CONFRONTATION

Katie's Pov 

In no time, it was morning. I had had breakfast brought up to my room again. The cooks in the house really did a good job. I showered, and went downstairs, making my way to the library, where I met Jane. She told me Josiah had gone to work early. Avoiding me today again I see. I made my way to the garden, laid down on the grass, and began the book I had taken from the library. 

I looked up when I heard a car pull up into the drive way. It was him. I got up, walking towards the car.

"Are you avoiding me?", I accused him,

"I do not have the energy to", he did not bother looking at me,

"You could not even come out to see if I had settled in properly ", I kept my gaze on him,

"I can see now that you settled well enough to come disrupt my afternoon", he started walking into the house,

"Is this how you intend on treating me the next two years?", I trailed behind him,

He turned to face me, and I stopped in my tracks, "If you do not stay out of my way", and he proceeded upstairs. 

Running upstairs to my room, I shut the door, and flung myself on my bed. This time I did not hold back. I let the tears flow. It finally hit me. This was going to be my hell for the next two years. It felt like a nightmare. One I wanted to wake up from. 

Josiah's Pov 

I drove in from work, and notices Katie reading in the garden. None of my ex's were interested in books. I can't believe I'm comparing her to others already. Snap out of it man! She got up from where she was, making her way towards me, her face was not looking pleaded at all. Was this about not coming down for dinner last night? I'm sure that is what it is about,

"Are you avoiding me?", she blurted out when she came before me,

"I do not have the energy to", I answered without looking at her,

"You could not even come out to see if I had settled properly ", her eyes were piercing,

"I can see you have settled well enough to come disrupt my afternoon", I made my way into the house,

"Is this how you intend on treating me the next two years?", this woman was determined,

I turned to look at her. She had a soft, yet piercing gaze, 

"If you do not stay out of my way", her shoulders dropped,

I turned, proceeding to my room. After a while, I heard her footsteps, accompanied by the loud banging of her room door. I instantly felt bad. Poor thing didn't deserve that. She was right, I should have checked on her. Afterall she is a new member of the house.

 I lay down on my bed to rest a while, and drifted off into sleep.

It was dinner time. I made my way to the dinner table, and she wasn't there. I took my seat, calling out to Jane. 

"Yes Sir", she came forward, 

"Where is she?", I was looking at the empty chair at the table,

"She has been indoors since this afternoon,  and has refused to eat. She insists that she is not hungry", I could see the pity in her eyes as she spoke,

"Take my food up then. I would eat in my room", she bowed, and walked into the kitchen.

On getting to the door of my room, I turned, staring at her room door. What was she doing?, I thought. It was my fault she hasn't been down, and even refused dinner. I walked to her door, raising my hand to knock.. I should go in, and speak to her. Nah, she's a big girl, she'll be fine… I dropped my hand, and walked into my room
