Ch. 34

CYRUS

“He wants to have a private meeting with you,” he said to me as I looked up at him.

“Private meeting with me? What do the elders want now? What is he planning?”

So I should not do this without a plan in mind. He must really have an ulterior motive, I thought to myself.

But seeing as I was very angry at him and I did not want to vent my anger out at anybody but him, this was the opportunity I needed. I immediately agreed to meet with him privately, ready to vent out all the pent-up anger that had been building inside me. I nodded at my beta, dismissing him immediately. He understood the message I had passed across to him as he walked out, leaving me standing inside Fiona's bedroom.

I glanced over at her.

“I couldn't help but suddenly feel so bad. I am so sorry for you now. I never wanted it to lead to this. I never really wanted to show you this side of me to make you think I don't have any conscience and this is how I act to my brother. But he has really pissed me off. He pissed me off for years and now he's doing it again, and I won't let him escape with this. I won't let him take you away from me and make your life a living hell. That is how he does, and I would not give him that chance,” I said in a very quiet tone, even though I knew she could not hear me.

I was already so fast asleep. I then picked up my coat from the sofa and left her room. I stood in the hallway, preparing myself for the kind of words I was about to unleash on Saus. If he says anything stupid, I'm going to make his life miserable. That is the promise I plan on keeping.

I then went straight to the garden just as agreed, and of course, he was already waiting there for me, his leg crossed, waiting like a king. He always saw himself as superior to others, never giving anybody a chance. He doesn't even allow for explanations, and now he comes here and expects me to just accept him and let him do whatever he wants.

I cleared my throat as he turned.

“I already saw you. I am waiting for you to take your seat and let's start discussing,” he said.

I couldn't help but groan and then make a light chuckle. “You will never change, right Sergius? You want to talk to me? You called for me, and now you're telling me you saw me and you wanted me to sit down. I think this meeting is not important to you, and I was so stupid to have thought it was and came out because of you,” I said, getting more and more pissed with each word I uttered.

I then turned around and was about to leave.

“Where do you think you're going exactly? Even your mind will not be at ease. We need to talk. Fiona has already given birth, and that is the most important thing. You know why I am here, yet you keep pushing everything away from me. She belongs to me, and you fucking know it,” he said.

I clenched my hand into a tight fist. He just would never change, huh? Ten years ago he did the same thing. Seven years ago he did the same thing, and now he's doing it again. This time around, I won't let him get away with it.

I turned and, without even being able to control myself, gave him a heavy punch on the face. He fell to the ground out of shock and looked at me in so much surprise while he held his cheek, slowly letting go as he stood up upright, adjusting himself.

“What did you just do?” he shouted and was about to attack.

“Don't you dare!” I replied. “I have been holding this punch for years, waiting for the day I would meet you so you would be able to get this fucking punch. You deserve everything you're passing through. Your ego and your pride are the reasons why the Moon Goddess has decided to abandon you. And you won't come here and steal my happiness from me and expect me to just leave you to do what you want. No. You will not get away with it, and I will not let you. Even if you try your best, you still won't get her. Why don't you understand? She does not want to be with you. Why do you decide to be stupid and never understand what she wants? That is the reason why she can never love you,” I said.

Then he rushed towards me, grabbing my collar.

“No. You will not utter those kinds of words in my presence. I want to hear it from Fiona directly. I want her to tell me she does not love me,” he hissed, then pushed me away.

Of course, he was still surprised I was actually making the first moves against him this time around. Not like years ago, when he could play me around like a football. This time, it’s either he goes back to his pack and acts like a king or stays here and accepts all my humiliation.

“You think I did not know you guys met in secret? Huh? She already told you her mind. I don't know why you are still forcing this situation. I don't know why you're forcing this thing. It won't happen. She doesn't even want to see you. She's scared of what you would do. Let her go. Please,” I said to him.

I was about to leave when his words again stopped me.

“She doesn't love me. Huh? She doesn't love you either, and you are just wasting your time. I guess you felt so lonely after all these years. You couldn't find your mates, you couldn't fall in love. You are stuck in this time loop, and you don't even see it yourself. Because I am happy. You want to take it away from me. Yes, I am hot-headed, and I make mistakes sometimes. But you can't use my mistakes against me. I want Fiona. Please give her to me,” he said, his tone of voice suddenly changing.

I felt frustrated, not knowing how to respond to him. Should I even feel pity for my brother? I swallowed back that gut and instead responded to him without even turning.

“No, I will not, do your worst.”
