Abigail's POV.

Stepping into the dungeon was almost like taking a risk but I would rather take that instead of sitting here and hoping that the information I so much desired will be dumped on my lap.

I had more than enough reason to be a little worried but I refused to give myself to that. Instead I faced my man head on, our eyes locking into a staring match.

"What are you doing here Abigail?"

"Has she come to see the people who have arrived to destroy her peace? She probably doesn't understand anything going on in this place and that's why she believes that you are one of the best people to ever walk on earth. She has to realize the things that you have dumped behind her back and she would get disappointed just as she should have been in the beginning and run away from you!" Edward yelled as soon as he heard her voice.

While I didn't think it was his fault, at the same time, I didn't want anything that was going to disturb me because as far as I was concerned, I had only one job

Abigail's POV. My instincts snapped immediately when I heard those words. No one wanted to hear stuff like that especially in times like this when we were still having a hard time bringing up more evidence against Christopher. If he was no longer present then who would have led the rebellion? It had to be somebody who was ready for whatever this was going to take. It didn't make any sense for us to jump head first into any battle without knowing our left from our right."We shouldn't go out there when we do not have the full story. I'm not willing to be responsible for anybody's actions or inactions except they are willing to do the work. I have wasted so much time and I think it is high time I put a stop to it. I'm tired of looking all over my shoulder." I told Asher just immediately as we were about to step out. He grabbed my hand and drew me closer, snuggling my face into a corner of his chest. "We are going to go out there and present a United front and crush whatever is abou

Abigail's POV. I waited earnestly for his response and I couldn't be more proud of myself when he went completely silent, not coming up with any answers. My mind was focused on getting every scoop of the gist that I could find without leaving any stone unturned. It was an unusual way of handling things but I was willing to be patient as long as I could end up getting a worthy response. I kind of already figured out that I was not going to get the answers that I wanted so it was a probability that I toyed with, however I didn't want it to be true no matter how much it was. "I've got only one idea right now and that consists of us having a newly found relationship that wouldn't crack under pressure." Asher's gaze crackled under the depression of my gaze and I couldn't be more proud of myself than I was making a grown man begin to consider his words because they were either about to break or make our relationship and I honestly wanted us to be on the same page no matter what. "I'm

Abigail's POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Asher told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perceptions about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous, my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little somet

Asher's POV.I made a u-turn just after I got to the pack gates. I should have caught these guys unaware. It wasn't going to be easy, but I kind of figured out that staying away also wasn't going to help matters; instead, it was going to be the worst thing in the case and make it even harder for me to dispel all of Abigail's fears. She had every right to panic, and I was not even trying to gaslight her into thinking that she was doing too much; however, I believed that she should have given me the benefit of the doubt, and then we would move on from that. Distinction of their bodies filled the air, as I moved on, refusing to allow myself to be enveloped by them. This hadn't even scratched the surface as I began to move into the dungeons, loving the fact that I could smell fear. It was bewildering that the disguise thought they could come to my turf and try to intimidate me without knowing that I always had the right to do whatever it is I wanted to do without thinking twice. "We

Abigail's POV.The only limiting factor to the man in front of me was the fact that he found it hard to come clean and explain everything that had been going on, and would rather die than let it all out At first, I wanted to get mad at him, but later I figured out that I would also panic if I were in the same situation; therefore, I needed to cut him some slack and instead find a way of making him realize that I was there for him and not against him. I went into the kitchen and prepped some mean bacon that would have even the worst person reeling in shock at my prowess. It wasn't going to be easy, that I could tell, but at the same time, I intended to make him feel very elated about it. I had just one agenda, which was to make him forget his momentary sorrow. Twenty minutes later, after laborious cooking and sweating, Asher descended the stairs, looking perplexed that I was able to whip up something so fast, and to my benefit, I loved how his eyes lit up immediately when he spott

  • Contract with Alpha Asher   Chapter 36

Asher's POV.I headed to the gym, deciding to sweat it all out. My head was consumed with various thoughts that threatened to consume my very existence. Most of the things that I had thought about had ended coming to reality in my very eyes Now Abigail was already suspicious and I was obligated to tell her the truth or else she would never believe me no matter what I said. I had every right to be worried but I decided to take a deep breath and just watch things play out, telling myself that it wasn't worth it and I needed to calm down before doing anything that was going to implicate me. My eyes were fixated on what was more important which included ensuring Abigail's safety over mine. How was I supposed to confess to anyone that I had been involved in an underground fight, killing people and leaving them devastated while posing as one of the best alphas to ever grace the earth?I felt Daniel's presence but refused to turn, he was going to try to make me talk and that would land m

Abigail's POV. Asher lay beside me with his eyes completely closed off, but his shoulder blades still tightened as he looked around, hoping that he was able to get away with this scenario without having to look over his shoulder. I decided to wait until he was out in whatever state he found himself in before I confronted him about the obvious situation right now. "We've got to go to the dungeon together. Daniel called." I declared immediately after I saw his eyes pop open. I had various ideas running through my mind, but there was only one that remained at the forefront, kind of including me setting my foot down and then having this discussion that he desperately wanted to avoid. If there was a better way for me to fix this, I would have done it a long time ago but here I was with no idea besides taking his words were it and hoping that his friend would be able to supply me with some information even though I knew it was not going to happen anytime soon. Asher stared

  • Contract with Alpha Asher   Chapter 34

Asher's POV. I stopped moving as soon as those men mentioned my name. My past had come knocking on my door and came the wrong way. How was I ever supposed to know that one of these days they would show up? I ignored Abigail who was staring at me, her eyes shining in curiosity as she watched me, hoping that I told her what exactly was happening but I was even two ashamed of my past to make such a move. That was going to leave me bare and that was a lot of risk which I was not willing to take at the moment. The only thing I wanted to do right now is to make sure that everything is going on fine. "So what? You came here after hearing that Christopher has been defeated." I deflected, acting as though I didn't have an idea of why they came. Finn, popularly called 'Death harbinger.' stared at me, his eyes completely focused on mine as we locked gazes. "Alpha Asher. It is with great joy that we are able to see you in one piece. It's been a long time since we spoke and we have missed
