Chapter # 78

Sir Laire was looking out from the balcony of his place with a grimace hovering over his stoic features, uncaring of what was happening.

He knew what they were thinking but his heart didn’t waver once, exhausted from emotions, none of it mattered to him anyways.

“Hmph. So they are now keeping me under surveillance.” He scoffed.

Folding his eyes to witness the break of the dawn with no emotions on his dead face.

“What are you going to do now? It’s a matter of time before they find out.”

A voice asked him from behind, standing in the shadows to conceal its identity.

“If that is how it is supposed to be then so be it.” He sighed.

Pinching the bridge of his nose when the glorious rays of sunlight emerged, dispersing in the sky.

“So you’re going to risk your life?” It asked, frowning at his stubbornness, refusing to leave.

“Why don’t you come back? You have stayed here, served this land enough.” It insisted, deep down knowing it’s futile to convince him.
