VENUS

“You’re so comfortable,” I mumbled, snuggling deeper against him.

“Don’t get used to it,” came his grumpy voice, rumbling beneath my ear.

Too late for that, Aaron Sinclair.

Somehow, we’d ended up sprawled on the couch—me half-draped over him, limbs tangled, his shirt thoroughly drenched with my tears.

If you’d told me a few months ago that I’d be baring my heart to Aaron Sinclair, and he’d actually comfort me, I would’ve laughed in your face.

But here we were.

And who knew? The cold, ruthless Aaron Sinclair could be gentle—his kind of gentle, at least. He sat stiff as a board, but he let me use him as emotional support. Unconventional, sure. But it worked.

I sniffled. “Why were you so mean to me when I started working as your PA?”

He glanced down at me. “That’s what you want to talk about?”

I tilted my chin up, wobbling voice and all. “I’m the emotionally distraught one here, and that’s what I want to talk about.”

He groaned under his breath. “I hate Richard. He hired you.”

He s

  • Contract Marriage With My Billionaire Boss    Chapter 61

VENUSThe next day, we drove toward the wealthier end of New York City—the kind of neighborhood that whispered old money and high gates. It was a private community, the kind where names mattered more than numbers, and silence was stitched into the lawns. When we finally pulled up to the house, I had to blink twice. It was massive. A sprawling driveway curled like a ribbon across the estate, leading to a fountain and a collection of luxury cars that looked like they’d never seen a red light."You grew up here?" I asked, wide-eyed.“Most of the time, yeah.”“It’s beautiful.”“My mom keeps it alive.”We reached the front doors—towering, regal, and carved with patterns that probably had a story behind them. Even from the outside, the house pulsed with elegance. I hadn't stepped inside, and yet it already felt like a museum wrapped in warmth.A maid answered the door, but she didn’t even get a full greeting out before—“Ronny!”A little girl came flying through the glass doors, arms flung

VENUSStanding behind me was the Rosemary Carter—Aaron Sinclair’s birth mother."You didn’t tell me you were back. We spoke just yesterday,” he said, rising to his feet. Her smile was soft, voice softer. “I thought I’d surprise you.”I stood too, instinctively taking my place beside Aaron.“Mom,” he said, one arm gently guiding me closer, “this is Venus. My wife.”He turned to me. “Venus, my mom—Rosemary Carter.”I’d expected... more. She was elegant, yes—but not the intimidating kind. Her posture was easy, her aura warm. Stunning without trying, and not at all the fragile woman people had whispered about. Why the hell were they calling her sick?“Good evening, ma’am,” I said, offering my hand. Sue me—I panicked. She ignored it and pulled me into a hug. “Ma’am? Do I look that old?”I blinked, startled—then laughed, a little breathless. “Sorry. Habit.”“You’re beautiful,” she said warmly.“Thank you,” I murmured, cheeks heating.“Call me Rose. Makes me feel young again.”“You’re not ev

VENUSThis gala was otherworldly. It screamed wealth in a way that bordered on obscene—even for someone used to standing beside Aaron Sinclair. I’d been to my fair share of high-society events with him, but nothing quite like this. The chandeliers glittered like a thousand stars trapped in crystal cages, and the music thrummed through marble walls—haunting, elegant, and impossible to ignore.Of course, I had the glam team work their magic on me. They always did. Tonight’s look? Flawless. Hair swept into an intricate updo, red lips that could command kingdoms, and a gown that clung to me like a whispered secret. And for once, even Aaron noticed.“You look... good,” he’d said. Practically Shakespeare, coming from him.But just when I thought the night might glide by smoothly, fate decided to stir the pot.Dorian was here.I spotted him early—his piercing gaze finding me through the crowd like a predator clocking prey. He didn’t approach. He didn’t have to. He just stood there, drink in

VENUSI didn’t go back to the office immediately. And I knew. Knew I was going to get another scolding from Aaron for it. Yeah. Right.I’d come back. Just... not yet.I needed the air.My head was a mess—yesterday with Mom kept playing on an endless loop. Her face. Her voice. The way helplessness had wrapped around my throat and squeezed until I could barely breathe. What do I do next? How do I save her?I couldn’t abandon her. I couldn’t. But the cold truth was—I didn’t have a plan. Not yet.I let my feet wander, my mind numb. The hum of New York blurred around me—cars honking, voices shouting, the sharp clang of life moving too fast. My legs just carried me forward like they had a will of their own, until they started to ache. Finally, I sighed, pulled out my phone to hail a cab—And that’s when I saw him.Connor.Across the street, tucked into the corner booth of a sleek little restaurant. No one else would’ve noticed him—not unless they’d memorized his every angle.I had.Of cour

VENUSI woke from the most pleasant sleep I’d had in ages and guess what?Bam—it was Monday.Aaron wasn’t there when I opened my eyes. Not surprising. The man was probably halfway through conquering the world already. I stretched, yawned, and forced myself out of the cocoon of warmth I’d melted into overnight.Upstairs, I freshened up and got dressed. Simple blouse, pencil skirt, hair pulled back tight. If I was going to face him in full CEO mode, I needed armor. When I came downstairs, the scent hit me first—coffee. Rich, dark, glorious.Exactly what I needed.I wandered into the kitchen and blinked. Aaron stood at the stove, already dressed in one of his tailored suits… with an apron tied over it.Wow.“Good morning,” I greeted, sliding onto a stool by the counter. He glanced over. “Sleep well?”“Yes.” I smiled as he placed a cup of coffee in front of me.“Good.” He gave a single nod. “Because today you go back to work. No slacking.”Back to being an ass, I see.“Sir, yes sir.” I mo
