Olivia

The following week, I saw little of Leonardo in the mansion but everytime he was home for supper or breakfast, we were cordial and he asked about the baby and if I needed anything.

“How are things with Leonardo?” Zera asked over the phone.

“They're fine. Why are you asking?”

The last time I had spoken to Zera was before the wedding was cancelled and she was to be back in a few days.

“I might see you soon.” She said,

“When are you coming back? I could use some company, Rosa

  • Contracted to the Mafia Boss Leonardo De Luca   Chapter 73 Not the Wine Type

Olivia A half an hour passed and Leo's mother was nowhere to be seen. I ordered entrées and a glass of red wine just to have something in front of me. I kept on scanning the restaurant and my phone hoping that she had left something for me but nothing. There was no text, no missed call. As the minutes ticked by, it became clear that she was not coming. A wave of disappointment washed over me, leaving me feeling deflated. I had been counting on this meeting, hoping to get some answers about Leonardo and maybe, just maybe, find a way to move forward. I felt a lump form in my throat, and I swallowed hard. Not only that, I wanted to cry but not here, not now. I tried to shake off the feeling by taking a deep breath and a long sip from my drink...when I felt a presence beside me. I looked up, and there he was – Leonardo, standing beside the table next to me, his eyes boring into mine. My heart sank, but I tried to keep it together. “Leonardo," I said, my voice neutral. He smiled, t

  • Contracted to the Mafia Boss Leonardo De Luca   Chapter 72 A sense of Determination

Olivia After I changed my direction, my feet took me towards the phone in the kitchen. I needed to talk to someone, although Mrs. De Luca was not my best bet, I dialed her number anyway, my fingers trembling slightly as I waited for her to answer. "This is the De Luca residence, how can I help?" a warm voice said. "It's Olivia, can I please speak to Mrs De Luca?" I replied, trying to sound calm. "Mrs De Luca is not in at the moment. Can I take your message?" The housekeeper ask smoothly. "I was wondering if I could meet with her tomorrow. It's Olivia, if she could get back to me." I said hating myself for sounding like an automated bolt. There was a pause, and for a moment, I thought the housekeeper had hung up on me. "Of course, dear, I will let her know," she said finally. I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Thank you, I'll be waiting." I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. It was time to take matters into my own hands. I made my way t

  • Contracted to the Mafia Boss Leonardo De Luca   Chapter 71 A Sense of Peace

Olivia A month had passed since Cici had said not to push leonardo about telling me where Cassie was but in that month, things hadn't gotten any easier in terms of communication instead they had become worse if I counted the times Leonardo was in the house. The funny thing about this whole scenario was that, people always said that as a mother you would know if your baby was in danger, now I might not have been a role model of a mother yet everytime I thought about Cassie I didn't get a heavy feeling, just peace and somehow that made me think that my baby was not in danger at all. Or maybe I was losing it. To clear my head , after a light supper alone again, I took a walk around the estate grounds. The sun was ready to set and from a distance the mansion was almost covered in shadows, except for the bright lights that were turning on one at a time. I stood at a distance under the canopy of the trees that stood at the edge of the garden and looked at the massive mandion. Ever

Leonardo I sat back in the car waiting to hear from Nikolai. Cici sat beside me. After the time I had with Melanie, I felt a sense of ease wash over me. I hadnt been this relaxed in a long time. The deal with the station commander to release our men was as good as a done deal. "So, what's the deal with the dealer?" CiCi asked, his voice low and smooth. I took a sip of my drink, feeling the whiskey burn down my throat. I always knew that there was a reson for having a bar fridge in the car and this was it. "Just a small problem. Cops got a bit too excited, but Nikolai is handling it." I explained to him. CiCi nodded, his eyes narrowing. "You dont seem worried about the cops suddenly sniffing around in our business. I thought we had a standing deal in place with the cops." "Everything has an expiry date brother." I said looking at the dark liquid in my glass. CiCi smirked into his glass before raising his eyes. ''Does your cool mood have anything to do with the lady in

Leonardo A month had passed since Melanie moved into the east wing in the mansion, although I hadn't seen her in all that time, Stanley kept me up to date about her daily activities. From Stanley reports I knew that Melanie was now only beginning to leave her room and venture into other rooms that were in her wing. The release of the new watch was well underway and both my mother and the board were off my back...for now until another chaos came along. After dinner, I found myself wandering into the east wing, as soon as I entered the front door I was drawn by the sound of Melanie's laughter. Following the sound, I knew that she was in the library. My pace quickened, and once I reached the library, I leaned against the door, watching her, she hadn't noticed my presence as she flipped through an old book. "You're enjoying the book?" I asked, my voice low. Melanie looked up, startled. "Yeah, it's...interesting...more interesting than my life at the moment." I walked in

Leonardo Melanie's eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, I thought she was gonna try and play dumb again. But the tremble in her voice gave her away."Leo, I...I didn't mean to take it," she stammered, her words tumbling out. "I was in a rush, and I packed everything that was in the safe. I didn't know the watch was also in there."I raised an eyebrow, my expression skeptical. "Rush, what were you running away from that you would be in such a hurry to leave without a goodbye?"She swallowed hard, her eyes darting around the room as though she was searching for an escape route. "Just...that you are married and I knew you wouldn't be able to save me from this."I leaned back in my chair, my gaze never leaving hers. "And how was that a surprise to you, we had our aggreement together?"I didn't feel like I needed to know the details of how she had found that out but my personal life had never been part of the deal. She shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "I didn't think it
