapter 2. Punishment
She knew he wouldn't make a scene right there to punish her. Even when he tried to pull her even harder and make her walk again, he did it softly. However, the little stubborn woman that was now his wife didn't budge, instead she stood still like a tree. On the other hand, it took Emma a lot of effort not to cry in pain as she felt her hand was about to separate from her body. 'This damn man, how is he that strong?!' Then, just as he was about to pull her again, she uncovered her face with her free hand. Lovely silver hair came visible to him, a pair of golden eyes, a little upturned nose and beautiful and delicate facial features. Though beautiful was not enough a word to describe her. The crowd could only gasp in shock. Two stunning creatures from two different worlds were looking at each other and falling in love, or so the crowd observing them thought. The cheers and the murmurs couldn't wait to become a loud uproar. "Oh my!" "Did you see her face?" "She is so beautiful!"

Chapter 3 Agreement
Her golden eyes were focused and serious, she wanted to convey her will to go through a peaceful agreement. "Talk," Liam stared at her for a brief moment, he didn’t know why he found her so charming. He tried to keep an indifferent aura, but a glint of interest sparked in his eyes. Emma knew she had caught his attention and maybe not long after, he would agree to her request if she managed it brightly. "My father was the former Duke of Monde, but he lost his position when he decided to marry another woman. He left my mother's house after she died. I inherited her title, and now I am the Duchess of Monde in my country." Emma's mother came from a decaying noble house, however, she was so beautiful that several men asked for her hand in marriage many times despite her family's precarious condition. However, Emma's grandfather didn't agree to any of them. He wanted to preserve the family's noble title and prestige, and for that looked for a groom to marry into the family and inherit the

Chapter 4. Whispers
He looked at her for a brief second, but then, he leaned on the seat and closed his eyes to rest without answering her. Emma thought he was pondering deeply, but many minutes passed, and he hadn't made any sound. She began to grow anxious, her hands were sweating, and she couldn't stop clasping her hands. 'Did he agree?' She didn't know if she should wake him up or not to get his answer. 'This damn man, he dared to fall asleep without responding to me?' She was starting to move her hands in restlessness when she finally decided to wake him up, not minding the consequences. "Do… do you agree?" She muttered, barely audible to the ear. Then again a bit louder, "Do you have an answer?!" However, she didn't get any reaction from the sleeping man in front of her. "Hey, don't leave me without response!" Her hands were itchy to send a slap to that handsome face of his and make him open his eyes. But she better not, as she knew that man will kill her if she dared offend him twice the sam

Chapter 5. Fragrance
They were about to arrive at the Palace, but she was still engrossed in his face. He could feel her body and breath just an inch away from him, but still, he didn't make a move to wake up.'Just a bit more,' he thought. However, the driver stopped the carriage right that very moment, and her face that was observing him as if he were a rare specimen was so distracted that she lost her balance and ended up in his embrace, touching his lips with her soft ones.He opened his eyes in surprise, a delighted surprise."I… I am sorry, I didn't mean to…" She moved back, but he grabbed her waist hard pressing her to his chest."I didn't know you were so proactive, wife." He whispered in her ear, sending shivers to her spine. "I... I wasn't! It was not on purpose."She tried to push him from her, but he kept his hold on her tiny waist. Her veil had long gone and the view of her marvelous face was all he could see, 'Fascinating.'Even closer, she looked like a stunning

Chapter 6. Dragon
"That… I... I am sorry," she was now feeling regretful for that slap. His red eyes were piercing her face and she couldn't stop trembling. "We… we should get down."Emma didn't wait for him to say anything and turned around to open the door quickly. She could feel his fierce and dangerous eyes on her even with the veil on. Her only thought at that moment was to escape. However, the second she stepped out from the carriage, with what it seemed, at first, a skillful jump, she tripped. The long dress prevented her from landing on her feet. She was about to fall face down when a powerful arm wrapped her waist to stop her at the last second. The Duke moved so fast when seeing her fall, that he was surprised. It was as if he was scared of watching her get hurt."Thank... hey!" She wanted to say her thanks, but the brazen man took her waist as if touching some delicate porcelain and carried her into a princess-style hug. "You should be careful, wife…" He smirked. "I

Chapter 7. Flying
Emma knew this was once in a lifetime opportunity, she could notice the trembling hands of the stunning red-haired woman standing before them. It was easy to notice what kind of feelings could raise such anxiety in any woman. 'This could be useful' Emma thought with a mischievous smile covered by the veil. She will make the damn man let her go if she played well her hand."Miss, I am new to this place, can you take me on a tour? My name is Emma Monde," Emma asked with a gentle voice. She wanted the woman to say yes and then when her emotions emerged into a fit of jealousy, Emma could use that to break the spell on her ankle. As only a powerful attack would help her break it. "Miss?"When the voice of Emma traveled to Gia's ears, she could not help but look at her, again in surprise. She was bewildered by how melodious the woman's voice was. It sounded so gentle like a song luring to commit a sin."I… of course," Gia began to say in the smoothest voice she could make. Sh

Chapter 8. Interesting
She quickly stopped hugging him and walked back several steps."Where... where are we?" She looked around with fear and anxiousness. They were hundreds of meters from above the ground and that was not something good for witches, not at all. Never good to witches who relied on their senses to create illusions but a place with only empty space on the sides was of no use. Even less for a powerless luriem like her. "Do you like it?"Liam took her to a huge but elegant chamber adorned marvelously with red and golden curtains, beautiful but simple furniture, and some relaxing paintings hanging on the walls. Elegant, simple, and giving out the aura of power. The same as him. There was also a big library and a study room on one side of the panel, even a small comforting pool in the back. Emma could see it with ease, as the panels were opened. However, something important was missing. She turned around to look for the entrance door, her only escape, but the only thi

Chapter 9. Decision
Emma was still leaving his trance when his whisper sent a tingling to her ear."What?"Taking advantage of her silly moment his hands started untying the back of her dress and lowering it down bit by bit, waiting to see her beautiful sight. Her eyes widened as she could feel his naughty hands grope her hard with every move. "No," she grabbed his hands but she didn't have the strength to fight a dragon filled with desire. "Stop, I… I don't…mm"He kissed her. Those soft lips and that cute little tongue so close to his mouth were a pleasure he was dying to feel again. He felt her struggle, and her fight, but then again her gasps for air and her slowly weakening senses made her follow his lead and he smiled. Liam didn't want to force her, he wanted to lead her to desire him too, but it was taking all his self-control not to. Her fragrance was so sweet and even more when she behaved so shyly and lovingly. His tongue invaded her little mouth guiding her into a f

Chapter 10. Tamed
The cheerful and strong voice echoed in the chamber. Emma woke up the instant the foreign noise reached her ears. Then her eyes focused and her thoughts returned."Hey, Liam!" The voice was from a man outside the main chamber, just a step from opening the curtain of the main room. "Are you sleeping? Why did you leave the wedding that quickly? You didn't even go to the big celebratory party"Before Liam could react as his mouth was playing with Emma's soft breast, she pushed him but then hugged him covering her body. She was so embarrassed when she realized how much she had let the shameless man control her senses."Hey, Liam! Where is your… bride? Oh, my… "A ball of fire was sent to the intruder's face just as he opened the curtain. His mistake was late to correct, as he had seen the always proper Liam embracing the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. When Callum was able to recover from the fiery attack, he noticed that he was sent flying a few miles from the
