登入Lila's pov“What are you doing back here? You’ve been banished!” Elena ranted as she knelt before us in the grand hall. All the elders were present too, except Elder Taron who was in cuffs and kneeling beside Elena in shame.I stood still, my hands resting calmly in front of me while watching Elena display her madness in front of everyone. She wasn't being remorseful at all and at least begging for my forgiveness. Seeing her with so much pride and ego, fueled my resolve to make sure she paid for what she did to me. I ignored her. I looked around, my eyes taking in the hall which felt pretty much the same yet different in a way I couldn't explain. The interior designs remained the same despite being away for 3 months. This whole had seen me rise to power when I was brought before the elders for the first time as the breeder for the outers and it had also watched me fall when I was labeled a thief and banished from the pack. Now it would see me right again and watch me put my enemies
Lila's POVI started out with a jog around the palace. I was advised by the healer to move my body first thing when I woke up. Mara accompanied me while trying to keep up with my slow pace.“With the rate I'll disappear into the next corner without you. You are slowing me down. Maybe on my next run, someone whose more capable will tag along and run with me. You are killing my spirit.” I joked and ran round in a small circle. I knew she was too old to run around but she had insisted on following me. Scared that I might faint along the way and no one would be around to notice immediately.Mara let out a small breath, clearly trying to steady herself. “You call this slow? I'm trying my best, ma'am Lila. It's not easy for me. ” she muttered, placing a hand on her chest. “At this rate, I might collapse before breakfast.”I couldn’t help but smile a little. She sounded so mature and get sense of humor was peak.“It’s not my fault you’re out of shape,” I teased lightly, slowing down a bit mo
Lila's POV We arrived at dusk and it was only natural that I'd be tired. Maria, my newly assigned maid lead me to my bedroom…the bedroom I used before getting kicked out like a commoner.I turned and flashed a smile at her.“Thank you, Maria but I'll like to take it from here.”She bowed her head slightly. “Of course, my lady. If you need anything, I’ll be right outside.” she was respectful and I didn't notice anything strange about her. This was my first time meeting her and I was sure she was new here. I nodded and watched her turboI turn around and disappear into the corner. I walked in and closed the door behind me.For a moment, I just stood there. My eyes moved slowly around the room taking in every detail in my room. Everything seemed intact. Nothing had changed. It still wore the same curtains and the same bed sheets. It had the same mirror by the wall. I couldn't smell dust in th air. It felt like this room was frozen in time waiting for me. Daniel and Marcus never stopped
Lila's POV “Are you sure about this? We don't mind you staying back here. You don't have to follow us.” Daniel said, his voice full of warmth.“No need to cower away for so long. It's time to face the truth. Make Elena pay for her crimes and earn back the elders' trust again.” I uttered, my arms crossed. Daniel and Marcus exchanged looks.“Alright, Lila. I'll get the cars ready. It's always advisable to leave at noon so we'll get there before dusk.” Marcus said, patting my shoulder gently.I nodded once and quickly turned away before they could see the small storm of emotions in my eyes. I never envisaged a day when I would go back to the same pack where I had been banished can eternity. This was it. This was the time i faced my fears squarely. Nothing was going to stop me from making sure all those involved in my defamation paid for it.I walked back into my room with Claire. I took a seat at the edge of the bed while she opened my wardrobe. She picked out a few clothes and hande
Lila's POV “I saw it ma'am. You all look good together I'm glad you patched things up. Elena had to pay for what she did to you. You deserve justice and an apology for all members of the elders council back home.” Claire said, her fingers working magic on my shoulders.I let out a soft sigh, my eyes closing as I leaned back into the chair. “You always know the right places and how to make me feel so much relief.” I murmured. “Don’t stop.”She laughed quietly.“I am glad I am always here to help in relieving your stress. I know you love it when I massage your shoulders because you carry all your stress here.”“I know I shouldn't be doing it but I can't stop overthinking and stressing myself over every little thing.” I replied softly. Her hands slowed for a moment as she reached my collarbone.“You don’t have to anymore. Alpha Marcus and Daniel have proven to be worthy of you and they have apologized for their sins and asked for forgiveness. You can share your worries with them. ” sh
Lila's POV “Wasn't expecting you both to show up for breakfast,” I said, trying to mask the excitement in my voice.Daniel and Marcus smiled softly and both found a seat at the table, sitting across from each other while I sat at the head.“It’s been a while,” Daniel said, reaching for the cup in front of him. He poured himself a cup of course. “It's just been hours.*Marcus didn’t speak immediately. His movements were slower than It should be It had been Three days since he started his treatment. I expected improvement but was met with something else. My eyes stayed on him.“You don’t look well,” I said plainly. “Isn't the shamans' medication working on you? I'm so worried. You look pale and thin.”He looked up at me and gave a small smile. “I’m fine, Lila. I do not feel sick anymore and I'm almost done with my medication. I can assure you that I am okay.”I shook my head. “No. You’re not. You don't look fine. You look so tired and your skin is pale. Stop lying to me and tell me e

Marcus' POV “Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I have this premonition that someone caused Lila to lose her foot and slide off the stairs.” I said as I went through a file on my desk.“Are you listening to yourself, Marcus? What the hell are you even talking about? Who did that to Lila knowing f
Marcus' POV I noticed strange patterns I wasn't sure about. Lately, Lila had grown so comfortable around Daniel or maybe I was assuming things. Today I have to attend some business dealings with Daniel at the office. “Daniel and I won't be around for most hours of this day. We have this very imp
