Lily's POV
A woman walked down the stairs to meet us, her eyes were on me the whole time and she had a clear look of disgust on her face. I unconsciously looked at my body, I was wearing a short and slightly revealing gown. Its full length stopped just a few centimeters after my ass and a deep v at the front that exposed the sides of my breasts. It was my typical work outfit so I didn't think it was that bad. Do I really look like a beggar?“Who is this, William? You cannot just bring any random person from god knows where into the house, what if people saw you?” the woman spoke up again. She was taller than me and had some resemblance to William so I guessed she was his sister. Apart from that, there was something familiar about her that I couldn't quite put a hand on at the moment.William had a straight face and didn't look moved at all, instead he cleared his throat and said loudly, “Can I have everyone's attention please, I have an announcement to make?” The woman rolled her eyes at her brother and sent me a death glare.I breathed out and clutched August's hand to calm my nerves. From the attitude of the woman I could tell that staying here wasn't going to be easy but as long as it was for my son, I was willing to bear anything. One by one, the remaining members of the family trooped out. There was an old fragile woman in a wheelchair, another young woman, two girls who looked like they were around age 5 and 7, and a man. It was a full house, their eyes bored into me and August like we were some sort of aliens with two heads. I had to direct my gaze to the ground as if there was something very intriguing about it.“Where’s Damien?” I heard William ask.“He is not around, he traveled for some business” the other woman said in a timid voice.“Oh well, Everyone, this is Lily and her son August. Lily, this is Arla, my only sister, Damien, my younger brother, is not home. This is Sarah, his wife, and these two girls are Kylie and Jenner, Arla's children. This man here is Toby, Arla's husband. My mother Evelyn is the one on the wheelchair” William introduced everyone to me while the others only stared, the two girls attempted to send a friendly wave over when their name was called but with one look from Arla, they refrained.Well, this is very welcoming. I could feel the love already.“William, what is going on? Who is she?” Arla resumed her questioning again with her hands on her hips.William paused for a second, meeting everyone's eyes before walking closer to stand by my side, his placed his hand on my waist and maintained a steady gaze with me before saying, “Lily is my fiance and the mother of my unborn child, we are getting married in a few days so I hope you all can treat her well as part of the family” then he leaned and kissed me.There was a deafening silence that followed. Everybody was shocked, I included. Was there any need to be that dramatic and why were butterflies running wild in my stomach from such a simple kiss?“Oh no! Hell no!” Arla finally found her voice and said.“Whether you agree or not is none of my business, you are free to attend the wedding or not” William jaw ticked as he spoke to them but his eyes were trained on his sister.“William, Have you gone insane?! You want to ruin the image of this family and cause a scandal by marrying this girl who looks like someone who lives in a club?” Arla loudly challenged.Well, I was a stripper but the way she said it made me feel a bit offended.William doesn't reply to her, instead he turns to Sarah and says, “Please show Lily her room, she will be staying with her son. Give her the spare room close to mine” he instructed then he turned to me and said, “I will be right back”I nodded in understanding and watched him walk away, the atmosphere became awkward with the fuming Arla in it. Sarah walked forward quietly and offered a small shy smile before saying, “Come on, let me show you to your room”I muttered an ‘okay’ and turned to leave with her when I heard Arla shout, “stop right there!”With a few steps she came to stand in front of me, her eyes were wide as saucers and it was burning with rage. She raised her hand and pointed at me, “Look, I don't know the nasty hole my brother picked you from but I'm not going to let your low class self ruin my name that I had managed to build for years. That thing is your belly, how much do you need to get rid of it huh? Tell me because my brother is so desperate for an heir that he would basically take anything, I won't sit and watch him ruin his name, I will pay you triple the money so you can get rid of it and disappear from our lives forever… So tell me!!!” she demanded furiously with pride.I raised my head to look at her in the eyes, I may be poor but I still had my dignity, I won't tolerate her looking at me so lowly, “No, thank you. I am not interested. I will not abort my child” I replied with a firm tone so she knows I meant every word.My words seemed to tick her off even more, her nostrils flared and she leaned closer to me before saying in an audible whisper.“Then I promise to make your life here as miserable as possible so that you will beg to leave. Welcome to your hell”CHAPTER FIFTY-THREEDamien’s POVI love when I set out to do one evil deed and a free opportunity to do more presents itself. I came today with no plan; all I wanted was to disturb Will’s peace a little, remind him I am still alive, and maybe remind Aria that she said she would help me inherit the company. But then heaven blessed me, and I found August outside. The boy had run to me, calling me daddy. I watched in amusement as he hugged my legs, giggling, then looked up and frowned.“You are not my daddy,” he said, puzzled.“No, I am not,” I replied with a sly smile.August giggled again. “But you look so much like him. I thought you were him.”“No,” I said, shaking my head. “But,” I continued “We are brothers.”I was amused that Lily’s son called Will's father. Lily sure knows how to make people take responsibility for things they did and did not do, just like she made me pay for... our incident. Now, she has Will playing daddy for August and her so-called unborn child, whom we are
CHAPTER FIFTY-TWOLily’s POVWill and I had successfully avoided work for an entire week, and Aria had been planning creative ways to kill me. But with Will always on my mind, I found it hard to care. Will thought I didn’t know what he was doing when he ‘accidentally’ locked my room door and lost the key, or when the maid ‘mistakenly’ dropped my laundry in his room. I didn’t say anything about it. I liked it. I liked to pretend I wanted my room, but if Will ever asked me to go to my room, I would die. Literally, I would fall and die.It was 10:32 AM on a Sunday, and August was free today. Will had his therapy session canceled so we could all go out as a family.I gently disentangled myself from Will’s body and quietly climbed down from the bed. I threw on one of Will’s shirts because I was too lazy to go to my room or find my clothes in his second drawer.Tying my hair into a messy bun, I walked out of the room to spend a little time with August alone, something that was hardly possib
CHAPTER FIFTY-ONEWill’s POVI don’t blame Aria for hating Lily. She is right. Lily is good for me.Should I be dressed and ready to go to work? Yes.Do I need to go to work? Yes.Am I dressed and ready to go to work? No.Will I go? Hell no!I had called Toby again to tell him I wasn't going to make it to work. My excuse? I’m sick. Was I sick? No, but I would be if I didn’t taste Lily one more time. Lily had excused herself to go back to her room to get dressed. I’ll have to get her things brought here, or if she likes her room so much, I can move to it. It doesn’t matter, but all this separate room nonsense is not going to work.“You’re not dressed?” Lily asked, barging into my room to pick up clothes she left in my bedroom.“No,” I said, grinning.“What?” She asked, stopping to look at me. “Why are you staring at me like that?”“I like the way you entered my room like it’s yours.”Nothing can replace the pleasure of seeing Lily blush as she quickly disappeared into the bathroom to p
CHAPTER FIFTYLily POVIt was Monday morning, and I woke up to small kisses being trailed along my neck. I groaned and sank deeper into the feel of Will.It is Monday morning and after what could only be described as the best weekend in history, I do not want to wake up let alone go to work.“Open your eyes, Lily,” Will growled. “I know you are awake.”I did not open my eyes. I did not want to open my eyes. Maybe if I keep my eyes closed long enough, I would be able to keep him here in bed with me throughout the day.“Can we not just stay?” I groaned.“Of course we can, we can stay as long as you want but that would only give Aria more reasons to hate you and make the papara—Will didn’t get any other words out as I brought my lips to his kissing him gently. Will sighed into the kiss and wrapped his arms around my back and my neck drawing me deeper in. God, I’d missed this—it had only been hours, but I missed it already. I missed feeling like we were both going to lose it if we did no
Damien’s POV“You foolish man, I thought getting drunk was my thing,” Lyon said. He had been scolding me and telling me things I did not care for.He is right though, getting excessively drunk is his thing, not mine. He was leading me to the car so we could go home I suppose.“I do not want to go home.” I slur.“I am sure. Your wife will kill you if you go home like this.” Lyon said and laughed loudly. “I thought you said you were a changed man? Change my ass man.”“Oh shut the fuck up.”Lyon laughed again and retrieved the car key from my pocket.“shit.” He cursed. “You have to stand on your own, wait while I go get the key, I think you left it on the table we used.”Immediately Lyon left me I fell flat on my butt drawing unwanted attention and Lyon's unwarranted laugh. He left me there struggling with no success to get back on my feet. He came back a minute later with the key. “Remind me to never let you drink this much ever again,” he said helping me into the car.“Fuckkk-you,” I sa
Lily's POVOne day, I would rip out my heart and throw it away. It had made it its life mission to always embarrass me when it came to William Carter. I couldn't even pretend to act cool and composed around him, especially when I was this close to him. The only thing giving me comfort was the fact that our heartbeats were synchronized, and I could hear his heart too.He was sniffing my neck, nuzzling his nose against it, and gently running his hand from my neck to my waist consistently. I wondered why. Before, when he was just a client, he would quickly go straight to the point. He made sure I was comfortable first, yes, but there was hardly any cuddling or sniffing.“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this,” he said.“Sniff me?” I had long ditched the thought that I would have any composure or class when it came to Will. My voice sounded like I was struggling to breathe, let alone talk, and that couldn’t be closer to the truth. Will chuckled. His voice was low, lower than us
