Eric-
“Damnit, Eric! Put me down!” Leilani shouted for probably the tenth time today, since leaving the pack doctor.
I didn’t care, I wasn’t taking any chances. She said she was feeling dizzy, so I didn’t want her to faint on me and not be able to catch her again. Plus, I didn’t want her using up all her energy if I was perfectly capable of carrying her.
It wasn’t like she was heavy or anything, she practically weighed next to nothing with how small she was. There was possibly a chance I was feeling overprotective right now because I blamed myself for her condition. Before I had marked her she had been fine.
Not even seconds after I fully claimed her as mine, did she pass out on top of me. I should have known then there was something wrong. Maybe I could have prevented things from getting worse.
After she had passed out, I laid her down and stepped away from her to grab one of my shirts. She hadn’t th
Eric- “You don’t understand, I need my coven with me.” Cordelia tried to reason. “Then bring them here, but unless you want another war on your hand, you will refrain from using your powers against my pack.” Tate’s Alpha voice came out, although it would hold no effect on Cordelia. Her eyes moved to Tate as she spoke but quickly returned to Brook. It was fleeting, but I recognized the fear in her eyes when Brook moved slightly. I knew Brook was special, because of who her father was, but why would a witch be afraid of her? It wasn’t like Brook was part witch or anything. Granted her bloodline was blessed by the Moon Goddess, granting her special abilities. Nothing magical as far as I knew though. Feeling like Brook was going to be a big use against the witches, I stepped closer to Brook. As if Cordelia knew something the rest of us didn’t, she stood down and lifted her hands in front of her. At first, I thought she was going to attack, but she
Leilani-Why did I feel so peaceful here? I was surrounded by a field of purple flowers. There were some flowers I recognized, others I did not. One of the flowers I recognized were lilacs, which were my favorite flower. It seemed as if all my worries have just faded from me completely. If anything, I felt like I was whole. Other than this nagging feeling I had in the back of my mind that told me I didn’t belong here.Ignoring that, I walked through the rows of flowers, occasionally bending over to smell them. Every flower I came across looked beautiful and healthy, as if they have been well cared for. I was careful not to step on one.“Leilani.” I heard someone call my name, but when I looked around, I didn’t see anyone.Shrugging my shoulders, I continued my adventure through the flowers. When I came across a flower that didn’t seem right, I stopped walking. There was something strange about it.Other than the
Eric-I felt defeated right now. Seeing Leilani’s limp body like this, I felt like I haven’t been protecting her as a mate should. If I had been, I would have been able to protect her before she ended up like this.Turning her hand in mine, I was just about to place my other hand on her palm, when I noticed something that hadn’t been there before. Across the center of her palm, there was a burn mark. Straightening my back, I moved to lift her other hand. She had the same mark on her other hand. I called the warriors back in, needing to find out if something happened to her in the time I was gone. When neither of them knew where the burn marks came from, I wondered if it was the witch that did this to her.Lifting her in my arms, I carried her downstairs, back to my office. I didn’t figure Tate nor Brook would be here, but I didn’t expect them to both come running in as soon as I placed Leilani on the couch.“What
Leilani-Over the next three days, I have been scouring the area, trying to find a way to wake up. I have watched Eric go through a mixture of emotions, from crying to anger. The witches have made zero progress in finding out what was going on with me.Even I was beginning to lose hope. I haven’t gone to see my wolf again since the last time because I was trying to honor her request to stay away. However, the more time I was here, with no idea how to get out, I wondered if I shouldn’t go see her. That black flower kept drawing me in, even though I felt like I shouldn’t mess with it, I was beginning to wonder if that was my way out. Currently, I was back in the field, because it was the only place I could find a sense of peace. There were two other areas I have yet to venture into since they both looked worse than where Violet was. Each time I made my way to either area, I immediately turned around. I looked to the north, wondering if I s
Eric-Leilani visibly relaxed, but then her body began to feel hot. She was breathing hard, so I wondered what else was going on. I hated that I couldn’t see what she was doing, or where she was at.“Are you sure you want us to send you to her? I must warn you, I cannot guarantee that you will end up in the same place as her. We have never sent another species to that place. We will send you, but it might be for nothing. If we send you to a place we cannot reach you, we may not be able to bring you back.” I heard Cordelia say, but my attention remained on Leilani. It wasn’t even a question as far as I was concerned. It was a risk I was willing to take. If there was a way for me to help her, I was going to do everything I could.“How long will it take?” I asked. My hand reached over to brush Leilani’s hair from her face, which was matted to her skin from the blood. She looked like she has been beaten only minutes from her life, yet she seemed more at peace now than she had been. When t
Eric-Over the next two days, Kellan gave us a rundown of what he knew about the witches. It wasn’t much, so it didn’t really help me with anything. It did however inform a lot of the pack about what to expect. What he has told us, was stuff I had already figured out. One is that they were selfish witches that wouldn’t do anything unless it benefited them. Okay, that wasn’t what he said, but he might have well said it.They were taking their sweet time preparing to send me to my mate. They told me that they found out that my blood bonded with Leilani’s instantly, so I didn’t understand why it was taking so long. Luckily nothing more has happened to her since the last time, but for how long?Time was of the essence, and we all knew it. The longer we waited, the greater the chance was that she would be in danger again. I was getting antsy, which my brother kept reminding me about, but I didn’t care.Brook was probably the only one I could tolerate being around right now since she was th
Leilani- Sitting in the room with Brook, even though she couldn’t see me, I wiped at the tears that fell freely from my face. I hadn’t been here in time to watch her give birth, but I had heard the clatter in the hallway. After finding out what was going on, I saw Tate and Eric leaving the room talking about how beautiful the baby was. Out of curiosity, I had moved into the room behind them, wanting to see for myself. I wasn’t sure how long I was sitting here, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave. Watching Brook with her daughter made me wonder if my own mother had been happy about my birth. I didn’t think she had since I had been abandoned at a young age. There was always a part of me that wondered if even for a second my mother loved me. I could see the love Brook had for her daughter as she held her. Seeing this side of Brook, maybe I had been too quick to judge her. She wasn’t like the Luna’s I have grown up knowing. Not to mention I have seen the way she acted when she didn’t
Eric- When I landed on solid ground, I wasn’t sure where I was. It seemed as if I was near some sort of volcano that was about to erupt, based on the low rumble I was hearing. Looking up to the sky, I saw a large dragon, which I was sure didn’t belong here. A blood-curdling scream, calling my name, caught my attention. When I looked over at the source, I saw Leilani laying on the ground. I was yards away, so there was no way I could reach her in human form. Without hesitation, I shifted into Desmond, while I hoped we wouldn’t be too late to get to her. I kept my attention on the Dragon, while I trusted my wolf to run to our mate. The ball of fire that the Dragon released was moving towards her at frightening speeds. Knowing I couldn’t lift her in wolf form, at the last second, Desmond gave me back control. With not a second to spare, I lifted her into my arms and ran as fast as my legs would move. I felt the blast hit the ground, as it propelled me forward, while still holding Leil
