Chapter 20

Leah's P.O.V

He had actually left the car without waking me up—and worse, he locked the door. Is this how Mom expects me to come back home alive?

Mom had said she spoke with Sky, and he promised to take care of me. I almost didn't even last one day under his care.

“You accidentally locked the car?” I asked with a dry laugh. It's funny, and at the same time not funny.

Sky's P.O.V

I could tell from her laugh that she didn't believe a word I just said. How do I explain to her without so

Chapter 44Leah’s P.O.V “Um… I meant ‘oh, you're back’,” I said, but I'm sure they weren't convinced, so I added, “I'm sorry, I forgot my table manners.”“Then, I'll be the bigger person, and not take it to heart. I'm sure you didn't mean it,” Sky said as he left.Who was apologizing to him? And who said I didn't mean it?However, I didn't say anything else. I only bowed my head and continued chewing on my food. Luckily, no one else said anything till we finished eating.— — —Sky's POVThree days had passed since the dinner where Leah called me an asshole to my face, and she'd been dodging me ever since. After returning to Starling City, I thought it was about time I visited my old buddies at the gaming center. I visited them every day, and always returned home late.Today, I got bored, and decided to go home early. Whe I got home, it was already 3:30 p.m. I entered the unlock code and passed by the living room. I heard the sound probably coming from the TV, so I decided to check.

Chapter 43 Leah's P.O.V “Let's—” “Why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?” Nathan cut in.His face had that genuine concern, and I was confused for a moment.“No,” I said before I could think twice. “I'm just not up for a party today. I want to go back home,” I added.Nathan didn't want to go home yet, so I left on my own.The ride home was a blur of city lights, and I pressed my forehead against the cold window. I want you. I had actually said it out loud, to him, and he hadn't even given me an answer. Nathan's hand had felt so warm in mine back in that room, and I had still almost ended things with him over a few minutes in a hallway. What kind of person did that make me?— — —I woke up due to the persistent ringing of my phone.“Ugh! What's the issue?” I groaned as I finally grabbed my phone from the bedside table. I swiped the screen and held the phone to my ear.“Leah!” Mom's excited voice came through. I glanced at the time — it was 9:00am. Why would Mom call me s

Chapter 42 Leah's P.O.VHowever, everyone in sight had totally unfamiliar faces. Some people went to the dance room, some went to the karaoke, and others went to do things they preferred.Nathan knew I wouldn't prefer the noisy activity, so we went to one of the private rooms for games. The students here were mostly not from our class alone — the number of unfamiliar faces surpassed the number of familiar faces.“What game are we playing?” I asked.A girl who heard my question responded. “What else? T or D.”— — —The bottle spun, and by the time it landed on me... "Truth," I said, opting for the safer choice. The rule of the game wasn't as easy as drinking a bottle of wine. This rule was quite harsh — you only have two truths, and if you fail to do the dare, you have to entertain everyone. Not just any kind of entertainment, you have to do a threesome for ten minutes, or masturbate in front of everyone if there are no volunteers. To make it worse, filming was allowed. This wasn't a

Chapter 41 Leah's P.O.VHe shouldn’t stay even a second longer. He shouldn’t have brought this up.“Leave,” I said softly this time. The house became as quiet as a graveyard the next minute.I turned to look around and saw that he had left. I instantly regretted it, but also didn't regret it. Why was my life becoming so complicated? I squatted, sobbing silently. The next few days were unbearable—Sky and I became like strangers once again. Our eyes didn’t even meet by accident. Our relationship in high school was far better than this—at least we got to talk.I wanted to find a chance to apologize, but couldn’t get one. At some point, I decided to let it go, and I did that by spending more time with Nathan. We went to the library together, and because he was living with Nora it would be inconvenient for me to stay at his place, so he slept over at my place most times.Days blurred into weeks, and just like that, it was two weeks already. There were good moments in between — a shared l

  • Crossing The Line    Chapter 40: Tangled Feelings

Chapter 40Leah's P.O.V I closed my eyes, waiting for her attack to land. An inexplicable dryness clawed at my throat. I didn't know if I was crying or not, but I didn't feel anything else until the doorbell rang.I opened my eyes, only to find myself sitting on the couch. My book was resting on my stomach, and I was lying in an uncomfortable position. Was that… a dream? It felt so… real.I touched my stomach, and that feeling of being stabbed still lingered. Even my throat was sore. I placed my hand behind my neck to massage it, then rubbed my throat.“Ding dong!”The doorbell rang again. I had almost forgotten the sound that had woken me up from that nightmare. Then I remembered…The doorbell had rung, Nora came in and pulled out a knife from the delivery package..."Ding dong!"The doorbell rang again.I pushed myself up and noticed that my legs were weak. That strange feeling still curled in my stomach as I reached for the door handle. The delivery guy slowly came into view, and

Chapter 39 Leah's P.O.V "Are you sick?" I heard him ask even before the door had fully opened."Leah?” It seemed he was expecting to see someone else, because surprise flashed across his face.“Why were you ringing the bell like that?" he asked, making way for me to come in."If I hadn't, would you have opened the door?" I asked, but not moving an inch. It was obvious I had no intention to go in. I was angry for no reason in particular… perhaps at everything? I wasn't sure."What? You came to my house just to talk at the door?" he asked.I reluctantly stepped in, and he closed the door behind him."This is the first time you're visiting, and you didn't inform me beforehand, so I didn't prepare anything. Is there anything you want? I'll go get it for you.""No need," I said a little too fast, and he paused."What's wrong?" he asked."I came here to talk," I said.He sat on the couch and casually draped an arm around my shoulders."About what?" he asked.I removed his hand from my sh
