Raven POV
Finally. I exhaled. Senior year was here. In two days technically. Today was public service day. A long lasting ritual in Everfrost University. A day where the senior year students would engage in public services in different parts of campus. The faculty hallway raked with students. Boys. Girls. Bustling up and down with wide grins on their faces. I inhaled. Taking in the familiar air of Everfrost’s hallway. Everfrost wasn't just any university. It was the most prestigious and luxurious one in Frostfang pack. And second most rated one in the entire continent, topped only by Blue-Ridge University. Everyone wanted to school here. Well not everyone entirely—I only came here because of a stupid crush. “I’m so happy to be back,” my best friend, Lyra beamed, tiptoeing gently beside me. “Senior years definitely going to be a banger.” “Ofcourse it would,” I said. My voice carrying my deep excitement of being back to school. “You just came back from a month of sex filled vacation.” I teased. Lyra chuckled. A sweet confirmation of what I just said. Lyra and her boyfriend Damian, had spent their entire holiday on a vacation. A sex oriented one at that. And I was sure of that because she would streak me pictures of her in either bikinis or straight up underwears. “How's Jett? How was the holiday for you two.” Lyra asked. Jett. The name nagged my stomach like I'd swallowed a hammer. “It was okay,” I lied. Jett, my closest male friend, my secret alpha crush since I was fourteen. I'd been close to him seven years now. Ever since he lost his mother to cancer. He'd cry on my shoulders for as long I could think of. Either when he missed his mom or when he was sad from a breakup. I'd be there for him. Play with him. Hike with him. Rumble with him. Lyra's voice dragged me back to reality. “Are you sure it was okay? Rav,” “Yes sure,” I lied again. It wasn't okay. Jett and I had texted last three weeks ago. He has either been out playing student president role, which he considered as preparation to him being the alpha of Frostfang Pack after his dad. Or busy with his dating shenanigans with one hot student in cheer team or the other. And the worst part? He'd streak every moment of him with them. He didn't even consider my feelings. Hell he didn't even seem to notice if I had one. I'd come to Everfrost just because of my crush for him. And since freshman year, he'd only been obsessing over one girl or the other. And this time around it was Sharon—the extravagant cheerleader. What a wishful delusional fool I was. Lyra coughed. Dragging me back from my thoughts once again. “You know...you winning Journalist of the year award end of junior year, one would think your lying skill would have improved..” “But nope, it just got worse.” “Don't tell me people do train to lie.” “Nope no sane person does,” Lyra chuckled. “But what you my friend did not do was tell Jett about your crush on him.” She said. Staring at me with those I'm-I-lying? eyes. “Nope I didn't.” My voice sounded raw under the frustration tugging inside my stomach. I wanted to tell Jett. To open up to him. Tell him how I've been crushing on him ever since we met for the first day. But i knew he wasn't ready for something committed. And I wasn't interested in being one of his come and go flings. So I didn't. “You know what?” Lyra said. Her hands placed on her jaw. A posture she'd take whenever she was about to come up with something absolutely ridiculous to do. “You're going to meet with Jett today, and you're going to tell him everything.” “Hell No.” I yelled. My voice causing a few close students to drag their gazes to Lyra and I for some brief seconds. But I didn't care. I wasn't going to throw myself to guy who I bet didn't even noticed if we hadn't texted in three weeks. That would make me desperate. Lyra rolled her eye. “Well, you do want you want Rav.” She blurted, her voice laced with the disappointment. Not the bad disappointment. The type of disappointment you get when the only person you want to see have a love affair in her life can't open up to a guy. “Just get yourself a lover, babe.” I smiled with a little nod. Lyra was fun one between us. And by fun, I mean full steamy kind of fun. The kind of fun that she'd hit a one night stand with a total stranger just to spite her boyfriend. “See ya later,” I say to her. While we did our special fist bump shake. “I have to go do my share of public service.” “Text me when you're done.” She said, heading off. I turned. Slamming my earpiece to my ear. Fingers hovering around my favorite spotify playlist. I clicked on of my favorites, Ordinary by Alex Warren. Pushing the slightly ajar door with my legs. The air inside the male athletes dressing room was clean. A proof that no one's been here for a long time. I shouldn't even be here. But that's what you get when you come late for public service day. Every other places and chores were already taken. And I was left with cleaning the male athletes dressing room. But the on the positive side. It wasn't resumption yet. So boys weren't swamped in here. I picked up the mop and bucket. Sliding open the one of the bathroom curtains. And that's when I saw it. Him. Naked. Completely. Muscular. The hot shower glided through his back. The steam evaporating off him like thunder would at thor. Fuck he is smoking hot. I could already feel the heat crawling up my body. My eyes ran through him in sync with the water dripping down his body. His was tall. Six ft, three athletic type of tall. His legs where trained, built. The kind of built you'd get if you'd hit the gym three hours everyday for the past God knows how long. His ass. Fuck—I never believed I'd hear myself say such—was beautiful. Sexy. Soft. My gaze tailored upward. His back was covered in fine tattoo that extended to his shoulders. I've never seen such detailed and clean tattoo on a guy. Most of the dudes at Everfrost had rough tattoos that'd turn you off instantly. But his was different. I stared a little longer. Allowing my eyes to take in the details of the tattoo. And it did. Something about the design of the two naked ladies clinging around a guy he had drawn at his back sent warmth between my thighs. Fuck. Who the fuck was this? I let go of the mop in my hand unintentionally. He turned. Swiftly. And my jaw followed. Dropping to the floor. My vision seemed to blur. Leaving only one part of him clear. His dick. Dangling. I swallowed. It was long. Big. Fuck. It was carved intricately like sculpture. Veins warped around it. Pulsing. I squeezed my legs. My panties felt damp. Geez, I was already wet. I looked up. Trying to distract myself from what I just saw. But his face didn't make the case better. Sharp jawline and high cheekbones that'd make you think he was young Henry Cavill. His mouth moved. Mumbling something I couldn't hear over the earpiece in my ear. And that was when it all settled in. My expression fading from surprise to shock immediately I recognized him.Raven POV The ride back from Jace's place is faster than I want it to be. I've been thinking about him every second since I left his place. The smell of him. The way the rise and fall of his chest revealed subtle muscle striations just beneath the surface of his skin. Oh moon goddess, the urge to feel his bare skin. As the campus looms closer, I drive into a petrol station. Filling up the tank. Not because I'm the sweetest friend in the universe—which I am. But because of Jace Frickin Grimviel.I want more time to think of him. I want more time to devour every unholy thoughts wrapping inside my head. Although, I was quick to not let Ethan think anything of what he thought he saw—not like we did anything—but the more I think about what Ethan's sinful thoughts might be, the more every inch of me wants to experience those thoughts—as sinful as they can get.I drive into the campus. Taking the left street that leads to my dorm. Half focused on both the road in front of me and the tho
Raven POVA week ago, I could have sworn I found hockey boring. It made no sense to me why people would sign up to be smashed brutally just for the sake of hitting a puck with a stick. But the last thirty minutes have been shockingly good—I have to admit. We'd watched highlight after highlight, while Jace would spontaneously explain any new hockey term he thinks I should know. And he's doing quite a good job.I steal a glance at Jace. He's now totally focused on the highlights that you'd wonder if he wasn't the one in it. But I can't fault him, dude practically loves hockey. And I, on the other hand, I'm actually beginning to like the sport—or rather what Jace explains it to be— apparently, hockey isn't just about people chasing a puck and getting their ass beat up. It's about watching people give everything they have to something—and watching them trust each other enough to do it together. When the highlights come to an end. Jace exhales as he turns to me. “Gee, that was cool.”“Uh
Raven POV: “What the fuck is happening downstairs?” I pinch the helm of my oversized Everfrost sweatshirt. Trying not to stare at his intricately carved abs. “Wait, is Eth and Ry still with the puck bunnies?” the faint smile at the corner of his lips tells me he's enjoying my frustration. “Puck bunnies? Is that what you call girls?” “That's what they call themselves.” I hiss. “Is there any of the puck bunnies inside there,” I stare at the ajar door of the bathroom. “Gee, definitely not. What do you think of me as?” “A jock,” I fold my hands. “And what do you think of jocks as?” “Insatiable sex freaks,” the words fly out before I can think. Jace stares at me a little longer. The water dripping from his damp hair making him look hotter.“You must have been hooking up with the wrong jocks then.”Heat rushes up my spine, and now I want to slap the smirk off his face. Does he really think that I do hookups? Yeah, I know I'm not a virgin either, but I'm sure as hell not some... ran
Raven POVThe class is clearly buzzing with chitchats, even though Professor Thomas is in class. I know, I can't blame them, the whole two hours of the class has been a total mind-numbing snoozefest. And neither can you blame me for being on my phone. I scroll through my Insta page. My yesterday's video interview with Jace is going more viral than I expected. Jace had already reposted it. Which I kind of expected because he had mentioned he would, but seeing Ryan and Ethan repost too—that I didn't actually expect. A smile whimper across my lips. Even though it's my first interview with him, I can feel myself crushing the project already with this pace. Thank you, coffee inspired idea. I glance across the classroom. Spoting Sharon quickly. She throws me an enjoy-it-while-it-lasts gaze, which tells me she has seen the video.“Fuck, this is bad,” Lyra bursts out beside me just as I was about focus back on my phone. “You have to see this.”“What's that,” I push myself to glance at Lyra
Jace POV Just as the faceoff begins, my attention is zapped to one of the arena doors. And I can see Raven with a girl I'd recognize as Lyra, and another whom I had no clue who she was. Seeing Raven unexpectedly lights a fire in me. She's wearing a leather skirt that hugs her bubble ass, and I find it sexy. Her face clearly stressed. They must have been in a hurry to get here from the music showcase. Which I know because Damian—who I now know to be Lyra's boyfriend— informed me that Rav had told him she'd be running late through Lyra.I know what you're thinking. Yeah. The girl who'd been quick to exchange saliva with me doesn't have my number. You're right. Although many think of jocks and frat boys as always been ready to pounce on the chance of scoring a girl, I'm different. Don't get me wrong. I've scored many girls—in many places and in many styles—that I can remember. But with Rav, it's different. What I feel for her isn't just lust. It's obsession—as bad as it can come and as
Raven POVI blink forcefully. My bones melting into the softness of the bed. But the calm noise coming from the sitting room forces me to push myself up. I'm greeted by the sweet savory smell of chicken and dumplings. Jace is standing beside the kitchen counter made with black marble. An apron hung around his waist. And for a minute you'd think he's a professional single dad with how seamless his hands move. “I thought you passed out.” he flips two chicken drumsticks.“Good morning.” I greeted, sitting on the other side of the counter. And fuck the smell of the fresh chicken makes me realize how magically hungry I am now, but I don't say anything about that, apart from stare at him. “What?” he doesn't overlook keep his gaze on me.“You cook.” “Yes, I also breath air. So are you going to stop asking questions you already know answers to or not?”“I mean, most jocks I know don't. They either eat out or pay for hookups to help them out with it.”“Good thing I'm not most jocks you kno
