2. Alpha's Daughter

As her main goal was to get to her destination before it was too late, she didn't give the recent happening even a single thought.

This time before making a run, she completely concealed her face with the veil because she didn't want anyone to see her. She is absolutely shattered, her heart is already broken by the recent meeting. She couldn't even look anyone in the eyes directly.

Her eyes scanned the area as she reached the village's darkest area, and when she discovered her love laying lifeless on the hard floor, writhing and groaning in agony, her eyes began to well up with tears. She can't see him in this situation. They used to meet in this exact location every day.

To avoid being found together, they fled into the woods away from their packs so that no one could see them. The location holds a lot of lovely memories of their time spent together, but seeing her sweetheart in this predicament made her heart tighten even more.

She was speechless as she stood there motionless, unable to fathom what they had done to endure all this pain. A soft gasp escapes her mouth which let him acknowledge her presence.

As soon as he sees her, he says "Princess" and stops making the agonizing noise. His senses are no longer functioning properly as they were working before the violent pounding.

"Shh..." She rushes over to him and puts her fingers over his mouth to silence him. She is unable to hear him say this word. The title no longer sounds sweet to her. It is pricking her ears.

She sobbed, placing her forehead on the back of his palm and crying her heart out, "Please, don't call me that. It reminds me how this status is tearing us apart, it reminds me how much pain you are going through just because of this status, and it reminds me how I can't do anything for us even though I have all the power. She began crying as the emotions she had been suppressing all this time came out in the form of tears.

She began to open herself to her lover as he continued to look at her.

"I am upset with you as well" she complained.

"Why?" he asked

"You are so strong, why didn't you fight them back?" she questioned.

"That's because of you, my darling," he said cupping her face "You know I am extremely strong and courageous, but I become terrified whenever things come on you. I was scared that if I beat them, your father will take action against you since I am sure the Alpha Aiden will never accept his defeat." he told her

She sobbed once again, "It would have been better if he had murdered me than beat you to death"

She cupped his face from both sides just the way he was holding hers, "and today is your eighteenth birthday as well. Happy Birthday, my darling," he lifted her head and wiped away her tears with the pad of his thumb.

"How can I not cry? How can I not cry when my biggest hope has been crushed? When my biggest nightmare is turning into reality... How can I not cry?" She cried even more.

"Your nightmare?" His eyebrows knitted as he asked, entirely oblivious to what Princess was saying.

She hiccuped, attempting to take in as much oxygen as she could through her mouth.

"You know, I met my mate today," she wailed.

His hands dropped that were holding her face and his eyes stared unblinkingly into her eyes. He could not believe his ears. The worst thing he could have heard at this time is this. His body's suffering was nothing compared to the grief the Princess's words had caused in his heart.

The only thing that came out of his mouth in disbelief was, "What?" His tone abruptly dropped and lost confidence.

She nodded,

"Yes, as I was coming to see you, this is when I met him. He suddenly came in front of me. The only thing that came out of my mouth was mate! "

He was utterly motionless as he listened to her sobbing and the tale which was equally sad for both of them. This is not how they thought about their future together.

She flinched slightly as he yelled angrily at the top of his lungs. She didn't expect it from him. She thought whether he could still have so much energy given how badly hurt he was.

"Just tell me who he is!" In a fit of rage, he demanded,

"Lycan King Angus Lincoln" she told him the name of her mate since she understood that her lover's rage was not directed at her. For her mate, that is.

Dante abruptly ceased growling. His bloodshot, wide-set eyes slightly shrunk in size as his mind discern the name.

"Will you leave me for him?" He asked. Although he has full trust in his love at the end of the day Lycan King is her mate and he is a rogue.

She gulped down the emotions that were building in her throat, keeping her from saying anything. "You know how much I have prayed to Moon Goddess for you to be my mate," she sobbed even louder, "how could you say that I will leave you..." The tears that filled in her eyes spilled down her cheeks, drenching her skin completely. "I will never leave you. It doesn't matter if he or someone else is my mate."

He muttered, "You are mine, Orla," and then he repeated, "you are only mine" he pulled her to his chest and hugged her.

She embraced him tightly and said, "Yes, my darling, I am only yours. No matter who Moon Goddess has chosen for me, I will always be yours. I am willing to fight even with her if I gets you in return."

With pure passion in his eyes for his beloved, he confessed, "And I am also ready to fight the world for you, my love. This is nothing in comparison to what I could do for you." He then put her head on his shoulder and gently stroked her hair.

She was slightly relaxed as she realized that her love was holding her right now and she is protected from worldly dangers. Her gaze then lowered to his body as she observed the violence with which her father's soldiers had treated him. She took a few long breaths in and then looked into his eyes to explain why she was there.

She took hold of his hands, which were now resting on her lap, and said, "I think that we should leave this place and our respective houses as soon as possible."

"Leave? But where?" He asked, obviously perplexed.

Without considering the implications of her words, she uttered, "Far, far away from here. The place where my father can't catch us, the place where we may live quietly, the place where no one could come in between us"

"NO!" He moved away a little "We can't do this. We need to come up with another plan because, you also know there isn't anywhere your father can't reach us," and "Lycan King Angus won't abandon you so lightly especially after knowing that you are his mate"

"But he doesn't know my reality; he has seen me in this outfit, and I have introduced myself as a rogue." she protested.

"But you can't hide that scent," he said

"I don't know" she cried "I just want to live with you!"

As soon as she said that, he stopped talking. He gave her a bewildered glance.

"My love, I want to live with you. I want to cherish every moment of my life with you, but if we run away right now, no one can stop your father from finding us and killing us without thinking. Moreover, right now only your father knows about us and if we elope then your pack will fight against you. They could even outcast you which I don't want. We must give things time" He gasped, revealing the truth, letting her realize that what he was saying was accurate. "Let me give you some time to execute a complete proof strategy because you know no matter how powerful I am physically but I can't fight with Lycan King, Alpha King, and their pack alone," he said, sounding practical.

He was thinking rationally at the time, whereas she was thinking emotionally. She is unaware of her father's brutality or Lycan King's bloodlust.

"I am willing to die for you, I don't care," she said.

"Please princess, think practically. I also love you and I want to spend my life with you, and for that, we have to stay alive" His words suddenly began to enter the Princess's head, which had been filled with his thoughts solely up to this point. "We need to think practically and act accordingly" he further added.

"I don't know, we have to make our move early before it becomes too late because my father is planning something major." She remarked, gazing into the abyss,

"Planning? What planning" he inquired.

And she revealed to him everything that had occurred with her over the previous night......
