GODFATHER'S POV

My eyes darted across the room, but I was more fixated on the huge mahogany table where the food was placed. The huge mahogany table was one that always caught my fancy. Crafted from fine mahogany wood, the table surface smooth, polished, and reflecting light showcased its beauty of sturdy, sleek design.

I was here again, alpha Gritus den. The room was filled with eerie silence—a silence likened to the silence of the unknown. The silence was broken by the often clink of silver ware against china ware. I stood opposite godfather as he savored and ate with graceful poise.

The way he ate was measured with precision, with each cut of the meat the same as the last. His movements were deliberate and controlled just like a robot. He ate just like a predator patiently stalking its prey.
