“We'll talk some other time.” I leaned away from the door to the grand hall wondering who it was Daniel and Marcus were talking to.

“Of course. We'll let you know if something's up.” Marcus assured

I quickly stepped back when I heard footsteps approaching the door. Ye nearest door was about five strides away and there was no way I coild get there I'm llltime.

My heart skipped and before I could move away completely, the door suddenly flung open.

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   Silent Theft, Loud Consequences

Marcus' POV A week laterWhat exactly is going on? Why are we short on $300 thousand from our treasury? What is going on in this pack? Where's the treasurer? Where's Daniel? I bet he hasn't seen this I paced around talking to myself as I read through the monthly net amount the pack had. I had done the math and was pretty convinced that three hundred thousand dollars was missing. There was no way I read wrong. I had read through the monthly records again. I had checked it twice and I wasn't mistaken when I said money was missing.Same result as beforeThree hundred thousand dollars missing. This morning was huge enough to feed our entire pack village for 3 months. This incident has never happened in the history of our pack and that's why I'm surprised to see money missing. My chest tightens, as I continue to pace around.“This doesn’t make any sense,” I muttered, running my hand through my hair. “How exactly did this happen and who took the money? Did the treasurer give me a wrong m

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   A Table Divided

Marcus' POV"Can someone explain what the hell is going on here?" I boomed my gaze dancing from Lila to Elena and vice versaThe room went silent immediately. None of the ladies seemed ready to talk. They had their gaze glued on each other. If looking at someone could kill, both would be dead a long time ago.Lila sat down at the table with a spoon in her hand, breathing a little fast like she had been talking a lot. Obviously she was having lunch and this made wonder why they were having an argument in the first place.Elena, on the other hand, stood a few steps away from her, her arms crossed firmly over her chest, her face tight with anger. I knew she didn't like Lila but picking a fight with her when she was having lunch was absolutely crazy.I frowned.“Have you both suddenly lost y'all's voice? I am waiting for an explanation both of them you.” I added, my voice calmer but firm.Elena spoke first.“She’s in the dining room eating like this place belongs to her. She shouldn't be

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   A Craving Interrupted

Lila's POV When I left the garden a few minutes to noon, my stomach rumbled in hunger. I had eaten breakfast at eight I'm the morning in a gluttonous way and barely four hours later, I felt like I was gonna die if I didn't eat right away.I quickened my steps as I made my way back inside the house. I had spent so much time outside and had forgotten how the inside smelt. The sun had been very gentle in the garden since it was still morning and the fresh air calmed my nerves in a way that nothing would. But right now, all I could think of was food and eating something sumptuous.Real food.Hot food.Spicy and hot.My hand moved to my stomach as it growled again, louder this time. I wasn't the type to shiver when hungry but having another life growing inside me made me have a fast metabolism where I easily got hungry and if I didn't eat on time, my body would shiver like I was about to die.“Okay, okay,” I muttered under my breath. “I’m coming. Mommy is going to get her food now and th

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   A Simple Choice That Felt Like a Lie

Daniel’s POV Upon arriving to Lila's room, I saw her standing in front of the mirror with a cute flowery dress in front of her as if trying to know if you wear it or not. Different other dresses lay scattered on the bed and when she noticed I was in the room. She tilted her head, gave me a smile as if nothing ever happened. For a moment, I just stood there.Watching her. It felt strange seeing her in just her see-through bra and a thigh. Everything that had happened, I had expected her to be sad or distance considering the health of a baby have been putting her in a lot of stress but here she was looking normal and happily trying out clothes like she had somewhere important to be in the next 30 minutes.“Dexter,” she called softly. “You came immediately I sent word.”I nodded slowly and stepped further into the room.“you asked the guards to call me. What is it? Is the baby giving you complications? said. She turned back to the mirror and held the dress against her body again while

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   The Unspoken Concern

Daniel’s POV As we sat over for breakfast, Elena's seat was vacant. Marcus and I had eaten half the potion of food we had in our plates and she was still yet to show herself. Surprisingly, I wasn't informed and neither was Marcus informed of her absence. I picked up my glass of water and took a sip. A long satisfying sip. Something felt awkwardly strange because Elena never missed breakfast. I wouldn't call her a foodie but she would not miss breakfast and even if she did, she seems like the kind of person that would inform either Marcus or me beforehand.I glanced at Marcus again, but he only shrugged slightly.“You have to stop looking at me like that. I don't know where she is because she didn't tell me she wouldn't be having breakfast with us today.” Marcus came off defensive and I didn't like it but I definitely didn't want to push it and have an argument with him.I told my gaze away from him and decided to focus on my breakfast when I picked up my sausage midair when I heard

  • Curse Of The Nine Tailed Luna   Her Past Was the Weapon

Author's POV“Any news on the Intel I need on Lila's background?” Elena inquired, pacing around with the phone held over her left ear.Silence followed until a Cold voice spoke.“No.”Elena stopped pacing immediately, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor.“What do you mean no?” she asked, her tone sharp. “I asked you to get me Intel into her background a week ago. You have got all the time you need. You’ve had enough time to dig into her life. What kind of an incompetent fool are you? I have given you enough time and I asked you if you were capable of carrying out a job within the specified time period. What the hell is stopping you from getting what I need?”“I told you,” the cold voice replied. “I told you today as a girl that there was nothing solid or concrete. There's absolutely nothing that proves who she really is. It's so hard digging into her past.”Elena’s eyes narrowed slightly. Something told me that Adrian wasn't telling me the truth because he hasn't dug in
